    Re: JB's 2K21 (PS4) Fictional Draft Classes

In spite of having the worst record in the league, we fell to 3 in the draft when both the Spurs and Wolves came out of nowhere to snag 1 and 2.

I tried, but failed to trade up to ensure I got either Justice or Qualls. Shockingly, San Antonio took Tyrese Alston with the 1st pick, and Minnesota went with CJ McCoy. Which of course left me to choose one of my top 2 PGs. I think Qualls is probably the better fit next to RJ Barrett, but I just couldn't pass on Justice. I hope I got it right. Time will tell.

Thanks again for all your work on draft class 1!

Will you be doing these for PS5?

I'm curious where and when to edit the potentials to make up for the boom/bust bug. Do I do it prior to the following year's draft? Or after the year ends and the new year begins? etc. And, shamefully, where do I do it? I'm unclear how to edit a player.

        Thanks

I would do it at the beginning of the new season.
Go to roster, hit options button to enable quick edit, tab over to view entire NBA roster (sort by age—youngest to oldest) and then edit each player from that screen that needs to be fixed...potentials are on the far right. Make sure your editing just the potential for the selected player—in quick edit mode you can select every attribute by row or column so don’t accidentally to that.

Since they don’t have a way to transfer them over, I have to recreate them. I was able to get a PS5 which arrived yesterday. So I should be able to get the 1st class done in about 2 weeks.

I haven’t done any testing on how progression works yet but they added a place to edit the “boom/bust” feature which should make the draft classes work correctly without having to edit the potentials every season.

I hope this feature gets patched into current gen

JB, is your plan to move over to the PS5 full time for 2k21? Might get me to pull the trigger on a PS5 if that’s the case 😬

I will be heading over to PS5 full time, but will still be releasing 5 classes on PS4. Those same 5 will be done on PS5. If I have time to do more I will but I’ll be doing at least 5 for both.

So you’d recommend we play with this feature off? Exciting to hear this will be hitting NG relatively soon

I don't know if there is a way to turn it off, but I on next gen it's editable for each player so it should work properly. It's the current gen version that the boom/bust feature is ruining the potentials of players. On PS5 it allows us to put in a potential that the player will start with, then we can add a minimum potential and a max potential--then it allows for a Bust%, Average%, and Boom% which will determine what there potential could end up being.

So in theory what is cool about this feature (if it works properly) is we could have a second round prospect with a potential of 77 but with a max potential of 88 and a high boom% which would allow for him to become a star player.

Yeah. Saw that in the blog post and was curious how it will actually work out in simulations. By the sounds of it there will be some randomness so that two different sims won't play out the same. Looking forward to Jeffruel and your upcoming classes

Have been planning on doing a Hornets rebuild franchise and build around Jaylen Justice. A bit disappointed they picked Lamelo last night, as I'm not a Big Baller guy by any means... but nonetheless a good trade piece for me to ship off. Really looking forward to the PS5 release!
