    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

    If Brendan Wright is the same person as Brandon Wright on the Warriors, then do the trade immediately. Jason Richardson is very very easy to dominate with because he is an amazing 3 point shooter (with an easy shot to learn) and Wright becomes a beast in the game with the right training and time.

    Then have Mike Miller come off the bench.

    Mo Williams
    Jason Richardson
    LeBron James
    Brandon Wright
    Big Z

    Solid starting 5.

      That trade would make ZERO sense for Charlotte. That means they would have Matt Carroll starting at SG. Let's be serious...

        Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

        UPDATE

        Phoenix Suns: Currently 28-12 and on a 10 game winning streak. I am 16-4 at home and 12-8 on the road. I am struggling in Conference play as I am only 16-9, but in the division I am 5-0 so that is good, especially with the Lakers trailing closely behind me. I am 1st in the Western Conference as well as the best record in the NBA. Surprisingsly, no team is dominating the NBA and every team is basically average.

        Amare Stoudemire: BEAST! That is the only word to describe his season so far. Averaging 26.8 PPG (2nd in the NBA), 9.8 RPG (5th in the NBA), 1.4 APG, 2.0 BPG. He is also shooting an amazing 60% from the field and 80% from the FT line. Just came off a 60 point game (also grabbed 12 rebounds and had 4 dimes). Also has had a 50 point game and a few 40 point games. Just cannot be stopped.

        Jason Richardson: A huge addition to the team. He is averaging about 19 PPG since the trade as well as 4 RPG and 3 APG. He is a great 3 point shooter and has some of the nastiest dunks.

        My line-up currently looks like this...

        Steve Nash (94)
        Jason Richardson (85)
        Matt Barnes (80)
        Amare Stoudemire (94)
        Shaquille O'Neal (84)

        Leandro Barbosa (84)
        Grant Hill (81)
        Goran Dragic (74)
        Robin Lopez (72)
        Joey Dorsey (71)
        Jared Dudley (73)
        Dikembe Mutombo (74)
        Von Wafer (71)

        Please give me your opinion on if I should do this trade.

        Phoenix Suns Get:
        Rajon Rondo
        Brian Scalabrine
        Eddie House

        Boston Celtics Get:
        Goran Dragic
        Leandro Barbosa

        In my Association, the Celtics traded for Jose Calderon who is now the starter. Rondo comes off the bench and Goran Dragic doesn't seem to be a good "Future Steve Nash". I believe Rondo would be the perfect player for this team once Nash is gone.

        I get rid of Barbosa, who is a big loss (averaging 14 PPG), but his minutes have declined since I got Richardson. Eddie House would help the team and bring a spark, but I would let him walk in FA after the season.

        Basically, think I should pull the trigger? Maybe add a pick? Give a pick? I don't know. Barbosa always progresses well and in the 2nd/3rd season, and usually gets up to a 90+ rating, but I have no use for him right now because of J-Rich. I hate playing with him as PG. Please HELP!!

          Update on My Knicks Association:
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Ended up beating the Raptors (4th Seed) in 7 games in the 1st Round
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Faced Celtics in the Second and recognizing that any semblance of realism would die if the Knicks beat the Celts in the playoffs, I decided to simulate the series. Celts won in 5 games.
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Finals: LAL over Cavs in 7.
          Kobe takes home the MVP.
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Offseason Fun:
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Retired coaches: Adelman, Sloan, Dunleavy, Karl
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          G - Stephon Marbury declined option
          C - Eddy Curry declined option
          SF - Quentin Richardson exercised option
          C - Jerome James exercised option
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Resigned C - David Lee 3 yr/6.89 Mil
          Did Not Resign G - Nate Robinson
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          * I love Nate but for a player that I'm not overly effective with I didn't want to shell out $11 M/Year (He ends up with ATL at 5 yrs/56 Mil)

          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Pre-Draft
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Well, here comes the fun part. I've spent a good deal of time editing prospects, I have about 45 or so done. I'm hoping to add a SG in the 1st round while snagging a PG in the 2nd.
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          I've been scouting Terrence Williams (Louisville) pretty tough. I like his open court game. The workout scouting is pretty dope. The 5 on 5 feature is awesome. It was awesome to see Demar DeRozan face up against Terrence Williams. The Mock Draft has DeRozan falling to my Knicks at the 19th spot but I feel like a cheeser getting him that late. He's got serious potential and that alone should have him in the lottery.
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Surprisingly, I played well with Jeremy Pargo (Gonzaga) during the scrimmage while I was shooting airballs with Eric Maynor (VCU). Stephen Curry (Davidson) was straight lights out from 3, Tyler Smith (Tennessee) looked good, too, but Chandler's my man at SF.
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          '09 Draft

