Re: System Requirements for NBA 2k9 PC is confirmed...
As far as I know, the 8200 cards don't work too well with games, so if the game runs at all it's because you've got a good amount of Ram and a good cpu. Don't expect above average performance results though.Comment

As far as I know, the rule is that any Geforce card that ends with 100-400 is a low-end one. You want to get the 600 & 800 ones. 500 is somewhere in the middle. At least that's what I think. My Specs:

OK, let me try to explain it to you.
Graphic Cards
There are two brands: Nvidia and Radeon.
Nvidia has a class called GeForce, and they have a 6000/7000/8000/9000 class and a newly formed GTX 200 on up. They're lower end cards (6200, 7050, 8200, 8400, 9400) are designed for nothing more than being able to display your monitor and playback DVD's. Gaming of any sort, unless everything is low, will not be enjoyable. Now, they're mid-range (7800gt, 7900gt, 8600gts, 8600gt, 9500gt, 9600gt) should play the games decently. You will have a nice resolution, good frames per second (fps). However, to really PLAY THE GAME the way it's designed, you will need a high end graphic card. This is where the high-end cards really come into play (8800gt, 9800gt, 9800gtx, 9800gtx+, gtx 250/260/275/280/285/295) will make the game feel life-like.
Processor
Another thing should be mentioned. You're running an out-of-date AMD low-end dual core. If you bought a mid or high-end card, the processor would "bottleneck" it. That means, even if the card can hit 60fps, the processor would hold it back and hover around 25fps. If you can, give me a link to your PC and I'll see what might hinder your gameplay in detail.
"I'm never one to spend money unless needed, and I believe you'll need to spend some (some = $150) to bring the PC to a level that will make the game enjoyable.Comment

I actually don't own the laptop, I'm just shopping around for one since I'm a student. I don't plan to go and buy a laptop for gaming, just wanted to know if I can do a little gaming on the side.Comment

Re: System Requirements for NBA 2k9 PC is confirmed...
You could build a great gaming system for around $500. What's your budget? The reason I ask is because if it's >$800, you could get a gaming desktop and a decent laptop they started selling at Walmart. It's definitely worth more than the ~$300 budget.
Sorry if the question is personal. BTW, if you built the PC, I could help you build it by making a video or something.Comment

A few months ago (before buying the game) I downloaded the demo, but could never run it - it gave me some error. Funny, because the retail version runs well...My Specs:
