They need to add more contact animations for inside the paint to lower those percentages or force offensive players into a tough shot animation similar to live 2004/2005.

After watching suns/nuggets 2day I was reminded that in the nba, shots in the paint are hard to make as people get bumped off their path or forced to adjust their shots all the time. Even Shaq was having a hard time tonight up close..In other words, defender proximity should affect shots more than they do.

I think they should have a "Real FG%" setting similar to "Real FT %" That can be turned on or off. That % could be reduced by a certain amount when defenders or other bodies are within a certain range. The amount it drops could depend on their def awareness.
    Ex: Teammate = -2-3% , def awareness(DA) 50-59=-4%, DA 60-69= -5%, DA 70-79= -6%, da 80-89=-7%, DA 90-99=-8%
Now if a shooter's off awareness is greater than defender's DA, the defender won't affect the shot as much and his affect will be reduced. Say a shooter with 89 OA is defended by a DA of 50-59, his effect on the shot drops from 4% to 1%(=+1% for each category shooter is above defender-3 categories in this case) Imo to get the most sim results you have to take some things away from the user.

Which active player will make the best head coach someday?
      1. Eric Snow -- 24.0%
      2. Sam Cassell -- 16.0%
      3. Derek Fisher -- 12.0%
      4. Darrell Armstrong -- 8.0%
      Steve Nash -- 8.0%
      Jacque Vaughn -- 8.0%
Others receiving votes: Shane Battier, Raja Bell, Luol Deng, Keyon Dooling, Chris Paul, Kurt Thomas
Taken from the NBA.com GM Surveys

Please find a way to get this into ASSOC Mode. Maybe we can assign player labels for Future Coaches or it can be random. Make sure superstars are not great coaches so maybe you can figure out a way to include that

Please allow us to edit coaches EVERYTHING. Name, appearance, etc. Much like College Hoops. Coaches, assistants, GMs, trainers. Take away the fake photos. Just put their cyber faces up. Allow us to create a coach if possible. There shouldn't be generics, NOBODY likes them.

I'd like to actually request that coaches be able to be traded. Not in Association, of course, but being able to assign head coaches should occur off-line at the very least. Maybe a hire/fire sort of thing. Did you see how many coaches got canned last season? Scott Skiles is sitting in his living room watching the Bulls on TV, yet he's still pacing the sidelines in NBA 2K8.

add me to those who need custom soundtrax. its crazy that 2k brought us this innovative feature, and now they dont have it while EA does. its such a needed feature for us association people.

we need the ability to chose/play custom playlists during menus, and then separately setup custom playlists during in game moments (and adding reverb to these to make it sound like "in stadium" like EA does would be cool to, but I'll take what I can get).

revamping the post game would be nice too, do not allow such easy backdowns or establishing easy position every time down the court. also give the defense balance, a way to counter every single move the offense can do. visual cues and animations for this would make it much better also. and then finally programming the AI to use this also, forcing us to have to mix up our post shots and work to establish good shots in the post. It's time for a real post game in 2k hoops, to take it to the next level..

          thanks 2k for 2k9!

They should make the crowd go "ooooooooooooo" not "ohhhhhhhh....." whenever there's a block lol.

Also when a person does get a block they should show some aggression, not act like they did something wrong.

Include the option for the user to flip a called offensive play on the fly so every action is taking place on the opposite side of the court. For instance, "SG Iso Wing" takes place on the left side of the court. So flipping this play would have it take place on the right side of the court instead.

As for how to flip the called offensive play, let's keep it simple. How about bringing up the playcalling screen first by pressing right on the D-pad, then needing to press and hold down the Back button while selecting the play in order to confirm the flip. (Not to be confused with calling a Timeout which requires tapping the Back button.) Only a suggestion.

                  Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist

The only thing missing from this game still is the drive and kick game.

Everything from nba offences creates the drive and kick game. Pick and roll creates an open shot for the ball handler or the man picking, or theres help d on the penetration and the ball is kicked out where it will be shot or another penetration will happen and on and on it goes until the most open shot is created.

Same goes for helping in the post on isolation. The defender is coming and going from his guy to the post man, the post man either takes the shot or tries to drive through it or passes it out where the defender who was coming and going may be off balance from trying to help in the post where the player on the perimeter can now catch and shoot or have an advantage on penetration as the guy helping is out of position.

The pick and roll defence is a lot better, but players faceguarding other players off the ball is incredibly dumb and the most unrealistic part of this game IMO.

The other thing I dont like is when you press turbo off the screen the player youre using often tends to go sideways into an animation instead of going where you're pointing the joystick, often making a wide open shot off the screen not there anymore as the defender is back once you do go forward where you wanted to go in the first place. I dont know why they added this as it wasnt in 2k8 as you could just explode or just go straight without using turbo in 2k8 as opposed to 2k9 where you get 'stuck' so to speak.

Add the drive and kick game where the ROTATIONS on defence will be the biggest key to the game and you have the most realistic and greatest game ever IMO. The only teams I've seen faceguard guys off the ball are the Spurs and Mavs when they were playing the Suns in the playoffs and that was based on pure strategy of trying to make Nash and Amare beat them alone, and if you want to use that strategy then the help defence slider should become more important as well.

