    Re: JB's 2k20 (PS4) Fictional Draft Classes

    #1 Brighton Reed
When talking about the best basketball player of all time, your conversation has always been Jordan or Lebron. No more. Drafted #3 to the Monarchs, Brighton would endure two rough seasons in the win column only winning 26, and 30 games his first two years. This would be the last time in Brighton’s career the Monarchs had less than 53 wins in a season. Brighton and the Monarchs created arguably the greatest dynasty in sports history. Many were shocked when they went 73-9, and tied the Warriors wins record, only to come back and go 76-6 the next season. The Monarchs would have 5 seasons over 70 wins with Brighton leading the team. Reed would go on and be the NBA’s all time wins leader with 1287 career wins, demolishing Kareem Abdul-Jabar’s record of 1074. Team success? 10 NBA titles. Personal awards? 7 League MVPs. All time record books? 5th all time in points, with 34,762, 6th all time in 3 pointers with 4,426, 2nd all time in assists with 14,058, 6th all time in steals with 2,499, 4th all time in minutes, 1st all time in triple doubles with 216, the list could go on and on. Reed won 3 of his NBA titles early in his career with a 3-pete in 2026-2028, but would then come up short in the finals twice over the next 7 years. The Monarchs would get back in the finals in 2034 winning their 4th title followed by another the following year. The Nets and Bucks would win the next two knocking off the Monarchs in 7 games both times, before the Monarchs would win the next 5 titles to close out Reed's career. When it was all said and done, the Monarchs were in the Finals 14 out of 18 years. It is hard to pinpoint his best game ever, but had an insane 68 point, 16 assist, 16 rebound, 7 steal game, coming 3 steals away from a quadruple double. He also had a 31 assist triple double, to break the record for most assists in a game. His best season ever came when he averaged 30 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists a game while shooting 47% from 3, which isn’t too bad for a kid who's knock on him was his 3 point shot coming out of Kentucky. The thing about Brighton Reed that made him so great is the fact he kept so many other all time greats from winning championships as well. The conversation of the best basketball player of all time begins and ends with Brighton Reed.
Awards: Hall of Fame, 7 Time MVP, 3 Time FInals MVP, 18 Time All-Star, 3 Time All-Defensive Team, Rookie of the Year, 1st Team All-Rookie
Jeffruel’s Take: To put it simply, Brighton Reed is the best player I have ever played with in the game. After my first run through and playing with Tre Hunter, Brighton develops into the shooter that Tre is, but he is 5 times the athlete Tre is. I tried to make this the most realistic MyLeague as possible with trades, and I’m not sure if I get the result because Brighton was so good lol. The crazy thing is, it wasn’t just me playing with him the whole time that made him amazing, he did this when I simulated as well. The last 3 years of his career, he was a 75, 71, and 68 overall, and I had to manually start him because a 7 time MVP isn’t coming off the bench. He tried to retire after the 71 overall season, but I forced him to come out of retirement, and even as a 38 year old and 68 overall, he was able to average 13 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds a game en route to the NBA Finals. I don’t know how to describe him as a gamer. Maybe Russell Westbrook if he had Steph Curry's stroke? That seems like the best comparison. There was a point in time where I was worried that Brighton wouldn’t get more than 3 rings though. I believe he was like 32 or 33 with 3 rings, then wins back to back. He was sitting at 5 and I desperately wanted to get him that 6th ring to put him in the conversation for all time great, and then he goes and wins 5 straight to close out his career. It was insane. JB, this was easily my favorite guy you created.

JB, thanks for creating guys like this to make our MyLeagues this much more fun. The game wouldn’t have the longevity, mystery, and appeal without it. I obviously have been inspired and created my own classes because of you which has been more fun as well. You’re the best in the business on the draft class front!

      Re: JB's 2k20 (PS4) Fictional Draft Classes

Now that the countdown is done. I did have a couple questions for you all.

