    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I wanted to clarify, I made the trades up to where they are in real life and signed all the free agents to their teams then I turned trades off for my season so it would be the exact roster that it really is for the rest of the season then I will turn trades back on in the offseason.

      Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I'm in the second season in my association with the Raptors. Heres a breakdown of what went down in the 1st season:

All Star Break made a big trade for my team
Traded Anthony Parker; Khris Humpheries and 1st round pick to
Wizards for Nick Young, and Andrea Blatche.
      Went 47-35 regular season
Lost 1st round to Magic (It wasn't even close; their 3-point shooting is insane and with D-Howard in the middle I couldn't drive the paint with Nick Young and couldn't post up welll with Bosh or Bargnani.

      Houston Rockets win Championship.

      Chris Paul was League MVP
      Rick Aldeman COY
John Salmons 6th Man of Year
D-Howard (aka Superman) Defensive player of the year.

Draft; I only had a 21st pick in the 2nd round so I didn't care about the draft. I have game generated rookies, but I edited most of the rookies to make a realistic type rookies class. (Halfway through the 2nd season 5 rookies are very good; 3 are on the verge of greatness and taking bad teams to playoff's)

Free Agency; I loose Matrix and Joey Graham who wanted to test free agency.
I pick up Nick Youngs Team Option.
I end up signing Ron Artest 4year/56M to replace the Matrix.
Trade Marcus Banks to Portland for Sergio Rodriguez to free up some cap space.

      Other Teams in Free Agency:
Sacremento really comes along, they sign Paul Milsap, and Memet Okur away from the Jazz. (They made a mid-season trade to aquire J.R. Smith)
They really have a nice team right now

      Thunder sign Jason Kidd

NJ Nets pick up Shawn Marion

Most of the other signings are really worth mentioning.

      2nd Season:
My line up is as follows along with the previous year ppg.
PG: Jose Caldron (10ppg/7asst)/Roko Ukic(5ppg)/Sergio Rodriguez
SG: Nick Young (12ppg/2asst)/Jason Kapono (10ppg)/Joey Graham (5ppg)
      SF: Ron Artest (14ppg Rockets)/Jason Kapono/Joey Graham/Rookie SF
PF: Chris Bosh (21ppg/8rbs)/Andrea Blatche (7ppg/7rbs)/ Nathan Jawai
      C: Andrea Barganani (14ppg/6rbs)/Andrea Blatche/Nathan Jawai/Patrick O'Brian

I start off 5-1 then I loose my back up point gaurd Roko Ukic (not that bad) then the next game I loose Nick Young for 2-3 Weeks. Now that really hurt cause Young was averaging 16pts/gm. So with a back-up PG and starting SG out I have trouble penatrating the paint and hittings the open 3's that are cause because teams pay so much attention to my big men. I loose 2 of the next 3 games.

1 week later I loose Chris Bosh who is averaging 22ppg and 9rbs for 3-4 weeks. Now my team is in trouble. I get Roko Ukic back but that's not going to help that much. I also loose Andrea Blatche 2 games later for a couple of days.

I loose 7 of the next 9 games which puts me at 8-10.

Finally late November I get Nick Young back against the Lebron's, but it doesn't help his first game back he doesn't do too good and we get blown out yet again. But the next game against the C's (who dont have KG injured) Nick Young and Andrea Barganani goes for 30 and helps up to a much needed win.

For the next game I get Andrea Blatche back as well and he goes for a double double as we win 2 in a row. And Chris Bosh is due back any day now.

December 6th we get CB4 back against the C's (with KG now) and it's a close game that we win. We play well through December (I'm glad to have everyone back) and at the start of the new year things look like this:

15-13 record 2nd in the Atlantic

      PG: Jose Caldron (8ppg/8asst)/Roko Ukic(7ppg)/Sergio Rodriguez(3ppg)
SG: Nick Young (18ppg/2asst)/Jason Kapono (10ppg)/Joey Graham (5ppg)
      SF: Ron Artest (12ppg Rockets)/Jason Kapono/Joey Graham/Rookie SF
PF: Chris Bosh (22ppg/8rbs)/Andrea Blatche (7ppg/8rbs)/ Nathan Jawai
      C: Andrea Barganani (20ppg/8rbs)/Andrea Blatche/Nathan Jawai/Patrick O'Brian

      League leading scorer Lebron 28ppg
      Leading Rb: D-Howard 9rbs
Assist: Beno Udrich (yeah) and Chris Paul 9asst
      Steals: Chris Paul 2.5
      Blocks: D-Howard 3.21

The Clippers have the leagues best record at 24-4 (yeah I know the Clippers)
And as of now no other teams are really breaking away from the pack 3-4 games below or above .500.

