I have a question about this. I know this is probably cutting it close, but will this run it?
Intel Celeron 420 (basically a Core 2 Solo) 1.8GHz
2GB DDR2 667 RAM
Saphire ATi Radeon X1550 256MB 64-bit GDDR2
Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit
It's my dad's PC. Basically, I upgraded the RAM and video card for him. I know the video card is weak, but his onboard (Intel) kept having driver problems under Vista with another game, so it was more of a fix than for upgrading, as sad as that is. The game he used to play was FreeStyle Street Basketball, but the servers got shut down a few months back. Ever since, he's wanted another basketball game to play (and his son/my brother played with him and is in the same boat). I plan to buy this game for him for Christmas, and I'm hoping it'll work. The RAM should be fine, and while it's no speedy dual core, it should be enough. The video is what troubles me. It says an X1300 is needed, but I've heard the X1050 and X1550 are really the same thing!? What's that all about? The drivers installed seem to confirm this (they say "Radeon X1050/X1550 series"). He probably won't care if it's low, but if it could run it without it being a slideshow at 1280x1024 (that's my worry), I'd be willing to get it for him. Obviously I can't have him try it or he'll know.
I tried the demo on my PC which played it fine with everything maxed out (even with 8xAA), and it seems to run fine and be something he'd like, but it's not my type of game.
Edit: Seems the X1550 actually is/was the replacement for the X1300 series, so it "should" be okay. Not sure why the drivers say it's an X1050/X1550 though. Has anyone tried it on a comparable video card to know how well it runs? This technically puts it right on the minimum line with the video card.
