It comes down to how I play and what I want out of my Franchise.
So in regards to training effects and morale - I fully use the training system and set up different training and practice for every player on my roster. I do not leave that on default. I also really monitor intensity levels, and the progressive fatigue this game has (and it is done well IMO). Each month I will view the practice/traning statistics and metrics and adjust them for the next month if I need to (and typically do as I want well rounded players). So making this matter and the effects of it are important to me. Morale and chemistry is also huge in team sports and my settings make this matter.
Injuries - Self explanatory. With these injury settings we get a realistic amount of injuries and too many big names seem to go down, I will employ my random number generator to determine if the injury will be prolonged etc. It really is your choice. I highly recommend 30 team control and you can set every team (but yours) to automate, but step in and edit players injuries whoever you see fit. It is your universe. I am highly active in checking injuries and making any changes I deem realistic. Again.....it is your universe. 2K gives you all the options to make the league what you want.
