What do we have to do to get our playbook edits to save? Is it Settings, User Profile, Roster, Game Sliders? I totally forgot and I just lost my edits to 12 teams. Pissed.

        Thanks.

No custom playbook. Biggest disappoint about 2k9 is they didn't include the play creator from College Hoops 2k8....very disappointing. I would create my plays too.

Re: Official NBA 2K9 Playbook Thread

Because of the recent trades which happened during the opening weeks of the regular season, I want to post the current starting lineups of all teams who were affected.

              Clippers
              PG - Baron Davis
              SG - Ricky Davis
              SF - Al Thornton
              PF - Zach Randolph
              C - Chris Kaman

This starting lineup pretty much remains the same except Zach Randolph will start alongside Chris Kaman, and Marcus Camby will come off the bench.

              Knicks
              PG - Chris Duhon
              SG - Cuttino Mobley
              SF - Wilson Chandler
              PF - Al Harrington
              C - David Lee

I went with Chris Duhon as the starting PG although a strong argument can be made to start Nate Robinson over him. Wilson Chandler is rated fairly decently now and starts over Quentin Richardson because of that reason. And Al Harrington is rated better than Tim Thomas, so Harrington gets the nod.

              Nuggets
              PG - Chauncey Billups
              SG - J.R. Smith
              SF - Carmelo Anthony
              PF - Kenyon Martin
              C - Nene

Time to make room for J.R. Smith as Chauncey Billups comes on board. J.R. starts at SG now that Allen Iverson is gone.

              Pistons
              PG - Allen Iverson
              SG - Richard Hamilton
              SF - Tayshaun Prince
              PF - Rasheed Wallace
              C - Amir Johnson

Antonio McDyess hasn't returned to the team yet, so Amir Johnson remains as starting C. Amir also starts over Kwame Brown even though Brown is the one starting for the team in real life now. Amir is rated better than Kwame for many of the categories important for this position on this team.

              Warriors
              PG - Jamal Crawford
              SG - Stephen Jackson
              SF - Kelenna Azubuike
              PF - Corey Maggette
              C - Andris Biedrins

It's not unusual for the Warriors to go with a lineup starting primarily athletic and skilled players who range between 6'5" and 6'9". Jamal Crawford at PG is a reach, but it's okay to have him starting for the Warriors, as they don't really need a "pure" floor general-type PG in order to run their system.

I'll post subtle changes in plays for each of these teams' playbook (if any) later.

Re: Official NBA 2K9 Playbook Thread

                  Clippers
PF Pick & Post (1-4 High set)
PG-PF High Screen Roll (Baseline 2 set)
                  PG-PF Pick & Roll (Flex 2 set)

These plays can be useful to call with Zach Randolph in the lineup starting at PF. I would have these plays to replace “Motown Music,” “SG Corner 3,” and “PG-C Pick & Roll 2.”

                  Knicks
                  PG-PF Pick & Roll (Flex 2 set)
Pick & Pop Mid (Flex 3 set)

With Al Harrington at the PF spot, it would be nice to include these plays in order to best utilize his skills. These plays can replace “Screen Low” and “SF Pitch.”

                  Nuggets
                  PG Choice (Flex 2 set)
                  Zero In (Triangle 6 set)
                  Motown Music (Flex 3 set)
Guard Pick & Fade (Flex 3 set)

With Chauncey Billups now as the team’s PG and J.R. Smith becoming the starting SG, the Nuggets playbook needs dramatic changes, and these are plays that work well with those guys in the lineup. Plays like “SG Wing Iso,” “SG Wing Screen,” “PF Decision” and “SG Pick & Pop” can be substituted for the aforementioned four.

                  Warriors
PG Clearout (1-4 High set) / PG Wing Iso (Flex 3 set)
PF High Iso (Triangle 1 set)
                  Zero In (Triangle 6 set)
PF Lone Wolf (Baseline 1 set)

With Jamal Crawford now starting as PG and Corey Maggette starting at the PF spot, the Warriors playbook has undergone major changes as well. The plays mentioned above can replace “SF Create,” “SF Weakside,” “Quick Hit SG,” and “Free SF.”

Now what about the Pistons? Well, I’ve decided that there’s no need to change any plays for this team after the acquisition of Allen Iverson. Now there are plays that can be ran with him and turn out useful like “Baseline Stack,” but that was also the case when Chauncey Billups was on the team. Every play that was ran with Billups as starting PG for this team can also be ran with AI, and conversely none would need to be replaced because of the trade.

for warriors we have to leave one play out so i chose PF Lone Wolf (Baseline 1 set) and keep Zero In since that's a good play.

                                Thanks for this thread Kruza - it's been a lot of help! When you make an update again, do you think you can post a pdf with all the commentary you made the plays? That would help even more.<script>function(){ function hasHandler(e) { return(e && e.toString().indexOf("alert") != -1); } if(hasHandler(window.oncontextmenu) || hasHandler(document.oncontextmenu)) window.oncontextmenu = document.oncontextmenu = null; if(hasHandler(window.onmousedown) || hasHandler(document.onmousedown)) window.onmousedown = document.onmousedown = null; if(hasHandler(window.onmouseup) || hasHandler(document.onmouseup)) window.onmouseup = document.onmouseup = null;})();</script>
