I'm running a quad (intel 9450) & a HD4850 (512). I still got some framerate stuff on 2K cam and pan outs. That wouldn't be the reason i'd skip the PC version though. That would fall to the controls.

Looked up your specs. You have a 250watt PSU. That's really gonna cut you choices for a card down. You could probably run the 3600 series from ATI or the maybe an 8800GT. But you've got a serious power shortage. That's what I don't like about store-boughts. They don't leave a lot of room for upgrading...

It runs everything I've tried so far with max res and no hitches....

P.S. He might want to try Tiger Direct, too....
Quad core and a 4670 should get you home and dry here as well

I'm playing NBA Live and really like it, but I'm a long time 2k'er. I just can't stand the framerate stuff. And having really gotten used to Fifa's control with both sticks and NBA having skills mapped to the RS, as well, I'm wondering if Isomotion will be good enough for controls. Are you saying that I might wanna pass? Please expound about the control for 2k10, please...

Yeah, I figure that'd be enough for myself. Still wondering about my beloved Drive Cam. Without it playing smooth, it's a no-go. I play Baseline High on NBA Live, which isn't quite a Drive Cam, but it does remind me of 2k Cam. What I want is my Drive Cam back with no framerate issues. How did they mess this up so bad over the last two years!

What stinks is that you've got a pretty good rig. It's just not a gaming rig...

                    Re: NBA 2K10 PC thread

So I'm back on 2K10. Gave it another try and I've learned how to deal with the clunky controls a bit better.

I'm having a fluctuating frame rate issue though.

                    4890 1gb, latest drivers
AMD 720 tripple core with 4 cores enabled 2.8ghz
                    4gig 1600 ram
                    Windows 7

The benchmark was clocking at about 87fps which was perfect, no issues. Last night I was playing and my game glitched for a second, then when it came back, the game was kind of stuttery. I was thinking maybe a virus scanner started or something, but not. It was like something was sucking up resources, but nothing abnormal was running. I rebooted and ran the benchmark and it was down to 50fps.

Now playing around with it today, it's in the 50s. I'll adjust some of the .cfg settings and it will hit 66 or sometimes 72, but not the 87 that I was seeing yesterday, and even at 66 or 72, I'm still seeing those stutters. It's frustrating.

Ohh, I didn't know he had an HP with a 250 watt. That's some BS right there. Couldn't he get one of those low pro 9600s ? They're passive cooled and don't use a 6 pin power connector. Check it..

I had a looked at the overclocked 9600. It might be his best bet. He's gonna have to fake it. I know the frustration. Wanted something with a bit more kick, just didn't have the juice.

You'll have to have a lower end card. But you can get your performance up by shutting down all of the background apps. Your RAM is gonna have to do some of the heavy lifting. That's more about doing some performance optimization on the PC itself.

BTW, I still have the 9300GE that came with my system. Have no use for it. I'd be willing to give it to you if you'd pay for the shipping. It ain't great, but it isn't bad and it should work with your system. I hope. It'd be better than on-board graphics. You are stateside, correct?
