I couldn't have said it any better Da_Czar. We aren't saying NBA 2k9 is bad. But since Mike left, creativity have gotten stagnent (I'm talking for me). As far as Live goes. True one man can't do it. But they seem to have built a 92' Dream Team with Mike being Jordan and Brian Chuck Daly, Stephensonmc being Pippen, etc. I did a metaphor more indepth in another post in the Live thread. But its my personal opinion. The proof is in the pudding.

The thing is, 1 guy doesnt make his soldiers. He can lead them, but if they dont have the talent to do what needs to be done, then its not going to get there. Its like putting Phil Jackson on the Memphis Grizzlies. they arent all of a sudden going to become the 2003 Chicago Bulls.

Michael Jordan started out with a no-talent team and took them to the playoffs. Once Phil Jackson and Pippen came he took them to the top of the peak.

NBA Live just needs a new art team and NBA Live can become something amazing.

The gameplay will be better than 2K10 and I'll pay you money if I'm wrong.

But its my personal opinion. The proof is in the pudding.

In my opinion the problem with 2k9 wasn't a lack of creativity, it was a lack of (or not enough of) fundamentals such as court spacing, lack of player speed after playcalling, defesive principles, and some animation hiccups. IMO fixing these issues would easily make 2k10 worth the cash. Most of my gaming is head to head against people I know or team up so I don't get as frustrated as some here. Against a sim playing gamer 2k9 really shines imo.

IMO fixing these issues would easily make 2k10 worth the cash. Most of my gaming is head to head against people I know or team up so I don't get as frustrated as some here. Against a sim playing gamer 2k9 really shines imo.

I'm compelled to reply to this unbelievable denial.

I've been playing 2K since NBA Live 2005.

The biggest problems have been the following:

1. ISOMOTION + Turbo - You literally were skiing on the floor pulling off random animations that you didn't want that lead to turnovers or sliding or clipping or unstoppable moves.

2. Cheese moves - Whoever said 2K is pure SIM is LYING. The game is a dunk fest, off and online. If you go online, the cheesers will use the behind the back get by your player. Once they do that NBA 2K's non-existent defense shines and doesn't come to help. Then the unstoppable dunks galore ruin the whole experience.

Up and under. 100% rate within 15 feet of the basket.

3. Post moves- Completely random and limited. The only sure move is up and under.

4. Sliding - It's ridiculous

That's just a few.

The game is not great, it's just better than NBA Live 09. That's not saying much.

What's the only great thing about NBA 2K? The physics engine. The rim and net. The body models.

and how long did that take? remember when tey said Jordan couldnt lead his team to the finals, and how long did it actually take them? a while. Live isnt going to get good overnight was my point. Its going to take a while.

True but I would counter with the fact that it appears they hand picked that crew. Mike has a proven track record to that I always take into account ID was nice gameplay wise and so was 2k then he leaves and you have what you have so i don't think its hyperbole to say he is more than just a bit player... IMHO of course.

Its going tot ake a while. they are starting fresh more or less. I hope he makes a good game. i really do. Then the other company steps up. Whats really horrible is this and hockey are the the only true american team sports that push one another.

I want both companies to make great games. In the end we have to know that, that they will have issues and sometimes they try to move forward in some area's something else takes a step back. thats how it is sometimes.

All star teams dont gaurantee success either. Look at the Yankee's its been a while for them. lol

It's not denial man. It's my opinion that the game would be substantially better if it addressed some of the issues I had so deal with it or not. I've talked about my issues with the game many times at OS. I wasn't saying it like my list is the only one that matters MJ. The attitudes in these forums are getting ridiculous.

I don't think my reasons are minor MJ. To you maybe they are. To me they are not. The movement during playcalling and court spacing is why the game can seem claustrophobic at times and clogged. Animation is also a major problem imo as that effects a lot of the game mechanics. Defensive rotations and priciples are also important imo.

I have not experienced that pivot 3 but I'm with you that should not be a part of the game.

I don't have a problem with the Post O. It's the lack of options regarding Post D that I take issue with.

Also I shouldn't have to agree with everything you say in order to be cool with. Peace and happy gaming whether on 2k10 or Live 10.

There is NO Dream or Re-deem team that EVER lost. For the record. Dream teams and all star teams or teams with great rosters in seasons are diff. I think EA needs to fork up the cash to get Lynell Jinks, the art director of 2k to EA like they did for Mike Wang. Have him pair up with Ryan and make a Basketball lovers dream come true as far as spectular virtual gaming goes.

Why are you in this thread in the first place if you are talking about ways to improve NBA LIVE with getting ppl from 2K to transfer to EA? I thought this thread was about 2K news not ways to improve Live...

Also it is very evident that Live is outclassed in every aspect by 2K if they were to steal the art director now after they got Mike Wang from 2K for his gameplay insights.

What's funny is that people hated 2k8 but the moment he goes to the Live team he all of a sudden is the savior. After 2k8 came out you had guys like DC talking about how they weren't going to buy the game on day 1 anymore.

I was saying I wouldn't buy it on Day one because I noticed it was $30 on Black Friday which was basically 2 months from release. THat way everything that needs to be patched would have been patched. NOT because I didn't want the game

But this year I will play BOTH games before I make my decision.
