Re: FT Dynasty NBA2k20 Fictional Draft Classes

This class looks much stronger than the last few, and it's the year of the big man in the NCAA this season. As many as 6 bigs, all freshman, could hear their name called in the top 10, all of which have franchise changing potential.

In an early season matchup in the Maui Invitational, Lousville and freshman center, Jo Jo Cartwright took on Gonzaga and freshman center Landon Pettit. Both are very skilled centers, but could not be more different. Cartwright is an uber athletic big who has incredible shot blocking ability and can throw down with the best of them. Pettit is an old school big who can bully opponents down low and finish incredibly well inside.

It was a battle down low all night for the two of them, but Jo Jo and Louisville came out on top 77-68. Jo Jo would finish with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 blocks, while Pettit finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Naa. I play around with the players to see how they play with their tendencies and ratings and while I do that I take some screenshots of them in action to show people what they look like in their college uniforms. I hope it helps people get a little more into the players and the draft classes. Then I come up with reasonable stats for individual games like the one above.

Re: FT Dynasty NBA2k20 Fictional Draft Classes

Michigan and Ohio State have one of the best rivalries in all of sports. This year they both have future top 5 picks, both power forwards who are developing a rivalry of their own. Michigan's Boomer Allen is an all around player who can even step out and hit the 3. He is insanely athletic for his size, and a good passer as well. Ohio State's Lagnston McDyess is more of a down low threat, but is also a solid passer at the position. He does not feature the 3 point shot that Boomer does, but is able to beat opponents up in the post. Ohio State also has a sophomore SF/SG in Brady Owens who is a slashing wing who is on the draft radar.

Michigan won the first game between the 2, but Ohio State got the better of Michigan in this one. They are sure to meet up again in the Big 10 championship. This game featured plenty of highlight dunks in a high scoring matchup. Ohio State 88, Michigan 80.

Lagston McDyess had 25 points, 7 assists, and 13 rebounds.
Brady Owens had 27 points on 6/8 shooting from 3.
Boomer Allen would finish with 33 points, 5 assists, and 8 rebounds.

In my opinion yes. I have not noticed any of the players not meshing well with his roster.

In an early season matchup, Kentucky takes on Gonzaga. Kentucky was without 2 of their top players due to suspension, freshman SF Deion Lawson, and sophomore PG Trevon Tyler. Not that SG Andre Long needed an excuse to take more shots, but he thrived as the lone option for the Wildcats. Gonzaga had no answer for Andre Long all night and he was able to score at all 3 levels. Kentucky would win the game 76-59.

When it was all said and done, Andre Long finished with 43 points, 4 shy of the Kentucky freshman record.

Landon Pettit would finish with a 17 point, 11 rebound double double in the loss for Gonzaga.

Coach Cal is probably the only coach in the country who can handle a player with the Dennis Rodman personality of Andre Long. Coach Cal has done a great job of running the offense through him this season.

Re: FT Dynasty NBA2k20 Fictional Draft Classes

Kentucky would take their 5-0 SEC record on the road to take on Tennessee and their perfect SEC record as well.

Kentucky has been on a roll since they got Trevon Tyler and Deion Lawson back from suspension. Treveon Tyler is an athletic PG who can get to the rim very well. He is not the best passer for a PG, but will occasionally wow the crowd with a flashy pass. Lawson is a very fundamental player who very rarely makes mistakes out on the floor. Does not have the wow factor that Tyler or SG Andre Long have, but he is a huge part of Kentucky's success so far this year.

On the other side, Tennessee has one of the premiere big men in the country in freshman PF Mason Wright. He is a stretch four who scores very well at the elbows, and can hit 3 point shots. He has a great fadeaway in the low post.

Kentucky simply had too much star power for Tennessee to keep up in this one. Kentucky's big 3 would all in up 20+ in this one, their highest scoring total of the year between the 3 of them. Kentucky would win 88-74

Trevon Tyler would finish with 21 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
Andre Long ended up scoring 20 points, 2 assists.
Deion Lawson scored 27 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds.

In the loss, Mason Wright had 23 points. He shot 4/7 from 3 in this one.

After last year when neither Duke or North Carolina made it past the Sweet 16, both look ready to make deep tournament runs this season. In their first matchup Duke would beat UNC 76-81, but this 2nd game was much more eventful.

Duke features 3 solid future NBA players. Freshman SF Evan Hodges is a 3 and D player with good length. Sophomore C Clyde Baker is a huge presence down low at 7'1 260. Then there is Duke's best player, Sophomore SG, Sean Lever. Sean's older brother, Steve, was a 3 year starter at Duke and led them to a national championship as a Junior. Sean, just like his brother is an incredible shooter.

UNC Features a Freshman PG, Landry Christmas. Christmas is a solid scorer for a PG and has a bit of flair to his game. They also have a Sophomore SG who can hit from range in Andrew Rhodes.

