Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist
A quick suggestion: it would be nice if NBA2K borrowed the control scheme tutorial from the Skate franchise. I bring this game up specifically because of the resemblance of the Skate control system to NBA2K's Isomotion.
For those who haven't played Skate, you'd start off with the basics, having the user replicate what's being done on-screen with helpful guided visuals and narration. You'd then progress to the more advanced stuff like post-up moves, combo's, etc. Additional demonstrations showing players attempting to execute moves they aren't rated high enough for (like trying to execute a specific post-up move with Samuel Dalembert versus Kevin Garnett) would be very insightful. Not to mention it would definitely showcase signature shots, dunks, and other neat stuff.
As it stands, the practice mode is rather dull and unintuitive for beginners. Quite often on these forums you'll find people asking how to execute a certain move. It's one thing to read it on screen (yawn) but it's a whole 'nother deal if you take it a step further and feature on-screen narration by actual NBA players in multiple languages. Think Tony Parker for the French narration, Jose Calderon in Spanish, Dirk Nowitzki in German, etc.
This redesigned tutorial system would allow people new to the NBA2K franchise to ease into the deep control system. Part of the fun about 2K9 is knowing all the tools at your disposal and when or when not to use them. Obviously you could run with this and apply it to several different modes and incorporate mini-games among other things, but the key idea is keeping users from becoming frustrated with the controls.Comment

Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist
An expansion to attributes and tendencies. For example, when on a fastbreak, players run faster. So they could add sub-categories for fastbreak, clutch, etc.#HeatNation

Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist
Player Progression Suggestion
There are two tiers of attributes:
Skill Attributes (Shooting, Rebounding, Awareness, Defense, Passing, etc)
Physical Attributes (Dunks, Speed, Strength, Quickness, Vertical, Durability, Stamina, etc)
Only skill attributes should increase.
Depending on the player's position, certain attributes should get a bigger boost than the others (PGs increase passing, SG shooting, PF rebounding, etc)
A 99 potential should only be reserved for rookies (high potential rookies). So a player like Derek Rose may see his OVR rating increase by 5 his soph season, and maybe by 3 his 3rd season, by 1-2, 4th, up until he reaches age 30.
A lower potential player with a potential rating of 80, would see his OVR increase by maybe 2, with the progression getting lower each following year.
Once a player reaches 30, his potential should be 50, and thus starts the decline (physical attributes). Skills don't have to necessarily decrease, but lacking the physical attributes will make him worse anyway, so it balances out.
I haven't figured out player decline, so if anyone has suggestions, let me know.
Player retirement
There should be an addendum to the player values, such as his career satisfaction. SOme want to have a strong legacy statistically, others want rings, and some will play until they can't anymore.
I wanna see a finishing ratingComment

Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist
it would be nice to be able to play ip to ip in the pc version next year...and allow on all platforms to play online with non officials rosters... some like to play with custom classical rosters...also more options to changes button assignment in the console versions...allow to jump in a sim game to eventually change the outcome in the 4th quarter...
what else can i think of...make more legends...improve the blocks... great game overall just make it better!

Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist
There are many times when the best player is taking the ball out and at times these times are end of game situations. Each player should have Take Out Settings.
Examples:
Jack - NEVER
Rush - AUTO
Granger - NEVER
Murphy - AUTO
Hibbert - AUTO
Auto = They will take it out if they are closest to the ball.
NEVER = They will NEVER take the ball out
This is very important because again, we shouldn't be forced to place players in a position that they DON'T play because we know they will take the ball out.
Please make this happen.
Also, when there is a technical foul called (defensive 3 secs, clear path foul), please bring up a menu so the offensive player can select WHO he wants to shoot the FT. Yes it is easy to just let the best player shoot but what if Bron is cold and I want him to get off of that cold streak with some free throws? Make it happen pleaseConcrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist
11. make the presentation a little better and add more vocal lines to the presentators they say the same stuff every other possession.
12.make a legit half time show with real reporters like ncaa college hoops did for their post game shows with highlights.Comment

Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist
This may come across as a nitpick, but in my experiences with 2K9, user controlled bankshots (or perhaps all bankshots for that matter) never seem to go in cleanly; a "bank swish" if you will. I am reluctant to attempt a bankshot on demand as its tendency to always hit the rim and bounce around a little first makes it seem as if it is a less accurate alternative to a regular jumpshot.Comment