Did any of you guys get burnt by any busts?
One dude I ended up taking in a play through was Spencer Nixon OSU who never really progressed much. In my final run through he ended up having like a 7 year career somehow and averaged 14 a game throughout, which was cool to see. Marcel Hampton and Mateo Delgado never did anything either in the NBA. Both hovered around 80 overall when they had high expectations. Hampton had some bad injuries that might of stunted his growth though.

I know someone mentioned it, but who were the sleepers you all saw?
Top ones I saw were JJ Shepard, Colt Paxson, and Evertt Quinn. JJ was the best of those 3, but Quinn was such a good team players.

Who were just your favorite players to play with outside of the studs?
      D. Cvetkovic was a guy who was money for me.

How would you all rank the classes?
      This is tough for me, but I think it goes 1, 8, 4, 5, 7, 6, 2, 3
DC 1 just had some studs. Cooper, Hunter, Walker, Mobley, Livingston, and then you have under the radar guys like Colt and JJ Sheppard.
8 you had two of the best players in Zaire Woods and Davon Blackmon..that enough for me to have them at #2. Throw in Tyrese Hastings, Dominique Patton, Goodson, and man this class is solid.
4 had Brighton and Jevon Rolle, The Fab 4, but really only Louis Morgan amounted to much, Stephen Goldsberry was a solid scorer, Spiro Giannu was solid as well. Brighton was enough to move this class up imo.
5 You have Juice, Cy, Dambrauskas, but then Jonas Claver, Lauren Dixon, Mattia Carboni, and Laurence Levins who made big impacts as well.
7 was all abour Devyn McCants, Toni Twyman, and Warren Kempton. Javier Llull was always solid as well.
6 has the best player in DJ Trice, and Davonte Steel is solid, but who else did this class really produce?
2....You have Jason Sanders and Dusan Cvetkovic..after that, theres not a lot. Ian Gavel, RJ Wallace and Evertt Quinn were solid, but thats about it.
3 was a class I had high hopes for but Mateo and Marcel fell flat on their faces. Jontay Taylor developed nicely after awhile, as did Keon Wallace, and Sirven, but if the best player to come from this class was Sterling Weems, the 5'9 PG, I can't rank it that high.

These are the sleepers I've noticed thus far:

        PG Shepherd DC 1
        C Arroyo DC 2
        PG Robinson DC 4
        SG Zisis DC 4
        PG Gooding DC 8

My personal favorite player is Tre Hunter. He fell to me at pick 1-14.

Here's how I'd rank the classes:
        1, 7, 4, 8, 6, 5, 2, 3

I love the depth of DC 1 and 5 personally.

I will say, after running my classes alongside JB’s, my DC4 is a little overpowered at the top with 3-4 guys ending up HOF good. I personally didn’t like it and would’ve edited it if I still had access to that username. If it doesn’t bother you go ahead, as they likely wouldn’t end up on your team anyway
Don't worry man. Let's just say it's going to be the 2003 draft of the fictional draft classes this year ! Can't wait to test it.

Finished the season 20-9, good for 4th place, but Zaire Woods got hurt on the last game of the season for 1-2 weeks. So Cooper has to take off. He finished the season with 35 points per game and 52% (!) on 3 pointers. He is incredible.

Got off in his first ever playoff game against the Heat with 56 points and beat the 3 points record in a single playoff game (14/28). He is special.

I beat the Heat 2-0 (I play best out of 3 to increase the drama).
And am facing the Bucks now, lost the 1st game 100-98. But now Zaire Woods is back, he's still hurt but he's going to put a little bit of pressure off Desmond's shoulders.

          Fun times !

              Re: JB's 2k20 (PS4) Fictional Draft Classes

So Bucks got the best of us... Even with the return of our friend Zaire Woods.
Got to the draft, had the 13th overall from the Mavericks.

So the draft begins... Sutton, Williams Jr., Gibbs all got picked.
At this moment I'm thinking, if Fitzroy Gardner falls out of the top 5, I make a move.
Then Kilmavicius and Gordon are picked.

