Having a great time with the class. Hats off to you, JazzMan.

I'm going to assume that the production of class #2 is on hold, understandably though. In the meantime, does anyone else have any suggestions on another class to use?

Another year of 2k means another year of my draft classes on PS4.



The Goal:

My goal here is to provide Playstation 4 with balanced, unique, realistic, and fictional draft classes for NBA 2k17. I want each class to have busts and gems. I want some classes to have future superstars at the top (Davis, LeBron, KAT). I want others to have big-time busts at the top of the draft (Anthony Bennett, Kwame Brown, Adam Morrison).

I want some classes to have a lot of depth, I want some to be a three, two, maybe even one player draft. I want to see some guys become All-Stars even though they were pushed out of the lottery by less polished players with high potential. And I do believe I have found a way to replicate all of this in my classes.

You're going to have to scout the players. Some guys that you scout may look like they could be the next big thing at their position, but end up not reaching their potential anyway and being labeled a bust.

My entire method is based around potential and peak age start/end. Some prospects that have a high potential will not reach it. Others will be able to reach their peak potential and sustain it for a number of years, while others may flash their potential for a year or two and then drop off the face of the planet due to injuries (Greg Oden, Brandon Roy) or they just don't have the stuff (Michael Beasley, Johnny Flynn, etc.).

So, this means that guys aren't going to pan out. Some guys will. It's all about risk vs reward. In order to get a superstar, you may have to take a chance in the draft on a high potential pick and hope he reaches it.

For the element of surprise, do not look at a prospect's Peak Age Start/End, and do not look at their Potential in numeric form.

Ideally, 45 or 50 prospects is what I'd like to reach before I release my classes. I'm at 21 currently for my first class, so I'm just about halfway there.


About Me:

I've been making fictional classes since NBA 2k12. I have a fair amount of knowing what I'm doing. However...

I am 21 years old, I work two jobs and I've got my own rent and bills to pay. I won't be able to work on these classes night and day, as much as I'd like to. I won't be able to make these classes 100% perfect, where all of the ratings and tendencies are exactly where they should be for every prospect. Just know that I am one man working on rather large projects and classes. However, as always, constructive criticism and feedback is always welcome.


TL;DR:

These classes will have balance, busts, and gems. Players will be unique, and lots will be high risk, high reward prospects, just like the real NBA.

Love the players I got outta this draft. with the 4th pick I took Erik Wright the sharp shooter for Germany. Man is he fun to shoot with. Unfortunately I lost him for a couple of months due to a Knee injury. He's back soon so I'm pumped about getting him back in my lineup

I also had the 6th pick and my target was the 7-5 Michigan center. He went 5th overall to Memphis and I was pissed! I traded down to 11th pick where I chose Q. Malone, 7-1 center from Georgetown. Tried football for a year I think? Anyway, that dude is a dunking machine. Very fun to run the pick and roll with him.

Raymar Benjamin went 1st overall to Atlanta and is running away with the ROY award. 15 and 7 with I believe 1.5 spg and 1.5 bpg. Great player

I'd love to see you release another class as I've enjoyed this one alot! Thanks!

That's the stuff I love to see.

I had the opportunity to do some work on Class 2 a couple nights ago. Really it's just a good 2 or 3 nights of hard work away from being ready for release. Maybe I'll have some time this weekend and it can hammer it out 😁

I took Raymar Benjamin with the 5th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, and i'm not disappointed :
First season : 17.8 ppg - 9.3 rpg - 4.1 apg - 1,8 spg - 2.0 bpg - .434FG%
Second one : 18.3 ppg - 9.7 rpg - 5.0 apg - 1.8 spg - 2.2 bpg - .451FG%

There is still 21 games to go on his second season, i'm using the Brooklyn Nets (yeah, i know i cheated a bit to get some draft picks back, i only like to build through the draft).

Benjamin is not my first scoring option but most of the actions go through him, so he gets godly stats. My first option, Caron Flemming (a modified Josh Jackson from EmbraceThePace, i don't like to use real players so i change the names and a lot of stuff with real classes) is still improving, so i expect Benjamin to see his ppg reduce in the next few seasons, but his assists will i hope continue to go up !

Anyway, amazing job i'm loving it !

Great work on the first class man looks great, in the playoffs in myleague right now and am pumped to see how it turns out in the offseason ill let you know how it goes. Keep up the good work im sure #2 will be great aswell!

Just on hold. However I would suggest looking around for more fictional classes, I know a lot of these guys do some quality work.

Hey JazzMan, how far into class #2 did you get? Any chance you could release what you have? Even if it is just 10-15 players, would love to use it in my MyLeague in the latter years. 10 is better than cpu generated

Yeah, I can upload it when I get off work tonight. Think IIRC I'm about 20 players in, not certain though.
