Lonnie should be good too. I probably just need to look at touches, play discipline, and maybe shot iq more at this point. I think I got their tendencies in a better spot now. Where before they were not. Some players I needed to see more of on numerous teams. As I scout teams plays I also take tendency notes. Tweaked spot ups, contests, finishes, etc. like I said 1st file is rough draft and scaled. Final is after scouting each team plays, players, rotations, and benches as well as players that are standing out and improved from last year, etc…

Re: NBA X’s & O’s
I decided to give 2K a shot again lol. Been a couple years, and I figured PS5 version (plus on sale, thank you very much lol), why not. I see you still doing the Lord's work Vann. You're my unsung hero lol. I'm big on plays and stuff, and can very easily just spend hours testing every single play smh, and the fact that you can get through it and weed out the crap so quick is MUCH appreciated.
That said, WHY did they take the custom roster option out of both scrimmage and practicing plays? Having to go into a quick game just to be able to load a roster in is pretty ridiculous. What a drag. I'm not feeling the play calling menu either. Having to scroll down to pick a play, while you're trying to dribble? lol yeah, that's no good.
Whatever the case, I know I speak for the masses when I say the work you do is a godsend. Thank you.Comment

Ya I was same as you and took basically last 3 years off. I bought but shelved them all within a week. So this is 1st time I went all in since 18. The gameplay was solid at launch and well worth it but since the patches have killed it. Hopefully it comes back with help defense being played again soon.
As far as the testing of plays I was with ya! No custom roster option in playoff mode either. What I did was add all the plays to different teams to test per category then went in mynba and tested them all in practice mode in that. Workaround… I really had to dig to get teams playstyles nowadays compared to years past. Pistol, Chicago, double drags, dho’s, bigs facilitating, ghost screens, etc… lots of great new plays and to be honest they run the best they ever have. Not really broken plays just more about spacing and execution. Go look at the plays with underscores in them. Those are new to 22.
Anyways, good to see you back and good time to get back on board as I’m close to being final after a month and a half of straight testing and editing. Plus I have been scouting every team in the 1st few weeks to get THIS years plays and playstyles in. I saved you the headache and time. LolBasketball Playbooks

Re: NBA X’s & O’s
What version of the roster contains the latest changes? I tried downloading one of the latest ATD rosters but it kept saying it was corrupt. I ended up downloading the non-ATD version and have had some good games so far.

Re: NBA X’s & O’s
I haven’t posted any changes with playbooks or updated tendencies since the opening day 1. We are still working on it.
So quick update on the 15 final teams playbook. I went in last night and tested all 15 teams final books and didn’t like a couple of things. I had to change them a bit and are now again 100% complete but it set me back before doing the last 15.
I had to go in and look for some specific actions or better actions with options b or c behind the original. I was missing some things (which I’ve fixed now) like double stagger reject options (to go along with the dbl stagger heavier teams to keep you on your toes not knowing which 1 they are running), some more delay action, used a better double drag and double horns play, eliminated a pin with no PNR behind it with a pin into a immediate pnr if no shot (some teams were heavy pin into immediate PNR’s if no shot was there so I added 2 or 3 to see it more often, but 2 of them were not reading it properly in game and were flaring and cutting to hoop instead, so I had to get rid of), i also found and used a better horns STS I decided to use as well as a better AI/Iverson into immediate PNR. Mixed up some horns twist/flip action plays as well with a fake decoy no twist/flip pass & instead into immediate pnr. Things like that.
Everything was to keep the user on their toes more and guessing rather than being able to lock in on a specific play or action. But basically a lot of actions most all teams are running this year that some I had, some I didn’t but more importantly these are better executed by the cpu then the ones o had before. I also added 1 more 1-2 PNR play to teams who use it like the Wizards.
Anyways, now they are final and i can move on to the next 15. I’ve been getting about 5 teams done per day so might be Monday or Tuesday now. Just a heads up…Last edited by vannwolfhawk; 10-30-2021, 04:59 PM.Basketball Playbooks

Re: NBA X’s & O’s
Unfortunately I’m not even playing right now (just editing) due to all the bad 2k updates. I had a great set prior to October 1st which was giving me great games. But I’m not tweaking sliders to band aid fix something they will tweak again. So I’m just waiting for 2k to find some decent gameplay and finish this project before I really dive into sliders again. Sorry but welcome to the thread!Basketball Playbooks

Re: NBA X’s & O’s
Hey guys, 1 quick note real quick. I’m rewatching the Blazers & Clippers game while also watching the live Celtics Wizards game. Those teams playbooks are final already, but with that being said in early season games teams are still adding plays throughout their season. I’m still taking notes even on final teams as I can swap 1 or 2 out here or there.
For example I’ve seen the blazers run some more empt side PNR’s and delay action I had not seen them run yet. The Wizards ran some horns elbow PNR with Beal (but hard to add as they will run for other players as well that we don’t want). The point being if you guys see anything added that I DON’T have in the FINAL version playbooks please use this thread to post videos and the 2k play name in the game and I’ll look to add it in as long as I can and it doesn’t replace a more highly used action they use more often. This is final project but I can make small tweaks but no way can I do this all year and keep up with every teams plays as I want to also enjoy the game. Lol So any help is appreciated!Basketball Playbooks

Re: NBA X’s & O’s
List updated with Mavericks & Pelicans. 25/30 final. Both those teams were tough as I have some backup plays for them that could be used and I could go a few different directions. I might revisit them both a bit later on after testing some more. But final as of now. A couple actions mavs use for example with Doncic only runs for the SG unfortunately and id have to give him P&R ball handler instead of point which I don’t want to do for a few reasons. Things like that. Anyways…25/30 done. Home stretch!
