    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

i just traded jason terry and a first round pick for OJ Mayo.

is this a good one? i need to get my old players out and stackhouses contract is out at the end of this year and terry has a bigger contract than mayo. so it serves both purposes of lower cap debt and making my team younger.

i plan on shifting kidd, but with his size contract i cant find a way that would even be possible.

noone has a cap space of 21 mill!!!

        Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

Well...although I'm 26 gms into my association I'll be trading Iverson to Detroit tonight. Its kinda cool to do this far into my association, because since I have CPU trades turned off not a single trade has taken place yet. It will be cool to get a league trade done in the league, now that I am into December.

Who else will be making this move happen where ever they might be in association?

I am making the move. I found that in order to get salaries to match up, you have to edit McDyess' contract from 5 million to around 7 million. This should not matter anyways as he is an expiring contract. I am just the third team involved giving and receiving a 2nd round pick.

Im doing it as Im Detroit but unless there is a way to force trades through when a player is injured then Im forced to wait until Billups comes back in 1-2 weeks before I can do it. Im currently 5-5 in my association with Detroit, we seem to win tough games, ie. Boston, Phoenix yet we lose to Sacramento so figure that out.

Yea...I edited McDyess' contract and Iverson's. My rosters included Cheick Samb too so he was part of the deal like in real life. Those same rosters had Chris Anderson and Smush Parker signed to 1yr veteran minimums; they had to be included so that Denver didn't have too many players.

              I didn't do the 2nd rounder 2nd rounder swap....

Here's how my trade went down:

              Nuggets Send:
              Iverson (DET)
              Parker (DET)
              Anderson (DET)
              Atkins (PHI)

              Pistons Send:
              Billups (DEN)
              McDyess (DEN)
              Samb (DEN)
              2009 2nd Rd (PHI)

              76ers (Me) Send:
              Willie Green (DEN)

Again I had to edit McD's contract and Iverson's to reflect what ESPN had for their 2009 salary. Iverson's went down, and McD's went up.

I wanted to move Willie Green and saw this as my perfect opportunity. Denver gets a viable back-up to J.R. Smith, and I get rid of Green and recieve Chucky Atkins who has 1 yr left and I also get a 2nd rounder too.

This deal went thru w/ no problems...

Chef - I believe you'll have to wait until Billups is healed up before you can trade him.

                Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

For those interested...If you've noticed there have been quite a few significant players signed to extensions/exercised 09-10 options; guys who would otherwise become FA's in the 2009 or 2010 offseason.

                Players are as follows:

                Extensions:
                Jason Maxiell - 4yr $20 mil
                Andrew Bynum - 5yr $57.4 mil
                Danny Grainger - 5yr $60-64 mil (I decided on $62m)
                Martell Webster - 4yr $20 mil

Edit each of the above players' contract's via player edit in your association. Add the amount of yrs to the existing contract; how you decide to disburse the money over the amount of yrs is up to you. I can show you how I did it for each player, but I'm at work right now so I can't provide this infor until later tonight at the earliest.

-FYI- When you look at the players contract it should have the existing yr as is, and the 4 to 5 yrs you added (depending on who it was) w/ the money they should get over that span.

The only player I haven't done so far is Webster.

                Exercised Options:
                Brandan Wright - Exercised
                Marcus Williams - Declined
                Marco Bellinelli - Exercised
                Rudy Gay - Exercised
                Kyle Lowry - Exercised
                Mike Conley - Exercised
                Jarvaris Crittenton - Exercised
                Sean Williams - Exercised
                Renaldo Balkman - Exercised
                Corey Brewer - Exercised
                Randy Foye - Exercised
                Ian Mahinmi - Exercised
                Rajon Ronda - Exercised

In order to have these players whose 2009-10 options were exercised stay/leave their respective teams. Go into their contract and where it says 'OPTION' change it to none. The money should remain in the 2nd yr regardless, and instead of having an option for that 2nd yr they now are signed thru that yr.

The only guy I've done so far is Rondo. For Marcus Williams I'm thinking you can take OFF his 'Option', and then zero out his 2nd yr.

I'll be doing the rest of the 'Exercised Options' tonight in my association.

                  Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

To carry on with my Houston game, currently stand at a 6-0 record and about to face the Lakers.

Easly beat the Thunder 113-86. This was the game Artest finally showed up in and lead the game in scoring with 32 to go along with 9 rebounds. Yao was surprisingly quite as he ended up with 10 points and 6 rebounds but he only played 24 minutes. Had a a 25 point lead going into the forth quarter and had that horrible lineup of Brooks, Head, Battier, Hayes and Landry on the floor and was expecting the samething that happened in the Memphis game to happen. Luckly, Aaron Brooks stepped up and got into the lane and made a few shots and he ended up with 20 points for the game.

Next up was Boston, I was expecting a close game but we rushed to a 15-5 lead, the amazing thing was that I felt it should of been a 15-0 lead because Ray Allen hit a three with Tmac all over him and then Pierce hit a mid range jumpshot with Artest all over him. Tmac ended the game with 35 points and Yao had 24 points and 9 rebounds. Got a 21 point lead going into the forth and was expecting some sort of charge by the Celtics but Brent Barry stepped up and started nailing three after three by coming off scnrees. He shot 5 from 11 from downtown during the game and ended with 23 points.

Started our road trip in Porland. Another quick start and won the first quarter 34-19 and have a 15 point lead, extended that to 17 by the half, it was extended again by the end of the 3rd quarter to 19. Tmac ended with 36 points and 7 assists while Yao chimed in with 29 points and 9 rebounds. Artest also scored in the twenties as he finished with 24. Alston had 9 points and 10 assists aswell as we won 119-101.

Got the Clippers next and we built a 27-17 lead with 2 minutes remaining in the 1st and the Clips went on a 8-0 ran and the quarter finished with a 27-25 lead to us. Exploded in the 2nd quarter, scoring 38 points in the 2nd quarter. Tmac ended with 31 points and Yao had 26 points and 10 rebounds. Luther Head hit back to back threes at the beginning of the 2nd quarter that gave us a lead going into half time. Houston dispatched them 118-101 in the end.

Chicago has put Kirk Hinrich on the trading block, I thought I would try a few trades to see what would work and it turns out if I send Chicago Rafer Alston, Steve Francis and Von Wafer, they will accept a deal for Hinrich.

I thought about it and couldn't decide if this trade was good because comparing Alston and Hinrich in the game, it seems Alston is better.

Rafer has a better 3pt shooting rating and his handling ratings is alot better aswell at 99 compared to Hinrich's 89. Rafer is also quicker and the passing is the same.

I think it would be better to keep Rafer around as he is shooting 53% from downtown while Kirk is only shooting 47% from downtown.

                  Any thoughts?

6 - 8 with the twolves playing on pro. overall i think its been pretty legit, sometimes i get blown out when playing away and then i'll come home and win a tight one against a top team so i like that aspect. first year playing nba so once i get better with controls and such, im movin up to next leve....oh by the way, my first move in my assoc was trading love and miller back to memphis for mayo : )
Minnesota Gophers - Minnesota Vikings - Minnesota Twins -
                        Minnesota Timberwolves - Minnesota Wild

Thanks for putting that together as it came in handy. This can be a pretty good game once you learn to look past the irritating parts of it, ie. Ben Wallace going for 16 and 13 against me on 8/9 shooting, completely ridiculous. Lost my last game to Cleveland 107-102 thanks to Cleveland shooting 52% from the field and Ben Wallace and Mo Williams lighting me up no matter who I put on them. The biggest annoying part of the game is the God awful collision detection, watching Mo Williams part the sea while "sliding" off of defenders once he goes into his layup animation is enough to make me drink. The backdoor stuff isnt bothering me at all, it happens but not at an alarming rate, but if I see Ben Wallace drop another 8/9 game on me Im going to lower his scoring ratings to the point where he cant hit a dunk in a gym by himself.

On a side note, I hate how they mimic fatigue in this game, Iverson shouldnt be throwing up air balls because hes tired, thats completely idiotic to me. Unrelated, is there a way to see who the CPU is preparing to sub in so you can make appropriate changes? The auto sub option sucks as they left Iverson in the game until he was a 40 in fatigue and I dont need him getting hurt so it looks like Im going to have to take this over. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Decided to start a Charlotta association and move back up to all-star difficulty. I am a big G-force fan being from Alabama myself and I have been a J-rich fan since his days in GS. My record is 5-4 and my next game is against the Mavericks my last one was the Jazz and G-force had 32 while J-rich had 22 or 24.

3-23 with 3 games to go, In a dismal first season. I play with the Atlanta Hawks and did a fantasy draft.

                              starting 5
                              pg-Livingston
                              sg-Ray Allen
sf-Tim Thomas moved him from PF to sf and have Battier coming off the bench.
                              pf-Wilcox
                              c-Haywood

bench- Turiaf, Obryant, Crittenton, George, Reddick, Battier, Hibbert

                              bench warmers
                              Damon Jones, Jared Jeffries, Simean

Only significant trade I made was Leon Powe for Chris Wilcox.

standout so far is with Roy Hibbert. He's been better than I expected.

I plan on canning the coach, not resigning Haywood, offer Livingston a new contract. try to trade Tim Thomas and Damon Jones.
plan on going for more defensive minded players in free agency.

That's rough. Who in the world was your #1 pick? I can't see any stars there.