ADD THE DRIVE AND KICK GAME 2K10!!!!! Defensive rotations= realism

                    In-Game Issues

-unrealistic amount of Points in Paint
-interesting animations when PG is trying to run a play and opposing point knocks him off track
                    -high FG% in games
                    -not enough offensive rebounds
-PGs shoot way too many 3’s with 20 seconds on shot clock
                    -too many assists by CPU…still…
                    -hook shot overly dominant
-too many double teams in pick and roll on ball handler, leaving open streaking forwards
-too many post touches, too few pick & pops
                    -no drive and kick game
                    -post game way too dominant
-lack in variance of ball handling for players (Paul dribbles no better than Jamal Tinsley)
                    -no or few injuries
-computer does bad job managing timeouts and late game situations
                    -way too many blocks
-too easy to reach in and get steal (CPU)
-game could feel more fluid when driving to rim instead of awkward animations
-no control over passing by superstar PG (who does behind the back pass in traffic across lane?)
-too few turnovers committed by CPU in every game (they run like a 2.5 to 1 AST-TO ratio)

-too many players going entire season with 82 games played
-too many point guards averaging over 6 APG (there are about 10 in NBA…)
-league gets bloated with 90+ rating, diluting the superstar player
-too many dominant 2nd year/3rd year players

-star players (depending on their clutch and mental makeup) demanding or running away from last shot

Couldn't have said it any better. Except for the offensive rebounds issue, I think those are fine for the most part.

There need to be MORE turnovers/fouls. We need:

                      -Errant passes
-More over the back calls (I see one of these only once maybe every 15 games or so)
-More traveling violations (there is at least one of these per game in the NBA)
-Actual 3 second in the key calls
-Fouls called for moving screens in pick n roll situations/baseline screens (this is HUGE for realism)
-Blocking fouls occasionally called when using tight lock-on D and the offensive player is driving to the hoop

After that, 2k needs to work on better defensive fundamentals and this game will be amazing. There needs to be more collapsing on penetration. Help D Strength at 100 helps but it isn't enough. CPU defenders need to play with some sense of urgency (especially your own defenders). There should be way more physical play in the paint area BEFORE the ball is passed down there. Players should be fighting/nudging for position more often. TOO MANY TIMES does a CPU offensive player get position right underneath the basket for an easy layup simply because my braindead CPU teammates wont lay a body on him. This combined with the ridiculous back door cuts leads to the high PiTp.

As somebody else mentioned, upon this collapsing defensive scheme, there needs to be good D rotation. After kicking it out, the D should close and you should be forced to rotate the ball to find the open shot.

Offensive plays need to be ran with more urgency. I'm tired of seeing guys jog to their spots on O. On some of the longer more intricate plays, it literally takes the whole shot clock to run the play. You know how your guys hustle to get open when you call a quick screen (Y)? They should use that same hustle/urgency when getting into other offensive sets.

Also wanted to get some fixing in the department of offense when the flipping time has decreased to 4 seconds or less and the computer hasn't shot yet. WHY does it always hit those miracles regardless of who's shooting? Realism is definitley not this.

Also, during the half-time, there is still a lazy commentary. Talk about something seriously like every category that's important. Talk about the top four scorers, assists, rebounders, and whatever else is a factor. Three players scoring 20+ points and the thing that's talked about is the 5 rebounds by both of my big men when they're not even the highest rebounders. Fix the commentary.......

On court chemistry. gives subbing a tactical approach. If a team is on a run and you sub a player, that on court chemistry can affect the run.
take a player out that's hot cause he's fatigued can possibly cool off when put back on the court.
you can even influence on court chemistry by incorporating it into team practices.
this will balance the powers of chemistry vs fatigue nicely.

Please add the tools you can use in 2k9's Team-up mode into the regular offline and human vs. human game. In that mode you can push offensive players around. You can push bigs out of the paint or wing players away from it. Offensive players can jab step left or right to get free off the ball. Being able to push players around sure would help combat guys trying to abuse the paint even more while being able to jab step would help us free up a player to receive an inbound pass when being pressured. I'm surprised they didn't include these options with the offline and head to head game.

They should also add the body up/deny ball option to defending the inbound pass.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I didn't read all the pages so I don't know if this was mentioned already, but I think they need to add pre-game warm-ups.. You have the option to practice lay-up lines, jump shots or free throws with your team for 10 minutes in your warm-ups at the arena before the game. This will help you get the feel of each shot animation before the game if you choose. If not you can just hit "A" or "Start" and move on. This also adds to the realism.

Bring back player intros for those of us who like to see them.

Have REAL practices in Association mode. When you pick for your team to work on a drill, then you go to the practice mode with your team and begin that drill. How good you complete it determines your ratings increase. No more automatic, I pick this practice and this intensity, so I get this pre-set boost.

Get rid of development all together. Practice handles this.

Figure out how to have the personalities assigned to each player show more of a role in the season other than just the chemistry. Meaning have some cut scenes set up, or fictional story lines pop up when a losing streak happens, etc. (not sure if this is in 2k9 yet)..

Incorporate in season contract negotiations, D-League, pre-season and 10 day contracts.

Also give us the ability to make CPU trades in our Association if we want to. If a big trade deadline deal is done and I want to reflect it in my association, I should be able to. After all it's our game we paid $60 for, so if we want to customize it we should be able to.

That's it for my requests for now. Besides making the street mode more enjoyable with actual NBA jerseys and teams being recognized, maybe a street tournament should be added. You can take the Cavs vs. Pistons in 3-on-3 action or maybe a 5-on-5 street tournament with actual teams (not sure if this is in either, but I don't think so)..

                              Thanks for reading.. Peace

There should be some sort of uniform creator or editor, this would go great with create a team. I wish we could add teams without taking other teams out.