I'm really liking how things are looking right now Chris Bosh is doing what he does of course. Andrea Barganani is playing great and second in the All-Star running for centers behind Superman and Nick Young is looking like he's going to be a Super Star.

im about to start my association with the Kings, reason is they have been terrible lately and are a young squad that looks fun to build up but the question i have is

how do you all play your 82 game schedule

right now i plan on playing 2 games and simulation 2 games and doing that....by doing that if i play 2 games a day i can get through a season in 21 days

but i was just wondering how you all like playing you association

every game or just every other game

also do you all control all 32 teams, so you can control transactions and drafting for teams or just your own teams

            Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I personally only play 29 season games. This way I'm fully involved in the season, and don't lose interest in it. I play best of 3 playoff system. The real NBA season and post-season is way too overwhelming for a video game.

Finally won my first ever championship with the Lakers I only did the best of 3 in each playoff series and it was me and the 76ers in the finals and I beat them 2-0.

I decided to resign my position the second year instead of starting all the way over to see if I could win with a new team and this time I chose the suns both steve nash and shaq are gone but I have a decent team still and am 20-22 right now.

                  Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

In my first year with the Blazers in association mode. 9 Mins/Superstar difficulty.

So far im 13-7. 2nd in the conference.
Im looking at the league leaders..everything seems pretty sim.
                  1. Allen Iverson 28.4 ppg.
                  2. LeBron James 28.1 ppg.

The standings look pretty sim too. Celtics and Lakers leading the way as 1-2. However the Cavs are freaken 7-12. So that needs to change...and fast.

Anyway on to my franchise. Before the year started, I traded Travis Outlaw, 2nd round pick, and some bench scrub to the Hornets for James Posey.
Right now I am LOVING the game. I just had a heartbreaker in a double OT game against the Wizards, 132-139 loss. Most of my losses are close games, besides a RAPING by Houston which was like 82-103. But im loving the realism of the game. One game I drop 98, the next I drop 87 but win. I dropped 120 against the Knicks.

All the stats are perfect. Roy is averaging 22 ppg. Oden is 16ppg with 8 rpg. Blake has 7 assists per game. Rudy is dropping 3's like crazy. Aldridge with 18 ppg.

Im facing the first place Celtics next game...wish me luck.

                    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

With Miami. Just starting season 2.

Cavs won the Championship against the Rockets I think and Bron was MVP.

We just missed out on the playoffs in season one and ended up with the 12th Pick. I picked up Earl Clark (I've edited the whole rookie class). We didn't need a PG or SG and the PF's and C's in this draft are terrible (after The Beat, Griffin & Monroe)

We let Quinn go on FA and I picked up Iverson for the MLE for 3 years. (I still think he's got it...and although he'll be old by the end of his contract I think that 5 mil for AI is a bargain).

So my team at the moment is.

                    Chalmers/Iverson
                    Wade/Iverson/Cook
                    Beasley/Clark/Jones
                    Haslem/Beasley
                    O'Neal/Mark 'The Cancer' Blount

Portland got way better in the offseason somehow hooking up Lamar Odom and Marion without losing anyone. Check out that 9 man rotation - Blake, Bayless, Roy, Fernandez, Marion, Odom, Aldridge, Oden, Pryzbilla. They got Hansborough late in the draft so he'll probably fit in well there as a 10th man.

Boozer ended up at the Thunder!

Clippers went mental and signed David Lee & also got Greg Monroe in the Draft so they have a frontcourt of Kaman, Camby, Z-Bo, Lee & Monroe so there aren't enough minutes to go around.
So, I was thinking of dishing off The Cancer and rubbish and a pick for Kaman but in a player for player trade it feels like a rape but am I justified by saying that Kaman is not going to get the minutes he wants and is on a heavy 4 year contract at big money which I'm willing to take on to get a big man and they get the Blount salary off the books at the end of the year.

O'neal's 23 million is up at the end of the year so I'll probably let that drop off at the end of the season and see if I can get someone in the big Summer of 2010.

