Re: FT Dynasty NBA2k20 Fictional Draft Classes

KU in their alternate crimson uniforms would take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in a Big 12 battle. West Virginia is led by 6'3 freshman PG Ellis Gordon. Gordon specializes in defense and runs the West Virginia press very well. He has a long wingspan and quick reflexes, so it makes it very hard to pass around. KU on the other hand likes to slow you down and work the offense through their 2 posts, Damion Miller, and Kadeem Zeller.

West Virginia would get the upper hand early with the press being too much for Kansas to handle. Ellis Gordon would have 3 steals in the first half alone, and deflect a handful of other passes. After the break KU would settle down and run their offense through Zeller and the high post. Zeller did a good job of creating for himself and finding open teammates all over the floor, and KU would come back to win the game 87-79.

Ellis Gordon would finish with 17 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals. The #12 freshman in the nation could be shooting up draft boards with that performance.
Kadeem Zeller would end with a game high 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Damion Miller the bruiser down low finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds.

Nebraska would take on the #1 ranked Hoosiers of Indiana in this one. Indiana has been tough all season long, and is sporting a 15-0 record through the season, while Nebraska has been wildly inconsistent and is 10-5 but that was not the case here tonight. This game was over before it started.

Nebraska playing behind an energetic crowd came out on fire. Sophomore PG BR Robertson would start the game off with back to back 3's, before working with Andrius Klimavicius in the pick and pop who would hit two of his own. Indiana would burn a quick timeout already down 12-2 in the first 3 minutes of the game. Jared Byrd for Indiana would try and keep pace, but had a rare off night for the Hoosiers, finishing only 3-11 from 3 point range.

Klimavicius, who has been a bit of a let down had his coming out party tonight. This is the player scouts expected to be seeing all season. He would finish the game with 33 points, 11 rebounds, and he went 5-7 from behind the arc. Him and teammate BR Robertson worked the pick and roll game all night, and Robertson would finish with 11 assists. Nebraska would win this one 75-59. As you can imagine, the court was stormed in a matter of seconds, and it appears Nebraska could turn around their season.

BR Robertson would end the night with 27 points, 11 assists, and 2 steals.

Andrius Klimavicius was a monster in this one finishing with 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 5-7 from 3

Jared Byrd ended the night with 17 points, 3 assists, 3 turnovers

Joseph Henderson had a nice game with 15 rebounds, but only 7 points

Dondrick Collins would finish with 14 points, and 7 rebounds.

        Storylines to Follow-Halfway Point

Can Kentucky freshman Fitzroy Gardner convert to PG?
Halfway through the season Kentucky is sitting at 15-7, and the Fitz to point guard move looks like a failed experiment. Calapari has been answering questions about it after every single game and he has a point. He is saying it is about getting him consistent with the position as he has never played it before. In the wins, Fitz looks like a legitimate top 5 PG, but the losses are brutal. He is averaging 18.4 points, 4.3 assists a game, and 4 turnovers. Despite what Calapari says, that is not the assist to turnover ratio you want to see. Fitz has been very positive about the move and has never once shifted the blame to anyone but himself.

        Daymonn Sutton the scoring machine
Daymonn Sutton had Drake all the way up to #11 before dropping back to back road games against Northern Iowa and Loyola. Sutton of course is still scoring in bunches. Drake is now 19-2 and Sutton is averaging an absurd 39.4 ppg in conference play. Boosted largely in part to his 54 and 48 point outbursts against Southern Illinois and Bradley. His scoring average in total is sitting at 34.5 ppg. Drake does have some competition in the Valley this year, as Northern Iowa is sitting undefeated in conference play. A rematch against them late in the season could decide the conference.

        The Florida Freshmen
The Florida Gators had their first slip up in conference play, but remain one of the best teams in the country at 21-1. Florida was upset at home by a veteran lead Tennessee team. Not only that, but C Justin Hackett was mysteriously on the bench all game for this one. When asked about Hackett not playing, Florida coach, Mike White said it was for breaking a team rule and would leave it at that. You have to wonder if Coach White is worried he is playing an ineligible player in Hackett. The NCAA has begun their investigation and has been seen on the campus in Gainesville. Terrion Williams Jr. has taken his game to another level during conference play, and if were not for Breon Dixon of Louisville, Williams could be the #1 pick in the draft. He is averaging 27 points a game in conference play, while Duce Pittman is averaging 21. Daquan Gibbs continues to be the unsung hero of the team, and has boosted his 3 point percentage to an absurd 48%.

