If you play with the DALLAS MAVERICKS I would try putting the Free Throw setting to user Why because you are at an automatic disadvantage with Rondo because he misses evrey single one1! lol Just saying

Today, i've tried your slides. Realistic game. I prefer shot timing but i had fun anyway.

Nuggets vs Pistons 114-107 after extra time. 103-103 regular time.

me pistons .

maybe i've found the speed game too much slow.

Try using the Warriors, Bogut shot 33% from the line last year.
He misses every FT I shot with him. It's gotten so bad that I hardly play him anymore.

Yea I tend to agree with that, that said it's hard to tweak the turnovers without causing the CPU to throw the ball out of bounds 8 times a game via the pass accuracy slider, so that may be one area I'm looking to improve on.

He's shooting 34% from the line this year...if he can't make them in real life he shouldn't be able to make them in the game either.

Game speed is pretty much user preference...I find that the 50 game speed matches the strides of NBA players very well, so I stick with that...your %'s look good and so have mine, I've been having a blast with these.

1st game thunder (me) vs nuggets
110-96
i won, both teams shot about 45 %

2nd game
bulls (me) vs knicks
100-96
i lost, this was my sign that i may need to lower to all star

3rd game
lakers(me) vs mavs
120-102
i lost, monte and parsons put up 30 a piece

4th game
heat (me) vs magic
95-90
i lost, had a 10 point lead with 7 minutes left but,

something ive noticed is that the cpu always goes on runs, i dont have back and forth its just them getting 15 unanswered while i miss open js

this is my issue with superstar too. just made the switch a few days ago because i couldnt miss on all star. now it feels like im stuck in between levels

^That's not the best lineup though...no defense whatsoever, I would see that lineup getting beat by plenty of teams in the NBA, who were you playing?

I think this in general is one area that the people on OS as a whole need to get better at. All I see in every thread is "Oh the CPU scored X amount of unanswered points..." At this point you need to start asking yourself the question, did you call timeout? Did you change your matchups? Did you change your POE's? I'm willing to bet the answer to at least 2 of those questions is no...

If you take this game as an example I went into the 4th quarter up only 1 point and I knew the CPU would try and make a run, that said I changed my points of emphasis, slowed the game down, and called timeout any time the CPU scored too many unanswered buckets (I think 3 was the max).



I recorded the entire game and am uploading it now because I want you guys to see how I play the game and how I play defense. Also on offense you should be running some type of set every time down the court, even if it is just a "smart play." If you can't stop a 4th quarter CPU surge then you will lose the game, and that is exactly how it should be. This slider set isn't THAT hard, but it will force you to play a REAL basketball game, and part of the game of basketball is stopping runs.

I'm also in this "twilight zone" between superstar and all star, but with your sliders I had another thriller of a game!
It was the Knicks (me) vs the Heat in my second season in MyLeague, and it was a super close game untill the end of the third, that's when the CPU started to get unanswered points, from ridiculous angles! But in middle of the fourth quarter, tim Hardaway turned into some kind of klay thompson, making almost every shot, ended up really close: 113-111 to me! What a game!

I understand all the game management aspects, and how you need to use them effectively at the superstar level.

Theres just something about the way superstar is. I dont want to say scripted, because thats a super strong word and its not true, but theres just a feeling on superstar sometimes. odd things seem to happen to both me and the CPU at times, and its like the game is keeping it close. Its hard to explain but it feels less like this on all star.

And I will never deny that, but I know myself, when I was playing Basketball (High school, and D3 before I got hurt...) We would have our scouting reports right and my coach would bring up one guy and he would maybe say "Oh sag off this guy he hasn't hit a 3 pointer all year, or something along the lines of that" and sure enough that guy would hit a 3 with 20 seconds left in the game...I mean you have no name players hit game winners and clutch shots EVERY NIGHT in the league...

I was joking because last night Nerlens Noel got the ball at the elbow, backed his man down once and hit the most ridiculous fadeaway jumper you'll ever see, and even though he will probably never hit that shot again in his life, it happened...and I know that if that had occurred in 2K there would be a thread in the main section within 10 seconds of it happening.

The CPU does not "cheat" I see the same lucky shots go down in the first quarter that I do in the 4th...Every time someone throws the ball at the rim it has a chance to go in, no matter who it is, no matter what "rating" they have and I think the sooner people understand that, the better off this community will be.

Well said. I def am a little frustrated because I had the game tuned very nicely for myself on all star before the patch, and now I feel like im starting over again when I didnt want to.

Im a reasonable guy who knows its a video game. I certainly get those moments do happen, both in gaming as well as reality.

It just seems to happen more than it should on SS level vs AS level.

anyways, just my two cents for my AS brothers who are now making the leap. Thanks for the discussion and the work you do on the sliders Mike
