I've seen more bad passes in the game with certain slider adjustments and player ratings changes. Yet, you're right they do need to add more errant passes in the game especially when it comes to big men, passing while in the air, passing out of double-teams and throwing fancier passes.
My wishlist:
- Better/realistic defensive rotations on the perimeter and better ball rotation by the A.I.
- Fronting in the post being brought back, but with proper defensive spacing and rotations. It occurs on occassion in NBA 2K9, but isn't fully implemented or with an option in the double-team/pressure options meu. Also, the ball needs to be reversed on the perimeter to find the post-up man.
"Fronting the post. We front the post when the ball is below the foul line extended and the offensive player is on the block (player 5). If the ball goes above the foul line extended then we three quarter the post with an arm and leg. Remember you should have weak side help against any lob pass.
If the offensive player goes off the block then we play behind the post."
- More off-ball and reach-in fouls, while of course allowing us change the degree with which it is called (w/ sliders) or turn them off if someone doesn't like them being called.
- More signature moves and packages in the post-game, while making mismatches easier to exploit (I should be able to back-down Luke Walton with Drew Gooden).
- Rebounding system needs to be tweaked (no more suction rebounds) and made more physical. Also, add tap-backs and tip-dunks off a running start (very hard) and under the basket (bit easier).
- No more white/white and black/black generic shoes. Either bring in more licensed shoe companies (And-1, Converse, Reebok, Protege, Pony, etc.) or make your own fictionalized company and shoes. Also, add alot more choices with the three brands already available, instead of 5 different shoes per brand give us 15 - 30.
- More player roles in general and for association. Player roles need to be expanded to include things like; team captain, defensive stopper, 2nd scoring option, rebounder, "energy'' player, shooter, etc. It would allow us to assign players the real-life "assignments" and add depth to association and team-building.
- Team specific defensive/offensive principles and deeper playbooks and offensive sets. The Utah Jazz should play entirely different then the Phoenix Suns on offense. While, conversely defensively teams like the Spurs and Cavaliers should share many defensive traits and philosphies in-game. Figure out away to "borrow" elements of Live's touted playcalling system.
- More tendencies and ratings. Adding tendencies for spot-up shooting, looks to pass, and takes charges would add in re-creating guys like Brent Barry/Roger Mason (spot-up), Chris Paul and Deron Williams (could fix issue with APG in association being tied into Pass rating) and Anderson Varejao/Derek Fisher. Ratings for help-defense/off-ball defense, court-vision (should tie into Off. Awareness, but doesn't) and current "new" ratings actually having an affect on overall ratings.
- Adding possible DLC throughout the long NBA season. Be it actually new animations, shoes, team court/uniform updates and more.
I'll be back with more.................