Nebraska adds a top 5 recruit to reigning Big 10 freshman of the year B.R. Robertson
After sitting at 10-5 through 15 games, Nebraska has won 7 straight games to move to 17-5 on the season. They are back inside the top 25 at #16, and the inside out combo of BR Robertson, and Andrius Klimavicius is one of the best 2 man games in the country. Klimavicius has been seeing his name show up in the top 10 of mock drafts, and if he continues this, should easily work his way into the top 5. He is boasting a 37% 3 point percentage, and while it is not anything to write home about, you have to respect it. BR Robertson is averaging 18 points and nearly 9 assists a game and is showing up in the lottery of mock drafts. Nebraska and Indiana are both tied at the top of the Big 10 standings, with Iowa 1 game back.

        Indiana led by upperclassmen
Indiana dropped a game to Nebraska, but with Florida being upset by Tennessee, Indiana was out of the #1 spot for only a week. Indiana is sitting at 20-1 and does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon. With the exception of the Nebraska loss, and a 3 point victory against Michigan State, Indiana is dismantling teams. Their average margin of victory this season is 14.4 points. Jared Byrd is the favorite for national player of the year, while Joseph Henderson leads the nation in rebounds at 13.6 a game.

Breon Dixon likely headed for #1 pick

Breon Dixon has not done a single thing to hurt his draft stock this season. He is averaging 24.5 ppg, bringing in 9.7 rebounds a game, and finding teammates as well, all while shooting 64% from the floor. He is a surefire #1 pick in this year's draft. He is constantly putting his elite athleticism on display and has Louisville sitting at 19-3 and as the #4 team in the nation.

I don't search my gamertag, I just click R1 or R2 (don't remember which) and go to "my uploads" and my uploads are all there.

#2 Florida takes on Mississippi State, a middle of the pack SEC team. Florida has been without freshman Center, Justin Hackett due to an ongoing investigation over his eligibility. While the NCAA has not found any hard evidence, they have advised Florida coach, Mike White to withhold Hackett from any competition. Coach White, who has publicly voiced his opinion on the matter has finally had enough of the NCAA and has decided to play Hackett anyway. Florida made it known in this game, they are the best team in the country, and the only thing slowing them down is a recruiting scandal.

Mississippi State simply had no chance in this game. This was an emotional game for Florida and it showed throughout. All 4 of their star freshman erupted for monster games.

SF Terrion Williams lead all scorers with 36 points.

Wing DaQuan Gibbs had 25 points, on 6-8 3 point shooting.

PF Duce Pittman had 26 points, 11 rebounds to record his 17th double double of the season.

                      C Justin Hackett, after a 2 week absence has a 17 point, 21 rebound, 7 block game.

Florida's freshman would combine for 104 points in an absolute rout of a game, 112-57. Florida has put the NCAA and the rest of the country on notice with this game.

After the game Mike White told reporters he was going to play all of his players until the NCAA deemed them ineligible. He said the crowd was electric in this one, and he's never seen a group of players have more fun than those 4 had out on the floor tonight.

23-3 Drake and Daymonn Sutton take on 24-2 Northern Iowa. Northern Iowa has a 1 game lead on Drake in the conference but a win for Drake in this one would create a tie at the top of the Missouri Valley standings.

Northern Iowa is led by senior stretch 4, Nathan Plumlee. He has a weird shot, but has managed to knock down 43% of his 3 pointers this season for the Panthers. Along side Plumlee is Deshon Morin, a sharpshooting SG who is just as deadly as Plumlee behind the arc. They are a huge reason why Northern Iowa is the #1 3 point shooting team in the country.

This game might as well been a 3 point shootout as Daymonn Sutton, Plumlee, and Morin go blow for blow. In the first half alone, the 3 combined for 16 3 point buckets. In the second half, UNI ran a triangle and 2 on Daymonn, but he was able to split defenders and then distribute to his teammates. His passing was really on display in this one. Drake would win 88-83, and force a tie at the top of the Valley standings.

Daymonn Sutton would finish with 38 points, 11 assists.

