How can you hit a 3 to put your team up, and then lose by 3 points on a 3 pointer?

To counteract that, we had to increase non-dribble run speeds. While this might cause some guys to get hawked down more often than they would in real life, it was the only fix that was feasible given our deadlines. Believe me, this is a minor issue compared to what you would have gotten had we left the sprint dribble speed as dominating as it was.

Here's a tip... wait a bit longer than you currently are before outletting the pass to your streaking guards. That's usually all the headstart you need to be able to get uncontested breakaways in transition. If you're out in front with the ball and you see a defender hawking you down, dribble in front of him to cut him off, it works like a charm.

And for everybody who's PM'd me about what % the build is. My first advice is never listen to a developer when they tell you the % completion a build is... because it's never accurate. 50% means 75% and 90% means the game has gone gold. Truth is, I have no idea when this demo was made... in fact, I didn't even know we were putting it up there until the morning I went to Gamespot. But if I were to guess... I'd say the demo is from a build that's about 82% complete.
lol...so does that mean the game is 8% away from going gold?

Another nice vid capture - thx RD. One thing that struck me; I know some have gotten on the game's announcing, but I actually like it. The vid was a nice example

            Re: Offical Demo Impressions

this game is gonna be awsome.
I'm a former Live fan and after I bought my 360 I of course got Live without even taking a look at 2K6. What a mistake. a friend gave me 2K6 and I been hooked ever since.
This demo just reinforced to me that I was gonna miss something special if I blindly kept my loyalty to Live.

reading these post I see A lot of complaining about small stuff on a demo that's about 80% complete yet its still better than any bball game before it.

I haven't had a problem with this demo, once I learned the controls I was good.

the fast break issue is a non factor to me. I up the tempo tendency for dallas. sub in stackhouse and we run better. the key is lead passing and timing the pass right. I have seen some awsome layups and dunks.

            my fav was I
poked the ball away from walker
            and terry grabed it.
I had stack on my right but jwill was back when I reach the three point line I passed it to stack as jwill steps back to defend the basket I hit the shot stick and stack takes off. jwill goes up to attempt a block but stackhouse fends him off with his off arm and jwill covers up and ends up posterived lol

              Re: Offical Demo Impressions

Shaq has the ball just outside the lane up toward the free throw line, Wade comes down the lane and Shaqs does his no look one hand pass to him for the dunk with authority. Wade stumbles going by the basket by the camera men and going up court points to Shaq

Antoine Walker goes to the basket for the lay-up but gets called for the charge. Runs back toward the 3 point line arms stretched out and is visibly upset. He stops at the three point line and motions his are toward the ref likes his fussing or maybe saying that was BS...loved it its Antoine whinning like he does. *only heat member that gets on my nerves..love the team*

Terry on the break looks to be going for a two handed dunk, looks to take of to early and it ends up being a off balance lay-up, when he lands he stumbles up court..again loved it. *he can dunk for those having problems with him dunking in the game, remember what he did to my boy Shaq in the play offs?*

So with these few little details in a early demo im loving this game and can't wait for the retail version.

Now for a few things I dont like and really hope can or will get fixed by then. Players doing that one handed dunk through the back board, hope that doesn't happen.

AI catch up on fast breaks, talking about players that are obviously slow almost keeping up with the quicker players, Shaq or Alonzo shouldn't be in the picture with Terry on a fast break when they started it from about the same place on the court. AI takes over they run fast till I take control and they seem to have their normal speed, please fix this.

Also there seems to be to many jump passes from players, maybe we can control this im not sure but would like that toned down.

but great game, love it I applaud you Beluba and the rest of 2k for what im about to be playing in a couple of weeks. After playing a couple times I went right to the store and paid off 2k, was getting it without the demo but I want to get in get game and get out, dont want anything slowing me down from my first game.

PS: I know its been bet to death and off the subject but after seeing the little details in this game Beluba and 2K I want a GENERIC FOOTBALL GAME!! piece

I was playing as the Mavs last night when I committed a turnover. Wade dove for the ball and sat upright looking to outlet to someone but I blocked his path moving back and forth thinking I'd get a deflection.

                  He (CPU) called timeout.

                  .....

                  HE CALLED TIMEOUT.

Perhaps this was in last year's game and I just never saw the situation arise. Perhaps this type of situational awareness was in Live, or in Inside Drive which I never played. But that blew me; was my first time seeing something like that

Im loving this demo but my only gripe is that in fast breaks its hard to get away even with fast players...I hope they fix this. Also when i try a layup sometimes the player would stop and throw a one handed hook which looks wack.

the 2k7 demo should be a contender for sports game of the year. NBA 2k looks to be the best basketball game ever, again.

                            Thats awesome.
Hopefully on higher difficultly levels the CPU continues to make better decisions.

Anybody know if the opening segments of the game go into more depth with the final product like in past versions? I'm assuming it was stripped for the demo.

Guys, Beluba has already addressed this in this thread, its an effort to ballance the gameply. but ive been playing the demo alot and have seen plenty fast breaks and transition baskets, so dont have an issue with it at all. i think some are going to let something minor ruin whats looking to be possibly the bestsports game in history.

Damn I'm happy it happened to someone else. If you could've seen my face... I mean I was blown. I had gone to a late show to see Gridiron Gang w/my girl and dropped her off ; didn't get home until 2:45am (overly formulatic but good movie btw). Was dog tired, but... the game was calling me lol. Had to slip a few sessions in before bed. When it happened I thought... NO. I'M TOO TIRED; I'M SEEING THINGS. Maybe I hit the select button by mistake. I intently listened to hear Kevin Harlan say "Heat calls timeout". I just sat there staring at the screen while the swap player menu was up. Totally blown.
