    smh lol.

    https://www.2kratings.com/lists/intangibles-attribute

"The Intangibles attribute determines a player's overall impact on the game that isn't easily quantified by standard attributes. It measures elements like a player's toughness, ability to perform under pressure, and effectiveness in clutch situations or critical possessions."

jibes with literally everything I've said in this thread.

You do know this site is not an official 2K site in any capacity at all... right?

Also just look at the top 10... Leaky Black, Justin Minayia and Ousmane Dieng are in the top 10 intangibles of the entire league. If it makes sense to you then, ok I guess lol

Intangibles has no gameplay impact at all. Its just an "attribute" used to manipulate overall rating, which serves primarily for making rotation adjustments.

      I mean look at this:

it's very clear that's 2k's official roster sorted from highest to lowest.

y'all realize every year the 2k community goes through months of tweaking player ratings, tendencies & attributes partly because 2k rosters/ratings hardly ever make sense fresh out of the box, right?

go to the progression tab under tuning sliders in myNBA & check intangibles definition.

this ain't it. agree to disagree

go to the progression sliders in 2k. find the intangible and read the definition of what it does...

          i'll wait.

Yesterday I spent all night testing the ATD roster that puts every single player at 25 intangibles. In the dozen games or so I played I didn't notice even a single difference in clutch performance by players (and I even tried giving every single player of one team 99 intangibles while leaving the others at 25; the latter players made more buzzer beaters and 4th quarter clutch shots, lol). Granted the sample size is tiny but any other attribute when put so low would make a clear difference in gameplay, especially given that fact that the intangible attribute is extremely heavy in the rating's impact.

I will test more in the upcoming days but frankly it's hard to believe that an attribute that has such an heavy impact in the overall rating of a player would have such a marginal impact in gameplay if the attribute actually really did something.

This. I'm 10 years into editing rosters, intangible does nothing except moving players overall. It's a thing that 2k created to please the players even if their stats are not that good for that particular OVR range. Giannis a few years ago is an example, his stats were not that good for a 95 OVR using their PF overall formul, they boosted his intangibles to 99 and some ratings to have him at that rating (they gave him 90 offensive rebound when he should have got 68 for example)

I always took the intangible rating as a thing to make some players have rotation priority over others. The CPU obviously takes overall into account when making subs, so if you had a player who was more skilled, but in real life a coach played a less skilled more minutes over him, the intangible rating is what would allow the less skilled player to be prioritized over him by making his OVR higher.

Unfortunately, everyone in this thread can be either right or wrong because - to my knowledge - 2K has never officially said anything about what the intangible attribute does.