Any suggestions of other players I could get to help my team this year. We did well in preseason but I still don't think that team makes any noise in the playoffs this year without another big man.

                    Any suggestions on trades/players?

Miami Heat (1st Season of Association)

                      13-10

                      - Traded Beasley/Haslem/Jones for Stoudemire/1st Rounder
                      - Traded Blount/1st Rounder/2nd Rounder for Mike Miller
                      - I originally picked OKC and resigned so when I chose Miami the CPU already signed Mikki Moore

Not one to usually make 2 big trades like those ones; but I think they were decent trades and I'm trying to set a 2010 plan. As well as make a championship run.
                      - There's been no trade as I turned of CPU trades but will turn them on in the off-season

PG- Chalmers (7 Pts, 5 Ast)
                      SG- Wade (32 Pts, 8 Ast, 7.5 Reb, 2.5 Stl, 2 Blk)
                      SF- Miller ( 16 Pts, 5 Ast, 4.5 Reb)
PF- Stoudemire (24 Pts, 9 Reb, 2 Stl)
                      C- O'Neal (12 Pts, 7 Reb, 1.5 Blk)

Quinn, Cook, Moore, Moon, and Anthony are my key bench contributors.

                      - Plan to keep this team the same next year excluding minor changes. Probably won't make a significant trade until summer of 2010.
                      - Going to resign Quinn, Moore, Anthony and possibly Moon as I already have Diawara and Wright for 2 more years

Play-offs in 6 games, I'll update in a few days probably.

i think i found my team with the Dallas Mavericks. Yes they are a star powered team, but at year 1 thier in rebuilding mode as players will retire soon and they are almost looking to go into a new direction

depending on how my team is i can either trade Kidd or just let him walk at the end of the year. Stackhouse and Terry and Dampier will be gone in a year or 2

Atlanta Hawks- 29 game seasons-PC Version

Im in my 7th season. never made the playoffs yet.

currently 10-13 with 6 games to go 2 games out of the 8th spot.

current lineup through various trades, free agent signings throughout the years.

pg-chauncy billups - picked up half way through season. Richard Jefferson for Chauncy. has an expiring contract. I feel this was a good trade because I was able to clear cap space for next off season and still remain competitive.

sf-brandon rush- off season free agent signing, also allowed me to trade Jefferson.

sg- Hall- draft pick this off season

pf- Kevin Garnett- tiers quickly and production has dropped of considerably. signed 2 season ago. contract expires in 2 more seaason.

c- Tim Duncan -tiers quickly and production has dropped of considerably. will be a free agent and I wont resign him. I traded my first round pick, in 2 seasons, and a young PF who was ranked in the upper 70's to get Tim.
Im trying to clear cap space for next off season.

                          bench
Marbury-expiring contract, Kyle Korver , Ariza, Nazir Mohammed, Roy Hibbert, a pf I drafted-will resign, Wilcox-expiring contract.

next year Ill be 30 million under the cap, and there are a good number of free agents. I plan on trying to sign either Horford who's ranked in the low 90s or Amare Stoudamire who's also ranked in the 90s. I plan on resigning Chauncy Billups and my PF. Ill sign a scrubby pg and draft a pg-pending on draft position.

I'm playing close to .500 almost through the end of November. I wanted to improve my inside scoring so I pulled the trigger on this deal:

                                Suns get:
                                PF Charlie V
                                PG Luke Ridnour
                                C Dan Gadzuric
                                09 1st rounder

                                Bucks get:
                                PF Amare Stoudemire

I was liking Charlie V's ability to score, but he was going to be a free agent in the offseason and I didn't think I'd be able to resign him. At least not for the money I wanted. Also, right now Al Jefferson is becoming upset with the T-Wolves. If he continues to drop enough before the trade deadline (and I'm still in the playoff race) I'm going to try to package Bogut and others to grab him. The idea of teaming up Jefferson with Stoudemire, Richard Jefferson, and Redd gives me a great chance to do some damage in the playoffs. Only way that's happening is if I can get Jefferson for cheap though.

                                My current line-up:

                                PG Sessions/Bogans
                                SG Redd/Bell
                                SF Jefferson/ Mbah a Moute
                                PF Stoudemire/Alexander
                                C Bogut/Elson

                                Loving playing with this team!!
I WOULD TRADE EVERY GAME I OWN JUST TO HAVE A PERFECT MADDEN.....