In this game, UNC switched on all screens and constantly trapped Sean Lever and he struggled all night. Duke had to go inside to Clyde Baker to attack the smaller UNC lineup. UNC would take a 2 point lead into the final 20 seconds of the game. Sean Lever had been held in check all night, but when the lights were the brightest and it mattered the most, he drove left, pulled up, and hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to knock off UNC 73-72. He will forever be inshrined in Duke UNC history with that shot.

Landry Christmas scored 17 point, and had 7 assists for the Tarheels.
Andrew Rhodes would score 25 points, on 6/10 3 point shooting.

Sean Lever only had 11 points on 2/11 shooting from the field, but hit the game winning 3.
Evan Hodges scored 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Clyde Baker went off for 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

                        Scouting report is finished.

Went with a new format this time. Focused more on games during the season with pictures on pages 4 and 5 of the thread, the NCAA tournament and team previews, giving minor players blurbs, and then only wrote 19 player reports. Let me know if you guys prefer this way of scouting with the pictures and posts and tournament, or just the traditional write ups I have done in the past.

Players I had fun with in this class was Andre Long, Sean Lever (hoping some of you get that reference), DaJuan Outlaw, Boomer Allen, and Langston McDyess.

Re: FT Dynasty NBA2k20 Fictional Draft Classes

In the Maui Invitational championship, we had a Wildcat vs Wildcat final. #9 Villanova and freshman PG PJ Kane take on #7 Kansas State and #1 recruit SF Kyler Lofton and 1st team All American, senior PG Eric Stockton. Kansas State, fresh off their Elite 8 run from a season ago is ready to prove they belong in the top tier of teams this year.

PJ Kane had struggled coming into the this game shooting only 35% from the field, but he was able to slash through the K-State defense all night long. He got to the rim whenever he wanted and found open teammates frequently. He would finish his best game of the season with 28 points and 6 assists. Scouts feel like this is the PJ Kane you should expect to see in the NBA, not the one he has been the first 4 games of the season so far.

Kyler Lofton had a quiet 22 points, and he continues to elevate his draft stock. He is likely to go #1 in this years NBA draft. He plays so smooth and does not force bad shots. He went 8-11 from the field in this one.

Eric Stockton, lasts years Bob Cousy award winner and a former 5 star recruit who transferred from Kentucky, finally has some help at Kansas State this year. He will likely be a first round pick in this upcoming draft, but his ceiling might be limited after 4 years in college. He would finish with 27 points and 7 assists.

Kansas State would walk away with the Maui Invitational title, 78-70.

Re: FT Dynasty NBA2k20 Fictional Draft Classes

In this years draft class there are 6 international prospects who have been showing up on mock drafts.

7'2 Center, Pierre Lecque of France is the player most ready to contribute to NBA teams. Had he declared 4 years ago, he might have found himself as the number 1 pick. Now he is the oldest player in the draft at 23 years old. He will likely be the best player in year 1 of this draft, but he does not have the ceiling that other players have. He has a very safe floor. He's a very fundamental player who brings in boards. Despite his age and limited upside, he should still hear his name in round 1, likely at some point during the lottery.

At 19 years old, Santino Fernandez of Argentina has the most upside of the international players. He is an athletic lefty guard who has incredible handles. He could play the point position well, or he could slide over to the 2 and create his own shot. His 3 point shot is average, but it is not crazy to imagine him as a 3 level scorer in the near future. He has good height at 6'5 for either guard position. Don't be surprised if a team takes a chance on Santino in the top 10.

22 year old Finn Schmidt of Germany is a little raw, especially for a player of his age, but he has not been playing basketball long. At times, he has looked incredible. His defense is NBA ready, and he has a developing offensive game. He is 6'11, 245, and he is a huge presence down low. Scouts feel like he is an absolute steal in the 2nd round where he has been going in mock drafts.

In this years draft class there are 6 international prospects who have been showing up on mock drafts.

21 year old SF, Giovanni Russo of Italy, is the best shooter in this draft class. He's got an incredibly quick release, and has good height of 6'7 so he rarely has shots blocked. All he needs is a split second to get his shot off. If you leave him open in the corners, consider it made. He will likely hear his name called in the lottery.

22 year old Adel Klein is a forward from Germany. At 6'9 239, he has the length and the weight to play either forward position. He is a solid passer from the low post, and can score pretty well in the paint. He could be a solid pick in the 2nd round for a team looking for a post playmaker.

20 year old, Leo Fournier of France is a SG who can lock down anyone he comes across. He is a good athlete, and has a long wingspan which helps him get into passing lanes. His offensive game is a work in progress, but he will provide NBA caliber defense from day 1. He could go as high as the top 10, or as late as the tail end of the 1st depending on how teams value defense.
