Re: JB's 2K22 (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes
This might be explained somewhere else and sorry if it is, how does the boom/busy potential work? Is it based on team drafted to and the player is used and performs?Comment

Originally posted by ThatKidNamedTaeIt's been great. I'm about to go into a little detail so I'll spoiler, just incase to not ruin players for anyone else.
SpoilerDrafted Ginyard with the 10th overall pick (which is the lowest I think I've ever seen him fall and he wasn't a fit for the roster, but I had to go BPA with this one).
He started off slow, originally playing backup 4/5 minutes on a contending Knicks team that started Julius Randle and Bam Adebayo.10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist in 19 minutes a night his rookie season.
2 seasons later, I decided to blow it all up and roll with a combo of RJ Barrett and CJ Ginyard to lead the franchise. Ginyard became the starter in his 3rd season and won MIP with the numbers: 17.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists (51% TS) in 36 minutes a night. This is where the takeoff begins for Ginyard.
2027 marks the beginning of CJ's (probable) HOF career. His first all-star appearance, NBA championship and finals MVP all happened in 2026-2027. In the offseason after this season, a Sacramento Kings pick that we had conveyed to 5th overall and the Knicks selected Bryan Hastings to complete our frontcourt.
We're now going into the 2030-2031 season and here are both of their stats/ accolades so far:
CJ Ginyard (26 years old, 94 overall, 7 seasons completed): 17.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 47/36/84. (Last 3 seasons: 22.1 points, 13.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 49/40/87). 4x All-star (2027,2028,2029,2030), 1x MVP (2029), 2x NBA Champion (2027,2029), 1x 1st team ALL-NBA (2029), 1x 2nd team ALL-NBA (2030), 1x Most Improved Player (2026).
Bryan Hastings (22 years old, 86 overall, 3 seasons completed): 14.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.7 blocks, 51/23/69. (Third season: 18.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 blocks, 52/23/71). 1x NBA Champion (2029), 1x All-star (2030), 1x All-Rookie 1st team (2028).
Ginyard is (overall wise) tied for the 3rd best player in the NBA. The top 10 are Lamelo (96), Luka (95), Tatum (94), Ginyard (94), Jaiden Rush (94), J.T Chase (93), Adryan Cooper (93), Jalen Green (93), and then 92 is a huge tie between Cade Cunningham, Zion Williamson, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Dru Tsakaldis.
Hastings is the 5th overall center in the NBA going into his 4th season. Tyrese Maxwell (88) is #2 behind Isaiah Stewart of all people lol.
I think Ginyard is on the fast track to the HOF. 2 rings, an MVP, 4x all-star and a 1st team by the age of 26 is no joke. And the dude can really ball. Whenever I jump in (cpu vs cpu), he's hitting tough shots, finishing at the basket, etc. I wish he was more aggressive in demanding the ball though. Way too many possessions where he won't even touch it.
Hastings is much more of a defensive presence for us. He really holds down the paint (2 blocks last season) in a way that I haven't seen Ginyard do. Ginyard defends well but he's not a true rim protector like Hastings is. I would also like to see Hastings develop that jumper to really cement those KAT pre-draft comps, but it's definitely still years away. I'm projecting it to be respectable by the time he's around 25/26. Brayan really feels like a super strong glue guy for this roster.
Will do my update too this week. I'm in season 2028.
Just want to point out the beast that the Thunder built
SpoilerThey finished 77-5 this year lol. (They are not even my team).
Their starting 5 ?
D. Carter (94, from Jeffruel)
R. Everett (94)
T. Kittles (89)
C. Ginyard (93)
Evan Mobley (93)
I'm facing them this year in the conference finals with the Warriors (one of my two teams)
Starting 5 :
JT Chase (87)
Luka Doncic (94)
Jayson Tatum (91)
Isaiah Steward (83)
Deandre Ayton (88)
(All signed thru free agency, it's been great lol)
Lost to them 3-2 last year (best out of 5)
And they lost in finals to the Knicks (my other team, they're double NBA champs right now but it's going to be tough this year)
This is going to be a crazy series.
After these playoffs I'll update. Classes are fantastic this year and I still have so many to use.