          1. Warriors - C - Hasheem Thabeet (80)
          2. Wizards - F - Blake Griffin (80)
          3. Nets - G - Brandon Jennings (79)
          4. Clippers - F - Patrick Patterson (79)
          5. Sixers - F - Earl Clark (79)
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Demar DeRozan (80) went to MIN at #12
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Knicks selected G - Terrence Williams (75), 1st Rnd Pick 19 and G - Lester Hudson (74) [Tennessee- Martin] 2nd Rnd Pick 45
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Notable 1st Round Picks:
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          James Harden (83), 8th to SA
          Chase Budinger (78), 21st to DEN
          Ricky Rubio (76), 23rd to MIL
          Stephen Curry (77), 24th to UTAH
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          I'm pretty sure I made the prospects too high (I guess potential doesn't really affect the OVR) seeing how there were still 75 OVRs in the 2nd round, but oh well.
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          Free Agency
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>

          Knicks sign C - Ted Solomon to a 1 yr/ 442k contract

          09-10 Lineup
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          G - Chris Duhon (75)/ Lester (74)
          G - Terrence Williams (76)/ Q. Richardson (74)
          F - Wilson Chandler (86)/ Gallinari (78)
          F - Al Harrington (79)/ T. Thomas (75)
          C - David Lee (80)/ C. Andersen (71)
          <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
          So basically my squad is about the same talent-wise as last year. Still, Chandler is developing into a beast and I like my draft picks as well. Williams will be nice in the open court and Hudson is basically a scoring machine that can't play D or pass. I'm going to have a ton of cap room next season, so I'll be looking to develop Chandler, Williams, Gallinari and Hudson while hopefully adding a star player.

              I would not do that trade. The Suns are all about run and shoot. Rondo isn't a shooter so he really wouldn't blend in well. Plus Boston is in love with him so I personally wouldn't break up what they have. Barbosa can just be that 6th man to come off the bench and put up points. You always need that type of guy off the bench.

              Your team sounds really fun to use. So many weapons.

              Kudos on making those prospects. I did about 25 and that was quite a task! I think you rated them pretty fairly. Update us on how well they do in their first year.

              IMO you need a big man for some type of defensive presence. Is Lee your long-term center? Isn't he undersized? Won't that cause problems on the boards?

              BTW you LUCKED OUT big time with Curry declining the option. His salary is ridiculous. What's your cap space looking like for next year? There is a good chance Amare will be available for you or even LaMarcus Aldridge.

                I'll certainly keep you guys updated on the Rooks. It took a ton of time to edit to my liking but it's well worth it and dazpoo23 made a great spreadsheet for the 09 class. It was a huge help and a good place to start editing:

                http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2038843410

                www.draftexpress.com is another good resource along with nbadraft.net like stewaat mentioned.

                Yeah, Lee is undersized but he performs well on the glass. I locked him up for 3 years + a 1 year player option. Not the best decision but it was like 4 in the morning and I was giddy about finally making it to the offseason. I really like his energy and his size hasn't been too huge of a problem. Basically, I want to get to the point where I'm just outscoring teams, running and gunning.

                I think I have something like $40 mil in cap space next year. That will be fun. Curry and Marbury sat on the pine all year, that was the only way to make sure they opted out.

                BTW, what sliders/difficulty are you using, stewaat? I played on pro but I think I'm going to bump it up to all-star...

                Boss:

                I'm with stewaat on the Rondo trade...keep beasting with Amare!

                  Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

                  I'm also editing the Prospects right now. It's some work but also pretty much fun since I do not really know anybody except the top 5 guys. (not very widespread info in Germany). So it's fun to learn something about the 09 draftclass.

                  After loosing this tight match against the Pacers I was able to bounce back.

                  We beat the Lakers for the second time this season in an OT win at Staples Center. Pretty low scoring game, just about in the 90ies. Both teams shot very weak from the floor. Nowitzki ended up to be my man with 30/14 and 5 blocks! (some nice D .. hes only averaging 1.2 blocks per game til now).
                  Howard was my man in OT scoring 7 straight points to lift me to the win. I lost JJ Barea with a hip injury but he is still cleared to play.

                  The next game was against the Kings. I was really suprised how well Donte Greene and Jamal Thompson played. They gave me a hard time but in the 4th the Kings collapsed.
                  Josh Howard scored 31 points and Jason Terry and Jason Kidd added about 16/9 each. Dirk did not have to play his heart out .. was more like 16/10 I think. Im always glad when he does not have to carry the whole team.

                  So, I am 8-8 now .. kind of strange that I can't build a nice streak to get out of the 50ies. Right about now I think about dealing James Singleton for a draft pick since he is not glad with his IR situation. Erick Dampier and Jason Terry both want to see more minutes but at least Damp has such a bad stamina that I cant give him more PT. I would love to deal him before the deadline or at the end of the season. Diop is younger, in better shape with a lesser contract.