Nathan Plumlee had 29 points, hitting 7-11 from 3

Deshon Morin finished with 26 points.

Daymonn Sutton is currently averaging 33.7 points and 8.7 assists a game, and looks like a lock for the top 5 in the draft at this point. So far this season, he has scored 910 points, which puts him within striking distance of Bo Kimble's 1131 points he scored in 1989 (modern era). Pistol Pete's scoring record of 1381 seems out of reach, but depending on what Daymonn and Drake do in the Missouri Valley tournament and NCAA tournament, he could make a run at Elvin Hayes and 2nd place at 1214 points.

In the semi-finals of the ACC tournament, Duke takes on Louisville. Both of these teams have been on a tear throughout the season, and either could be in play for a 1 seed if they win the ACC.

Duke has been led all season by freshman PG, Jarik Cardwell. He has been breaking ankles all season and delivering highlight reel passes all over the floor. Louisville of course has been solid all year behind projected #1 pick, Breon Dixon.

Dixon got going early and often in this one with dunk after dunk while driving to the hoop. He would have a 15 point, 10 rebound double double in the first half alone. Jarik Cardwell would keep it close for the Blue Devils by getting his teammates involved.

Shortly after the break you saw a sight you absolutely hate to see. Breon Dixon driving to the lane and going down on a non-contact injury. He immediately fell to the floor, and had to be helped off the floor by his teammates as he was not able to put any weight on his left foot.

Louisville would still go on to win the game, 76-65. After Dixon went down sophomore PF Juvonte Martin stepped up big time.

Jarik Caldwell would finish with the night with 16 points, and 11 assists for Duke.

Louisville would go on to win the ACC tournament the next day against North Carolina, but that is not the story here. We are still waiting on a medical diagnosis on Breon Dixon.

Re: FT Dynasty NBA2k20 Fictional Draft Classes

Florida takes on Kentucky in the SEC championship game. Kentucky as a 6 seed in the tournament made a surprising run to the championship game, but no one is shocked that Florida is here.

Florida and the freshman got going early and often in this one. Daquan Gibbs and Terrion Williams Jr. know they are moving their way up draft boards with every single game. Not only are they both fantastic players, you have to admire the passion they play with while they are out there. Thunderous dunk after thunderous dunk, celebrating after 3 point shots, you name it. They were the stars of this show.

This was actually one of the better games Fitzroy Gardner, the converted PG at Kentucky played all season. He finished the game with 24 points, 8 assists, and only 2 turnovers. However, it was not enough to stop the Gators from dominating from start to finish in this one 84-69.

Unfortunately, another conference tournament game, another major injury. Kentucky SG, Arland Hanson went down with a torn ACL and is done for the year.

Daquan Gibbs finished with 27 points, 6 rebounds.

Terrion Williams Jr. led all scorers with 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. One of the blocks on Fitzroy Gardner will no doubt be a top 10 play on sports center tonight.

Justin Hackett and Duce Pittman combined for 18 points and 25 rebounds. Both of them dominated the paint all night.

                              Storylines to follow this season

Can Kentucky freshman Fitzroy Gardner convert to PG?
We have finished the NCAA regular season and Kentucky is sitting at 22-10. Fitzroy Gardner is a projected lottery pick at this point, and could even fall out of that without a good showing. He is struggling to run the offense, and while he has shown some progress as a passer, he is still not up to par to do so in the NBA. He is scoring very well, and his average is up to 19.3 points a game, but his assist numbers have fallen off. He could benefit from more time in college. The injury to SG Arland Hanson will only hurt his assist numbers.

                              Daymonn Sutton the scoring machine
After winning the conference tournament, Drake sits at 30-3 and looks primed for a run in the NCAA tournament. They are ranked #19 in the polls, and have been projected in the 4-6 seed range. Daymonn Sutton has currently scored 1119 points, and is averaging 33.9 points per game. He is currently 95 points away from 2nd most points all time in a season. He would likely need Drake to play into the Sweet 16 to get the opportunity to get there. While his scoring has been very impressive all season, he also finished the year #4 in assists at 7.9 a game.

