    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

It's been a while since I've updated you guys on my Raptors chise, but I swept the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Final by winning four straight to advance, including a triple overtime thriller in Game 3 of the series which saw me come out on top 131-126 in that one. Next up, I take on the Houston Rockets in the NBA Finals. Wish me luck, guys.

      Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I'm 17-14 with my Pacers.......Granger avg about 20 ppg........I tend to lose in the 4th quarter just like real life........I play on HOF with bluelightnings sliders....and the outsiders rosters....Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to play much since I got the patch but I dont' want to start over.....

I now have Boris Diaw and Matt Harpring on my team.......I traded away Murphy so the only pf's I have now are Diaw and McRoberts(he's been playing great)......But now Diaw is hurt so I start Mcroberts and Jeff Foster backs him up at PF.......I start Hibbert at C and he gets about 2 blocks per game......

      I love this game......

After a 119-110 overtime win in Game 2 to take a 2-0 lead in the series, Toronto promptly got blown out in Game 3 of the series to see their series lead get cut to 2-1. However, the Raptors responded with a big 95-90 win in Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead putting them one win away from the championship! I'm anxious to see if I can take the trophy in Game 5.

So other than Bosh and I guess Calderon who've been the deciding factors which made Toronto the best team in the East?

Solid play from Jermaine O'Neal, Andrea Bargnani and Anthony Parker have all contributed to making Toronto the best in the East.

                    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

The Raptors are the NBA champs after blowing out Houston in Game 5 of the series to win the Finals 4-1. Jermaine O'Neal was named the MVP of the Finals. Now, here's what happened during the offseason:

First, I re-signed my assistant coach to a brand new two year contract that pays him $500,000 per year.
Second, I declined the option on F Cedric Simmons, but I picked up the option on F/C Andrea Bargnani.
Third, I re-signed G/F Anthony Parker to a three year contract.
Fourth, I released G Bonzi Wells, F Cedric Simmons, F Will Solomon, F Joey Graham and C Leon Powe. Powe refused to re-sign with me, so I had no choice but to let him walk.
Fifth, I drafted G Clarence Baldwin and F Anders Sundin in the draft, a draft where I had the 30th and 60th overall selections.
Sixth, I signed my first round pick Baldwin to a two year contract, plus an option for another two years; however, I chose not to sign Sundin.
Seventh, I signed C/F Kelvin Cato, C Dion Washington and C Vitaly Potapenko. Note that these were signings the CPU did for me since I didn't have any cap room to sign my primary targets, which included F Shawn Marion. Marion ended up signing a 4 year deal with the Pacers, btw.
Finally, I made a couple of trades. The first trade was dealing G Jose Calderon to the Indiana Pacers for Shawn Marion, who had just signed with Indiana. This trade would be an example of a sign and trade deal, so I got the player I wanted anyway. The second trade was sending C/F Jermaine O'Neal to the Boston Celtics for G Ray Allen. On this one, though, O'Neal wouldn't waive his no trade clause, so I had to turn on trade override and force him to waive it in order to get Allen. I also considered trading Bosh to the Celtics for Kevin Garnett, but I chose not to.

And those are all the moves I did during the offseason. My first pre season game is against the Phoenix Suns.

Thanks for the congrats. To answer the question, with me trading Calderon to Indiana, I'm likely going to have Anthony Parker running the point now.

                          Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I'm doing 58-game seasons at 10 minutes per quarter, with my Celtics. I have always done 82-game seasons, but I never got through more than two seasons since I refuse to sim games. I wanted to get the full experience of an actual association in 2k9, so I chose to go with 58 games. I think it was a smart move.

In my first season, I didn't make many moves. Sam Cassell grew upset, as I didn't play him very often, so I dealt him to Oklahoma City for a second round pick. Then I traded Glen Davis, Patrick O'Bryant, and a pick to Indiana for Roy Hibbert and D.J. Mbenga.

I finished 43-15 in the regular season.

                          Playoff Results
Conference Quarterfinals: BOS 4, PHI 0
Conference Semifinals: BOS 4, IND 0
Conference Finals: BOS 4, CLE 3
NBA Finals: BOS 4, NO 2

Note about Cleveland series: LeBron James was hurt through the entire series, and they still pushed me to 7 games. Pretty frustrating, honestly, but fortunately I was able to win the series and ultimately the title.

                          Offseason
                          - Picked up options on Rajon Rondo and Gabe Pruitt.
                          - Eddie House declined his player option, and I subsequently let him go so I could further groom Pruitt.
                          - I let Leon Powe go, as he was asking for too much money.
                          - Didn't hesitate to waive goodbye to Mbenga.
                          - Signed Joe Smith to a one-year, $2.95 million deal to fill the void Powe left.
                          - Signed Kevin Ollie and Lorenzen Wright to one-year, minimum deals to fill out my roster with a pair of veterans.

                          Roster
C: Kendrick Perkins / Roy Hibbert / Lorenzen Wright
PF: Kevin Garnett / Joe Smith / Brian Scalabrine
SF: Paul Pierce / Bill Walker
SG: Ray Allen / Tony Allen / J.R. Giddens
PG: Rajon Rondo / Gabe Pruitt / Kevin Ollie

I've yet to begin my second season, but I likely will play my first game or two later tonight.

Goals: Three-peat, get Rondo to an All-Star game, shorten regular season minutes of "Big Three" while finding extra time for Walker/Giddens/Pruitt.

I did. Everyone accepted their options except Amare and Lebron.

Amare ended up signing back with Suns and Lebron became a .....Timberwolve. Damn, now I have to face dude for 4 games a year. Oh well.