Lmao that Thunder record is insane. I’ve never even done that and I have built some STACKED teams. I love that they always end up like that because of their picks. Always makes playing against them so fun.Comment

Peak start and peak end also plays a role in the progression/regression of players too.Comment

Re: JB's 2K22 (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes
I have a question do you guys use DNA sharing when you create your fictional rookies and do I have to edit each rookie years played in the league after the draft?Comment
-
Re: JB's 2K22 (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes
I was using the player DNA feature quite a bit until I noticed that the players that I created were getting the years pro from the DNA used; so I had to go back and re-edit all of those players.Comment

Re: JB's 2K22 (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes
Did you just edit pro years?
Or did you just recreate all rookies?Comment

Re: JB's 2K22 (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes
I found a way to fix the years pro problem; but the other issue was it was bringing forward all of the career high's in stats from the player DNA; so on those I had to recreate the players.Comment

Re: JB's 2K22 (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes
Are these recommended to use with the storylines off or on? I would guess off, since it sounds like you try to build in your own variance for the players, but just want to make sure.
Is the same glitch in 22 that was in 21, where you have to save the class and then load it into your MyNBA vs downloading it straight from the share, or did that get fixed? In 21, downloading it from the share would cause active players in the nba to have a year statistically altered, and their team played for changed.Comment

I'm not sure about the 2nd question..I haven't run across that bug in 22.Comment

Re: JB's 2K22 (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes
I’m planning to start a smaller MyNBA league (between 12 and 18 teams most likely) …
I’d like to use these but since they are designed for NBA-sized leagues, do you anticipate issues using these for a smaller league ? Might it be best to just use the game generated draft pools?Comment

Also, I didn’t know you could to smaller leagues like that.Comment

Re: JB's 2K22 (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes
I see this thread hasn't been active as of late, but I just wanted to extend thanks to JB, Jeffruel and others who have created these detailed classes for us sim gamers. I'm currently doing a slow realistic build of the Pistons with the ATD rosters and I'm having a blast, just got done the second offseason and the first of which I used JBs draft class 1 (SPOILERS incoming)...
I run a switch all defensive scheme with the following roster:
Cade Cunningham
Miles Bridges
Saddiq Bey
Patrick Baldwin
Isaiah Stewart
Jalen Johnson (Backup "point forward")
Reggie Bullock
Gordon Hayward
Jaden McDaniels
Jarred Vanderbilt
Patrick Beverley
Dorian Finney-Smith
Balsa Koprivica
In the second season I was able to get the 1 seed and make it to the second round of the playoffs. In the draft, I knew I wanted a dynamic wing to fit next to Cade, Stewart, and Patrick Baldwin (15PPG, almost 50-40-90 and ROTY). Saddiq is cool but he's not a creator and I wanted a guy to take the pressure off Cade and allow him to play off ball at times since he's such a good shooter. I scouted guys like Stackhouse, Woodson, Kyree Carter, etc from that class, but the guy that stood out to me the most was Tsakalidis. I envisioned Andrei Kirilenko with shot creating skills. I had the Lakers pick which ended up being 13, and I tried to trade up to 8-12 out of fear that Tsakalidis would get taken by someone. But he fell to me, and OMG am I grateful that he did. I knew his overall was only a 70 to start, but I saw signs that he could be a star in some time, and when I checked his vitals it confirmed everything I thought lol. I'm only 5 games into his rookie year, and he doesn't touch the floor much unless I'm blowing out the other team (he's too raw to take minutes from my vets right now), but the flashes of greatness are there and I can't wait to see what he is by year 3 or 4. I'm thinking he might end up better than Cade tbh, which is crazy because I thought he would be a compliment to Cade, not the other way around. It's so awesome to hit the jackpot like this because most of the other forwards I was looking at were busts. I also traded back into the second round of the draft after Andre Fordham fell out of the first round. He's gonna be in the G League for the foreseeable future, but he could find a role at some point in the future. All in all these draft classes are a major part of what keeps me excited to rebuild this squad years and years into the future. I thank you all for your efforts, you guys are amazing.Comment