Maybe I gave too much, the Wizards didn't want to let their pick slip away. I gave #13, #26, Twyman (I'm okay with Ball at the PG position for now), Ntilikina and a 2027 1st to move up. King's ransom for the Wizards. But I don't know... I just think that Fitzroy Gardner may be special. So took him with #6 !

For his 1st year he is going to lead our bench, it was our big weaknes this year. He may be taking Ball's spot in 2 years, we'll see. For now he's our spark off the bench. I hope he's not a bust !

My lineup for this year is :

              Ball (85)
              Cooper (87)
Woods (I decided to move him SF) (87)
Kasparov (I decided to move him PF) (82)
              Walker (84)

              Bench :
              Isaac (83)
              Nurkic (82)
              Fitz (78)
              Mancini (76)

Still no superstars (90+). And maybe I made a bit of a side-move by drafting Fitz... But man, if he's able to provide the spark that I want off the bench, and eventually takes over the PG spot. A 1-2-3 combo of Fitz - Cooper - Zaire could be deadly !

Most realistic draft class balance in the game - hands down.

The best thing you can do is not look at players prime years beginning and end. There are busts. Some that will take you by complete surprise.

Hello, wanting to try out these draft classes but I’m planning to make a series on NBA 2K20 and for my introductory I wanted to introduce these rookies for DC-1 so my audience (or lack thereof) can have a reason to pay attention/actually care about them. I want to do something where I show them hooping with stats coming out of college while their highlights are playing. I can easily get the college teams they play for and I don’t mind if they’re filled with auto-generated nobodies but I kinda wanted to have the first 30 projected players in one roster, and that’s kinda hard to do in MyLeague. Is there a way to have a roster of all 30 (or 60) projected first round picks? I can put them in their respective teams. Unless there’s a way I can do it without having to sim to the end of a season, get them all drafted into the league, then try to trade them to teams they’re supposed to be in. Thanks!

For clarity, I’m just going to sim to the end of the season since CelticLG’s Ultimate Attention to Detail roster doesn’t have a beginning of the season option and Day 1 is not as polished. So it’s going to begin I think at the draft day. Using JB’s ATD first DC.

You can download the draft class and then export each players DNA and then upload them to the correct college team. I believe that answers your question.

I will be doing draft classes on PS4 for sure. I'd like to get a PS5, but I don't know how hard it will be to get one once the pre-order's start. It would be great if draft classes created on PS4 could transfer over to PS5, but I don't know how likely that will be.

I am still currently deep into my official ML that I run each year, heading into year 8, and I figured with enough data now I could throw out some guys who have outperformed their expected value.

                                SG Shane Ruffin

This dude has been a scoring machine. He has always been the second SG on the Pacers, but seemingly puts up points no matter what the situation. His ovr is 81, but dude produces.

                                C Amir Roberson

I really like what he’s doing. Toronto nabbed him late in the 1st, but dealt him away after an average start to his career. He got minutes in Miami and became an awesome second big down in South Florida. He doesn’t put up astronomical numbers, but he’s an important piece of the puzzle. He was up for 6th man of the year in 2026.

                                PF Cameron Kabongo

Another guy who isn’t a star, but produces each year no matter what the depth chart is. Currently he is the 3rd PF in Washington behind Kuzma and Hacimura, but he’s still a valuable contributor to their front court. It’s just a matter of time before the Wizards totally but into him or deal him to a place where he can get some quality run.

                                SG Xu Su

It took my man two years of seeing no playing time before he finally was able to break into the rotation. JB had asked me about him being a guy in my league and at that point he hadn’t, but I figured I’d check him out in Summer League to see what he was all about. He was such a fun guy to play with has he was a very fluid scorer that could get looks in multiple ways. He has a quick jumper that he can knock down even off the move. Ever since then, I cleared room for him in Memphis and he’s averaged between 8-12 ppg as their second SG. He’s been an integral piece of a grizzlies team that is now one of the top 5 clubs in the NBA.