                  About the Suns - Celtics trade

                  I would not do it. The Cs would not give up these three players who played so well during their Championship run last season. Nash still has some years to play (except you dont want to resign him in 2010). So Dragic could really take these two years to develop.

                  BTW nice to hear that Amare is playing so well for you. Hell, he scored 60? I cannot really score more than 35-40p with Dirk even if hes lights out. I just cant do more. So its really cool hearing that Amare is in the 40s regularly.

                  Greetz guys

                    UPDATE

                    So after realizing my team was actually worse than the year before I simmed the season. With about 10 contracts coming off the books and the #1 pick after a 8-21 season, things were looking great for the Knicks.

                    Then I went to play my first game and there was no crowd. I could here them but they were not visible. I've restarted numerous times, no luck. This SUCKS.

                          LeBron is the greatest thing ever on this game. I'm sorry to hear that about your crowd, that stinks.

                          I am going to play all 29 of my games and all my playoff games.

                          Basketball is all about averages so it doesn't both me to play shorter seasons. In baseball you hit 50 HR's to achieve a mark or win 20 games. In basketball you need to average 30.0 PPG or 10.0 APG for a breakout season.

                            Woo... hit a bit of a slide with my Grizzlies.

                            I'm currently 33-25, but have lost three of my last four. Luckily, I faced the Thunder last game. OKC definitely had me on the ropes for most of the second half, and were up by 3/4 for much of the fourth quarter. Then, Mayo and Gay just took over, and I ended up winning by 20. I'll take it, especially with the roster the Thunder have put together in just the first year of my Association. Here's their lineup:

                            PG - Randy Foye/Earl Watson
                            SG - Stephen Jackson/Corey Brewer
                            SF - Kevin Durant/Linas Kleiza
                            PF - Robert Horry/D.J. White
                            C - Darko/Robert Swift

                            Despite needed a good big man... they're definitely on the right track.

                                Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

                                And THAT'S why I turn trades off. Just personally I think they make way too many moves when you leave them on.

                                Here's a deal I'm about to pull the trigger on. I'm the Cavs, 3-2 in the 10-11 season. I just lost @ the Pacers 114-101. They shot 50% and I could never make a run to get back in the game.

                                Delonte West just isn't doing it for me.
                                6.8 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.4 apg, 29% FG, 14% 3PT -- He's not big enough to be considered a good defender at the SG position either.

                                First let me say I signed a couple FA's because I had about $12M in cap space.
                                Cavs sign SG Roger Mason (30 yrs old, 77 ovr) to a 1-year deal @ $4.35M
                                Cavs sign C Etan Thomas (32 yrs old, 71 ovr) to a 1-year deal @ $1.90M

                                This sets me up to move Delonte West to a team that needs him REALLY BAD, the LA Lakers.

                                Cavs receive:
                                SF/PF Vladimir Radmanovic & 2012 1st round pick (next year...they might not get Kobe back)
                                - 30 yrs old, 75 ovr, 1 year left on contract @ $6.88M
                                - Currently getting 13 mpg and averaging 3.3 pts
                                - He can shoot the ball and would be a great guy off the bench to come in and score

                                Lakers receive:
                                PG/SG Delonte West
                                - 27 yrs old, 80 ovr, 1 year left on contract @ $4.62M
                                - Stats above
                                - Honestly I think he's a perfect fit for LA. They currently have Mike James as their starter. James is 35 yrs old and a 71 ovr...they need a PG.

                                What do you guys think?

                                New Cavs lineup:
                                PG Mo Williams
                                SG Roger Mason
                                SF LeBron James
                                PF Rasheed Wallace
                                C Ian North (2nd year center rated a 76 who is a defensive beast and 7'. He's a really, really good player and looks to be my future at center.)

                                Bench:
                                PG/SG Daniel Gibson (Currently averaging 16.0 ppg off the bench...lights out from deep)
                                SG Joey Hill (has been hurt but is coming back...he's very average)
                                SF/PF Vladimir Radmanovic (He can just flat out shoot. I love big guys who can step out and knock down the 3.)
                                PF Antonio McDyess
                                C Etan Thomas

                                With the new lineup I would get bigger and better. Defensively my team is AMAZING. Mason is solid on D, LBJ is a stud, Sheed is pretty good, and North is going to be a good one.

                                It was a tough decision but I like Roger Mason and his ability to be a solid starter. I don't need him to score, I just need him to play D and hit some open shots. Vlad and Boobie are going to provide scoring off the bench with McDyess and Etan providing the D. That's going to be my rotation, 9 guys. I think it's going to work out pretty well and I'm happy with the trade. Hopefully Kobe goes elsewhere and that future 1st rounder turns into a top 5 pick.

                                The Lakers definitely got much better with the trade IMHO. They really needed a PG and now they have a pretty good one. They're in the West and I already beat them so it doesn't really affect me all that much. Maybe they'll beat some East teams and help me get a better seed in the playoffs.