                              The Florida Freshmen
The Florida Gators finished the regular season 32-2 and ranked as the #2 team in the country behind Indiana. Unfortunately for the Gators, they will be without projected top 10 pick, Daquan Gibbs for the remainder of the season as it has been found out that his older brother has taken money from Adidas to ensure he signs a shoe deal with them. While it was rumored Justin Hackett was the Gator who violated NCAA rules, it turns out to be Gibbs. Gibbs had no knowledge of the incident, but has been suspended for the violation anyway. While this is a huge blow for Florida, they will still be one of the best teams in the country behind Terrion Williams Jr., Justin Hackett, and Duce Pittman.

Nebraska adds a top 5 recruit to reigning Big 10 freshman of the year B.R. Robertson
After an 8 game win streak, it appeared that Nebraska had turned a corner, but they then finished their season by going 5-5 to finish their season 23-10. Andrius Klimavicius and BR Robertson have still been very solid for the Cornhuskers, but they are a 2 man show, and they have had trouble getting other teammates going. No other player is averaging double figures. Klimavicius is one of the bigger mismatches in the country, and he should hear his name very early on draft night. It is not every day you see a 7 footer shoot like he can. Nebraska is a very inconsistent tem, but no one would be surprised to see them make a run in the tournament.

                              Indiana led by upperclassmen
Indiana finished the season with a single loss to Nebraska and is sitting at 33-1. They will be the #1 overall seed in the tournament and are the betting favorites to win it all. They are still destroying teams, and if they finish the season 39-1 and win it all, we could start the talks about one of the greatest teams of all time. While Jared Byrd is one of the better players in the country, he is not selfish at all and is a real team player. Indiana plays as a team, even though they might end up without a lottery pick in the upcoming draft. They are the definition of “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”

Breon Dixon likely headed for #1 pick
Breon Dixon and Lousville had a real good shot of winning a national title, as well as Breon hearing his name called first on draft night. Now, who knows? Breon has ruptured his achilles, which is especially worrisome because his entire game is built on elite athleticism. He will end up sitting out all of next season to rehab the injury. No one really knows how far he will slide in the draft, but since the injury he has been going just after the top 10 in mock drafts. If his rehab goes well, that would be an absolute steal. You really have to feel bad for the kid.

                                West Region Preview
#1 Oregon (31-3): Oregon is led by interior force Alec Pettis. He is dominant in the low post, and is a major reason why they only dropped 3 games the entire season. Oregon likes to push the tempo, and if they get out to a quick lead, their opponents have trouble catching up.
#2 Gonzaga(30-4): Gonzaga players and coaches were not happy when were passed over for a 1 seed in favor of Tennessee, but Gonzaga does get to stay out west which works in their favor. Gonzaga is led by 2 seniors with plenty of experience, SF Taj Gregory, who is an excellent ball handler, and C Bruce Macy, who is a monster in the paint. They will be a tough team to take down.
#3 North Carolina (28-6): This is one the committee got wrong. North Carolina has been a solid team all season long behind athletic freshman SG, Ben Southerland. Southerland has done incredibly well in the fast paced Roy Williams offense. Despite being a 3 seed, UNC has the 4th best odds to win the national title behind Indiana, Florida, and Tennessee.
#4 Wichita State (28-5): While the record for Wichita State looks good on paper, they played one of the weakest schedules in the country this season. They are a very sound team, but it’s tough to imagine them making a serious run without playing anyone all season. Senior SF Pereon McCants, freshman SG Royce Wennington, and sophomore PG Charlie Gray do give Wichita State as much firepower in this region as any other team though.
#5 Arizona State (22-10): Arizona State is a team that wins games by playing fundamental basketball and limiting their mistakes. Their best player is senior SF, Rayvion Flowers, who is one of the best rebounders in the country despite only being 6’8.
#6 Arkansas (23-10): Junior guard Jordan Henry was one of the better scorers in the nation this past season. If he gets hot during the tournament Arkansas would be a tough out.
#7 Notre Dame (21-12): Notre Dame has underperformed all season. Freshman PG Miles Konate has a great mid range game, but they have not been able to produce much outside of him. If they end up facing Gonzaga in round 2, they could give them fits as Gonzaga lacks strong guard play.
#8 Michigan (20-12): While sophomore SG Kyle Wallgren has great length at 6’7, Michigan will likely get bounced on the 1st or 2nd day of the tournament. Wallgren projects well to the NBA, but they need more than just 1 guy to take down Oregon in round 2.
