Re: ***Official My Player Progression Thread***

My first ever player, playing style was rebounding. I pull down 12.3 rbs with him. Thing is, your speed is only at 30. Being a athletic pf, your speed is at 60 and your rebounding is only 10ratings lower than a rebounding pf. Throughout 6 games I was able to get my rebounding in the 80s both off and def when I was a rebounder. Now thru out 5 games thus far, offensive rbs at 75 and defensive rebs at 80. Basically I think athletic is better. More speed, higher vertical can help you get around your man and makes you quicker to the ball for those loose rbs that hit the ground. 16.8 rbs with 7 offensive are from know where to be. When ever a shot goes up, I box out and I'm the first one in the air. When my center gets the ball, I'm under the basket lookin for the board if he misses. As soon as the ball hits the rim, I jump. I don't guard my man past the freethrow line, I sag like crazy. I usually get my blks from playing head up, jumpshots or sneaky from behind. Having a 62 speed advantage helps me because I can face up, pump and go to the whole. I get a lot of steals, not from the exploit but from anticipation. After I score a lot, my guard usually feeds me the ball, and then the double comes and I dish to the open man. I'm gunning for a top 10 spot

I wanna be Charles Barkly/Elton Brand lite circa 05-06 season. I wanna be ben wallace on D, mixed with Diaw versatility and with David West jumpshot. Just basically Chris Webber just with wayyyyy better D. Something like 25pts, 15 rbs, 5 ast, 2stl and 3 blks. (KG voice) anything posssssiiibbbllleee!!!

My concern that My Player is too easy is still there.

Might not be easy to get onto teams but every man and his dog is putting up 30 and 15 it seems.

Rebounding is easy once you learn to box out, then go for it, I still jump too early tho. For a 6'8 guy, he get over 7 offensive boards. I just wanna get my speed back to 66. If u look at the leader board, as far as skills points in concerned, I'm the number one PF, and 144 overall...FOR MY LAST PLAYER
Yeah... you guys are all ruining the combine for me! I think I have a great game only to find out that my numbers are not astronomical like everyone else's and I'm not getting any skill points.

I don't know what you guys are doing to get all the skill points and stats you are. I just has a CAREER game. 30 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 7 highlights, 0 turnovers... and still got under 2,000 skill points. I'm like "what do I have to do??" I will never be a top rated player on the 2K Server, but considering I'm only playing offline, I guess I'll have to live with it.

The thing about this draft combine game...I don't even care if I have a bad game...it's still fun.

It's weird I've never gotten into a career mode until now. This one really plays well IMO.

If you play with athletic players it is much easier at least at the combine level because you are just faster and more athletic than everyone else on the court. Also, if you sit back and play in the offense like you really should you won't put up astronomical numbers like you will if you always call for the ball and force the offense to run through you.

Personally I have played both ways, had 6'1" pgs that averaged 40 points, 20 assists, 10 boards, and 8 steals per game and had players like the one I am currently doing which is a 6'8" back to the basket PF, switched from the rebounder cause he had no offense whatsoever, but here through 3 games just playing my position I am averaging 16 points, 10.5 boards, and 4 assists per game.

Also, you can overpower athletic players even more by concentrating points into their vertical, dunk, standing dunk, shoot in traffic, and other ratings that help them score easily against weak competition.

Height matters too... Do note that the more under sized you are, the higher skill points you will get after games/drills. That factors in. Tried making a 6'2" SG and it was different for me.

Yep, my SF is Athletic and is just a beast. Can't wait to try him in the NBA!

I love it when you have a really great team. In my 30-10-10 game I had a PF and a C who were both dominant. I would literally just dump the ball to them and watch them give me assists.

Everyone is making someone small to get more points.
I made my main guy a 6'11 athletic SF, raised his Speed 5 thru the drills and dunk 1, then concentrated on vertical, quickness, blocking, ball handling and off hand dribbling in that order.
The other guy was a 7'5 athletic centre I tried raising speed, but only did it once, then the next 14 times or so I never got speed once so I gave up and did rebounding. Used my skill points to raise my vertical, blocking, and a little bit of quickness.

Still got between 1480 and 1590 points a game. I guess only that first rating is changed based on height the player performance. You get the same # of points for completing the tasks and for your grade.

i think you earn the same amount of pts however the cost of upgrading specific attributes is more expensive for larger players. vertical can be maxed out after 4 games easily with 1500 pts/game with an athletic sg (starting at 60) however with a athletic C (starting at 60) and the same 1500 pts/game you can just barely max out vertical after 6 games because it's more expensive.

My first guy I made was an all-around SG. I was projected 2nd round 28th pick at the end. So I deleted him and started over since I had the hang of things much better.

I started an athletic PG. Right now he is a 42 OVR, averaging 19.2 ppg, 14.7 apg, 3.4 rpg, 2.0 spg. I'm projected to go 2nd round 14th pick with two games left. I'm having a blast now that I have gotten used to the change and what not.

This mode is going to be amazing once I get the retail game next week.

So which aspects of My Player are automatic? Is the coaching auto? Auto subs, auto lineup, auto trades? Are you basically just the player doing your duty and they make all the decisions?

Also, are the game settings just default, or can you adjust them for an association? (minutes, sliders, etc.)
