You really think that raising a certain attribute will affect how they play? Can anyone verify this? I'll test it when I get homeComment

Re: I Have Completely Fixed Every Problem With CPU Play/Assoc Stats/PITP/Shots Off Dr
This thread has gotten so long and so many changes have been applied to teams tendencies, I don't know what to try or implement into my game as far as coaching profile tendencies
. I'm really hoping someone post everyteams Gametempo, run plays, and fastbreak for everyteam.

Can you specify which values you have given to which players?
Am I right to assume you still use Neon's roster as a base for editing?
Thanks in advance.Comment

i'm using "neon" rating scale to fix those values. i don't have time and willing to write down all ratings for each players.

Sucks, if you ask me. No one is on the same page, ever.
Your Ray Allen and my Ray Allen will be different.
I'll have the OG Ray Allen, you guys will have the Bizarro Ray Allen.
Thanks again Goon Squad, Im on the right path to happiness til 2k10.Comment

Re: I Have Completely Fixed Every Problem With CPU Play/Assoc Stats/PITP/Shots Off Dr
I'm startin to think that maybe the way I play defense is the reason I don't see a lot of jumpers off the dribble.

If you pause the video at around 4:58 or 4:59 like I did here, you see a pretty good indication of how I play defense on most players. I don't really smother players like Artest or Bowen, but I play them more close than loose.
It seems to me that some (maybe most) jumpers off the dribble IRL are the result of the defense playing back slightly and almost baiting the ballhandler into a jumper.
I'll try to loosen my defense the next time I play.
And here's an interesting poll for people who have tested these sliders and have had success with the CPU shooting jumpers off the dribble.
Would you say you play your defense tighter, looser or roughly the same as in the image above?
EDIT:

I took this image from Game 7 of the ECSF last year, and the first play of the game was Pierce isolated against LeBron, and as you can see, LeBron is playing roughly the same distance off of Pierce as I was in the 2K9 image. Pierce, however, drove and pulled up for a jumper in the real game, as opposed to driving and kicking it to a not-quite-open Glen Davis as he did in my game of 2K9.
Here's another screen from the very next play. Pierce had used a screen from the elbow (behind the three-point line) and LeBron went underneath it.

Ilgauskas is kinda in the way, but I think you can see where Pierce is and where LeBron is. Once again, Pierce pulled up for the jump shot, but this time he was given room.
So maybe it is me, maybe it's not. I have edits to do and like I said, I'll try to loosen my defense a little bit, but in hindsight, that may not necessarily be the problem.
I'm doing way too much research on this. Boredom sucks.Last edited by RayAP19; 04-18-2009, 06:16 PM.Comment
