my issue with the game thus far is the lack of intelligence by my cpu teammates... constantly leaving their man unguarded for an open uncontested shot. this is the reason for the high shooting %... and i really don't like touching the sliders...

go to options to my controller to controller settings and then scroll down to def assist adjust it to your liking. Also go to coaches profile and adjust double team assist adjust to your liking.

Born and I were talking about this. Both of us believe that constantly switching defenders against the CPU is what brings out the ugly defensive flaws in this game. He brought up the idea that the CPU doesn't make those boneheaded off ball defensive decisions against another CPU controlled player, so essentially controlling one player PER defensive possession might remedy many of the issues users are seeing with 2K on the defensive end

I was wondering if teams in 2K10 play like the real life teams.
Or do you guys have to manually adjust the coaching sliders.
Does 2k10 come out the box horrible like last year and needs custom roster and.. stuff? =o

I dont see that defensive issue either and its probably because I have always only controlled one player on defense, usually my PG and I never switch.

Their is some validity to that, I mentioned that yesterday while I was playing. You really have to play like you're Draft combine. Here's my post from yesterday.

First of all, Backbreaker, where did you get your avatar? AWESOME... Anyway, I feel the game's commentary and overlays (talk of upcoming games and such!) are fresh and if no one has mentioned this yet, I had a cool thing happened that I'd never seen before...I shot a technical foul shot because an illegal defense was called against the other team.

last time i played nba2k was on the dreamcast lol.... i have a ps3, and about to get 2k for the first time after hating Live series last few years unfortunately....

so my question is, on 2k is the control hard to learn? to pull crossovers, backdown a defender and so on.

Practice, Practice, Practice. In time the controls will become natural.

For those of you seeing frame rate issues your not crazy. I saw it too when I first put in my game last night (PS3) and was immediately upset. But my boy played it a couple of hours later and it was smooth as silk...very odd. I think the game will be great as I enjoyed 2K9 but there was not much of a wow factor for me so far but I spent an hour with the game last night. Tonight the true testing begins!

When I installed the game on my hard drive, the frame rate issues subsided dramatically. It only happens when the lights still shows up on the court, but I call a time out, and that fixes it.

While editing a pre-existing player, are we allowed to set his secondary position to N/A or NONE?

This game is simply unbelievable. I had my hopes really high and this game exceeding them in a massive way.

The presentation is the best of any sports game that I have played. The arenas are spectacular and they all feel alive in their own unique way.

The play by play is accurate and continuous, it really makes you feel like they are actually watching the game as it unfolds.

So many little things. When that thread opens it will be huge.

The animations are ridiculously good.

I love isolating Devin Harris on an opponent and watch him wave his teammates away.

The signature style that has been added takes the game to a whole new level.

The graphics are the best in any 2k basketball game to date. Very well done.

For the first time I won't make crazy trades to improve my nets because when I look at this team play, it's the nets, from the faces down to their mannerisms.

I have so many thoughts right now, I don't really know what else to say. I'm literally blown away by how big of a leap this is over 2k9. The demo is no where near the retail version.

I'm playing on Superstar with the help defense strength down to 35. I'm sure there will be other adjustments as I get deeper into this gem, but for now I'm just enjoying playing against different teams and watching them perform as they would in real life.

I'm not seeing the defensive problems others spoke of and that could be because of lowering the help defense or the fact that I don't switch around a lot when guarding the cpu. Even when I do my teammates manage to get back into place so far.

I'm giddy. GIDDY I TELL YOU! This will be a long night with very little sleep.
