Also please explain the body sensitivity slider on both cpu and human. Should I keep both at 50?

Not sure about Free Throw window, as I always use Real Player % for FTs (My thinking is I shouldn't be able to learn Lebron's FT animation and turn him into Steve Nash after every foul).

Body Up Sensitivity controls how often the game triggers a dribbler/defender collision/animation. The best way I've figured to describe it is to picture a triangular "area of effect" cone in front of the defender facing the dribbler. With Body Up set low, that cone is very narrow, and thus a collision or other two-player animation will only trigger between the dribbler and defender if the dribbler basically runs straight into the defender's chest. With Body Up set high, that cone is now much wider and animations involving the two players will trigger even when you think you should be able to just get around the defender and drive the lane.

So with the slider at 0, you basically have to run directly into the exact center of the defender's body in order to trigger an animation. With the slider at 100, even if you beat the defender at a wide angle the game still might "suction" the two of you into triggering an animation even though you avoided running into the defender.

Thank you. So should we not touch this slider for both human and cpu? If I want to get around a defender easier do I lower by body sensitive slider? I’ve noticed on all difficulty sliders even the hardest both are still defaulted on 50. Is thus the slider everyone brought up on old games complaining about too many blow~bys ?

Do any defensive sliders affect body sensitivity too?

Can someone else please chime in about free throw sliders?

I miss the standard difficulty slider that we had prolly for 5 years in settings.

The higher the slider, the more difficult shooting a free throw. Simple. I do real player % for shooting all shots but I use user timing for free throws.

So….I’ve noticed lowering the new free throw window slider to like 30 increases the difficulty for me (human slider) but I don’t know what number I should put the CPU free throw window on.

It’s really a user preference kind of thing. Some people want the constant contact and contextual animations between two players, and some view these animations as stifling “suction” that makes the game less open.

In my opinion, once you have the correct balance of Agility (Acceleration and Lateral Quickness in past games), On Ball Defense, and Defense Strength sliders you’ll want Body Up Sensitivity set high so that actions feel contextual and grounded instead of overly open and ignoring nearby defenders. Almost every move a player makes on the court IRL is in response or anticipation of nearby players. So with that in mind, I find any instance of the game making players overtly ignore or bypass the actions of nearby players to both look and feel antithetical to basketball.

But that’s just my opinion. And setting Body Up Sensitivity high is not inherently better, as without the proper balance of other sliders you can get constant brick-walls and rubber-band defending that also feels antithetical to basketball.

Sorry for rambling. To your question “if I want to get around the defender easier” you CAN do so by lowering Body Up Sensitivity, but I wouldn’t. First I would learn some of the nuance and effective combos with the new dribbling system, as simply learning how and when to launch/speed boost will make it FAR easier to get around your defender. After that, you can always decrease CPU On Ball Defense and/or Agility slightly.
