    Idk I purchased both games and I have to say I have a change of heart. This My Player mode is out of this world addictive. 2k def looks clean. Faces are off but the quality of things seems upgraded by ten fold. Must buy.

        This game is top notch. The game is nothing like 2k9, it's 10 times better. I have not really noticed any frame rate drops. Maybe minor ones a couple times in Dallas, which I know is surposed to be bad. I'm not connected to the internet either though so that may be the reason. I am using Playmakers sliders, and enjoying thus far. I'll play more when I get off work. The best basketball game I have played. Kudos 2K

          VERY early impressions...it's clear this game has followed the Draft Combine and is a big step forward from 2K9 (Which I personally disliked).

          Definitely the most "complete" NBA basketball game on the market this season...definitely the game you feel most in control of D, rebounding, setting picks, fastbreaks etc.

          Not sure if it's the most enjoyable game overall...but it's definitely the most complete.

          Should be very interesting once there's a good slider set. I'll post a lot more once I've played 6 games

            man, that little phase glitch when you try to steal at the top of the key when you try to steal needs to be fixed ASAP....ive seen it twice now...i was hoping it was just a once in a lifetime thing that made it in that video...

              Are you sure they sold 12 back???? Not that it really matters but in this economy it just seems like a lot of wasted money if you ask me

                I was so busy trying to get my custom arena music going first, I didn't get a chance to truly play the game until late last night.

                I must say, as an early impression, Matthew said it best in his review:

                "And in case you did not already know this, the animations in NBA 2K10 are the best in any basketball game to date."

                The announcement of 9000 new animations was astounding to me obviously but when I saw the videos that were being released, I began to question this. Even some of pastapadres, I had to look extra close just to catch some that I hadn't seen before. I was quite concerned.

                HOWEVER, after popping this in last night, those questions were put to bed. The smoothest animations I've seen in a sports game since NFL2k5 IMO. The new contact layup animations in this game are unbelievable. Presentation is MUCH improved from last year. Gameplay for the most part is great. However, the court spacing that was said to be improved, I find there are still times where there is clutter in the paint to key area. There is much more of a mid-range game this year though that's for sure.

                My favourite improvement is the speed of jumpshots this year. The animation is sped up to a point where FINALLY I was able to do a pump-fake step in jumper without my defender recovering on time to block? the jumpshot?. Or contest it.

                Playcalling while improved from last year, I still encouter too many broken plays for my liking. If a player is impeded from making a certain cut or does not use a pick appropriately, just like last year they stay there and begin walking slowly. I love the new system though. Assigning position specific plays and having those available to you in the "on the fly coaching" option is amazing.

                As was mentioned many times over, sliders adjustments out the box are ABSOLUTELY NECCESSARY for remotely accurate FG%s. Pared's tweaks are a
                great template to use as a foundation.

                Overall I'm loving this game so far. What a year for B-Ball fans two great games!

                  Overwhelmed with my playbook choices at this point for my offense, disappointed that there isn't a random play selection during practice mode. And Lebron kept stealin all my passes to the wing, messing up my plays and making me have to start over.

                    You went around your city to get a feel for how many copies were being returned? Give me a break man. Its people like you who are bringing this community down. You drop 60 bucks, play 3 or 4 games and then trade the game in for 32 dollars? IF you did that, all I have for you is laughs, cause thats ridiculous. Your impressions seem more like a reverse advertisement than actual impressions bro. This is the impressions thread, not some made up story with an agenda.

                      I'm sorry....but there are still some cheesy things in the game. The paint is still a little too easy to score. The alley oops are too easy. In 2k9 they had right...better yet they had it perfect. They should of kept the same system. But added layup animations for the small guys that can't dunk. Now any user can throw alley oop. My friend last night threw 2 alley oops BY MISTAKE. He was mad that it was so easy. I mean take a look. He said he was trying to swing the ball to Anderson to get it to Lebron. but he pressed L2 by mistake. And that alley oop came out. Last years system took skill. I mean if they are going to have a fatguie bar. Why make a play that is very hard to complete like alley oop so easy to complete?

                          LOL, I'm glad you got him Renegade because, I was already hitting the reply button when I read your post. You just saved me from an infraction and another week long ban. I love how people throw in these stories in order to get more traction for their dissing. "12 copies returned...game is going drop to $19.99" so he's also a Game Economist? Check this dude's bank account, I'm willing to be he's on the payroll. If he ain't getting money for that cheese then he really is a....I'll let you tell it.

                          Back to Impressions: Again, I only played 30 minutes during lunch yesterday but when I finally got home, my girl was out studying until 12 so I got do it properly. This is another classic like I stated earlier (PS3 version no frame rate drops). To all those people crying about getting scored on and high FG%, do one of two things. Lower CPU sliders or better yet...PLAY DEFENSE!!! during lunch yesterday the computer made their first 10 baskets and I thought "Damn the haters might have a point". When I finally got to focus and play tough D, the % dropped to 4 out of their first 10. This is Next Gen B-Ball people, man up and get in them boys faces. Animations are very nice and the post game is refreshing too. Sure the lack of a post-up button sucks, but to me auto post works fine. How many times do big guys get the ball down low and face up to a person anyway? Think about it....Exactly. I haven't done much Association because when I played the game I saw Iverson was not on the Grizzlies, and I didn't feel like corrcting the rosters. I'll wait until the real season starts before I give my impressions on that mode.

                            I will say I feel the Alley Oops are too easy... but this is the result of the numerous people saying on the boards that they could never pull off an alley oop last year. I'm almost sure of it.

                            I agree that last year's oops were better timed. Animations beat it this year, but the success of execution last year were a better representation of the sport.
