Re: SimWorld’s 2k16 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp/Dreece/Blindside (XBOX One)
When we first started these I had a ton of people that stated that they use at least one year of real draft prospects. I'm sure a lot of people don't but it seemed like the majority do so I have always skipped a year to allow people that year to insert a real draft class in there. Some people love it, others hate it. I guess it's all just preferenceSimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Yo Sapp, a thought. Instead of using actual year dates, you could just use Year 1, year 2 etc.
It'd be:
February Newsfeed Year 1...
March Newsfeed Year 1...
then next year... December Newsfeed Year 2...
January Newsfeed year 2
and so onComment

Yeah the actual year isnt even necessary. Think I will make that change. The only reason I have been reluctant to get away from dates is that it looks more authentic when I am listing awards on the profile pages on the scouting report. But I guess it isnt that big of a deal.
I think I will just change because it seems to really be bothering people this year. This is like the 8th person thats mentioned it. Just gotta go back and edit some postsSimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Excuse me if this is a really dumb question, but has this been ported over to PS4 by any slim chance?
I only just got a console for the first time recently, so i don't really know how things work yet!Last edited by Barncore; 11-11-2015, 05:23 AM.Comment

A couple of people have emailed me regarding the names of a lot of players not being in the database. I understand the concern and frustration of many but there simply are not enough unique names in the database and I feel it limits thw creativity tremendously. In addition to that, many of the people that request their own player to be included in our classes would not have that opportunity. And now that I think about it, what about the foreign players? The generated classes may give you a few foreign players here and there but you are limited to a very small amount of foreign names. If I stuck with what is in the database, the number of foreign players would either have to decrease dramatically or a lot of them would have the same last name. So in my opinion that is just as unrealistic as not having the commentator say a player's name.
We have always gone with unique names over database names. I have always been very open to any suggestions from anyone but the names is something that I will never ever change my mind on so if that is a deal breaker for you.... This is a subject I battled with constantly when I first started using fictional classes. Originally I hated it. Absolutely hated it. Still irritates me to a certain extent. In all honesty it wasn't until I played so much of "The League" last year that it became far less important. The game play levels that people achieve with all the work that goes into other editors rosters and draft classes more than makes up for the fact that an announcer doesn't say a name. That's not just sim world related either. How many people out there use a "real" or multiple rea draft classes throughout their my leagues/mygms. How many guys in those real classes have names that don't come up in the database?
End of the day the bigger problem here is the amount of names that the game rejects. Names that are pre loaded in the database. Names that have recorded commentary and we still can't use them...
And if it really really bugs you, change it yourself.Comment

Before I start let me just say. This statement is a personal opinion, has nothing to do with my being part of the SimWorld crew.

Re: SimWorld’s 2k16 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp/Dreece/Blindside (XBOX One)
What's up guys. It's time for another Q&A segment. I don't have a ton of questions this time but I have gotten a few so I wanted to take the time to answer them before I post the March Madness brackets.
Where is DC2?!
Being worked on. As I stated before, two things would be slowing down the process of the draft classes early on this year. For starters we have been waiting on the patch to drop to see what changes would be made so we haven't been in a huge rush to finalize any classes. Also, the honest truth is that me and the guys have been having so much fun working on the League, it has been hard to give the classes all of our attention. But for what it is worth, everything for DC2 is done except for tendencies and Dreece can give you guys updates on that whenever he would like to do so.
You guys made any progress on any more classes?
I have said this before but have no problem saying it again. We never go class by class. There are actually four classes done for the most part. But of course we have to go back and do badges, signature skills and tendencies. But don't ever think we haven't made progress on the upcoming classes. As a matter of fact, I'll start working on DC5 this week and Blindside will be working on DC6. When we say you will get more classes this year, we mean it. Just trust us.
Should I start my MYLeague now since DC1 is out?
Honestly, I would say no. I think Dreece said this before but the patch will more than likely change a lot so we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves with tendencies and other things. If I were you I would still download DC1 and Dc2 (once it is released) and play around with the classes (Hoops Summit, Summer League etc) just to get a feel for it but I personally don't think that starting a serious MyLeague is a good idea at the moment.
Why do you talk about players in the newfeeds that aren't in the draft class you are releasing?
Because the newfeeds are intended to be like real life. If you watch college ball you know that you will see and potentially hear about a lot of talented players that may not come out until a year or two after that. In addition, it builds anticipation for a player you might want. You might have your eye on the sophomore point guard Solomon Myers that we have been talking about since DC1 and is rated as the 3rd best player out of over 400 that I have ranked and by far the best point guard. You might get yourself excited for him only to find out he's going back for a year. It's just something that I like to do to add a little realism to the mix.
How is the League coming along?
Freaking great. Of course you can just visit the League thread where Dreece is constantly posting updates and Blindside is constantly giving you feedback about the exhibitions he is playing with the teams but the simple answer is that it is going great.
Thanks to everyone for the patience and kind words. Let's get on to some March Madness now.....SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes
