NBA 2k is a very very good game overall. I'm getting NBA Live from the library tomorrow to check it out, but I have a hard time believing it has surpassed 2k yet. Maybe if you are getting tired of 2ks style, it might be fresh to you.

I went with Live this year and I think you make a good point.

I think 2K was starting to feel a bit stale and Live was like a breath of fresh air.

I concede that 2K is the better sim. But I found the controls were beyond me. I know you gotta put in the effort to get the most out of the game, but I just don't have that kind of time.

Live was fresh, played a good solid game, had great intuitive controls...

2K is the hardcore players dream. No question.

Live 09 is like that player who finally takes his game to the next level. He's not a champion, but he has earned respect.

Live has finally delivered a game that mere mortals can enjoy...

and it's about time too.

I have both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions right now, and I think the PS3 players skate more. Anyone else feel this way? For those of you having skating problems are you on the PS3 or 360.

PS3, and this skating crap is driving me nuts. As a previous poster said, it's frustrating to play defense.

They will never die...You know the problem with 2k is??? 2K is not realistic at all! I was playing 2k and Live with a group of my old college biddies last night and we came to a conclusion....

In 2k if I was to score EVERY point with someone like....Gerald Wallace. I can and its nothing you can do about it! Nothing. I will Iso you to death and I can score. Not everytime but Wallace will shoot 30-55 and have 70points. In Live...you cab not do this at all. It seems that live has collsion detection because you cant just get to the rack and score as easily. You will miss if there is players in the paint trying to blaock your shot. 2K is just a defensively flawed game.

Just because a game looks realistic and players have their realistic shots doesn't mean the game is realistic?? My younger brother says 2k is realistic because when you run past the ref he bumps you...WHo cares?!!!?

What is this "morphing" people are talking about?

Morphing is when something turns into something else. Like a dog turns into a cat, or a couch turns into a table... I've never seen any such thing in 2k9...

I was going to say that I guarantee you would not be able to do that on me, but then I thought about default sliders and rosters, and I changed my mind.

On default, you can spin move your way to the paint pretty much everytime and even lock on defense can't prevent that, because the defender either gets pushed back or goes out of position due to the ball handler spazzing all over.
