Im glad i rented this. The same problems from last year continue to plague this series. The effective lead passing to the paint has grown old. This series needs a new engine. The game is too heavy on offense compared to the defense.

Although the game can be fun running up and down the court with the fast breaks, and spectacular alley oop dunks against your friends it just has more of a street game feel to it rather then sim basketball.

          Online is unplayable on 360.

Just tried a game and it was truly awful. It seems every post shot online is a swish.

Please keep in mind if any video game leaned more towards defense...They would get even more slammed for that.......It's a Video Game !! and no matter how much they preach it's a SIM game .....it's still a matter of how it's played by you & your opponent ( just like all sports games ) and where these game companies need to also apeal to the casual / arcade gamers, I think they will always lean towards being an offensive game

i LOVE the dleague. finally a hoop game approaches the dynastic depth of mlb 09. I may play a whole dleague season. I love the floors the jerseys. the whole thing. framerate is bad but I'm fighting through it for this mode.

I didn't have that problem. I thought they improved the defense against fade away. I contested a lot of fade aways....That turned out to miss.

The DLeague is a game in itself. I didn't get a chance to play MLB 09 but could you really play the League's games also? 2k has raised the bar this year with this new addition. I have to admit, this feature really sets the bar for how Basketball games are supposed to be played.

Earlier this year, aside from the obvious additions, tweaks, and fixes 2k needed to do for this game, I was thinking about how they could upgrade its game "in general". Never really did I think this idea would of been exploded. Even if I thought about this idea, never did I really think they could even pull it off as good as they did in just one year. Welp, they proved me wrong. Of course like every new addition, one year really is the basis of its feature, it will take a bit to iron out some of the issues and imply some extra options for players to be graded on. Talk about making a change in directions..

Any idea how I get my AI teammates to play any semblance of defense?

I'm playing on All Star and trying to control Rondo most of the time in order to guard the perimeter and Tyson Chandler is making KG look like Greg Kite. I don't want to have to switch to controlling the on ball defender every possession but if I don't I get decimated in the paint. Do I have to resort to sliders?

the d-league is great, but down on the fact that the entire league has silhouettes lol
kindof has no identity that way

Im loving the defense AI of your team mates. I have noticed how well they play D depends on their ratings. So far Brad Miller had 4 blocks from the weak side help and 3 steals from denying post entry passes.

                        Awesome game !

Ha! That certainly puts it into perspective.

Let's not sugarcoat this at all. The inside game is MONEY again. I've played two games. Against Philadelphia I gave up 60 points in the paint and against GS I gave up 52.

If it was my fault I be more than willing to admit but when Steph Curry drives the lane and Noah is waiting there for him and he still makes the shot with no contact it's a problem.

It's WAY TOO EASY to get to the hoop. For the USER and the CPU The only difference from 2K9 is that I'm not seeing as many of the cheesy backdoor passes.

Defensively I rarely guard the PG and I rarely switch.I usually use the SF or the 2 guard and help if I need to but it just doesn't work.

To 2K10's credit, the back down move by KG which was almost an automatic basket last year has been fixed. They DO double him quickly and try to prevent him from backing down the PF/C.

But yeah, it's still REALLY easy to get deep into the lane again.

Yea I had that problem last night. 4 opponents and all 4 of them scored Over 90% of their points in the paint. It really pissed me off.

Why is there 360 alley oop? I saw Michael Finely connect on one. It almost drove me crazy.
