Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread
Just got the game and i messed with the sliders so i can play a realistic 10 minute quarter on hof, lemme tell you this game is epic because the off ball movement puts players where they like to score whether its in the post or on the 3 this game gives you freedom to play a style perfectly. All the shooting percentage problems can be solve by lowering the sliders a few clicks to shoot around 50% if you take good shots. In association the commentary is soo deep they can ramble on for minutes about a topic before abruptly screaming for a successful oop. This game definitely has its flaws but o me the positives outweigh them by a landslide.I recommend this for any1 who is still undecided !Live, Love, Learn

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread
That has absolutely NOTHING to do with the systems needing more ram.. its the engine, plain and simple, it needs to be redone or better optimized, ..im thinking its just the engine is maxed now.. the framerate issues have been present the entire current generation or atleast the last 3 2k games... Again, its the engine to blame ..not the lack of power in the 360 and ps3..there is plenty more room for these two consoles to improve graphically ...take my word on that, im a freaking NUT when it comes to doing research on these current console technology..go to beyond3d.com in the console tech forums and you'll see what its all about.
512mb of ram in a console is not exactly the same as looking at a pc with 512mb or ram..to entirely different species when it comes to harnessing videogame engines and how well they take advantage of the hardware...especially static hardware thats all the same in a console compared to the various hardware config's pc's have.
Example.. last years pc version of 2k9 had framerate issues on my monster rig with 8gb of ram, Qx9650 Quad Core Overclocked to 4.6ghz, ATI 4870X2 2gb videocard..yes it still had frame rate issues... it surely wasnt because of my hardwareComment

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread
hmmmmm i never had issues with nba 2k9 on my pc maxed out graphics and i ran a quad core 2.66 ghz Q-6700 8 gigs of crucial ram on a 680i sli lt motherboard with 9800 gt 1 gig of ram. well let me back that up on vista i had issues but on xp 64 bit os not one single problem even the sound works dribbleing the ball on xp and no ball sounds on vista ,with lag especially if you replaced some of the game files with mods. that game was not very vista friendly
Anyways, after playing the game for a bit, i will say that, this game is by no means perfect. ITs not going to happen to a sports game this gen, or probably ever, but it's a lot of fun.
There is defense, your defense does break down, and it breaks down sometimes quite a bit, but how do you think teams score 100 points per game. If it was perfect defense all the time, then you would have no one scoring lolComment

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread
In the DC, I made a 212 lb 6'10" PF with all defense, rebounding and post game. I rebooted the draft 4 times but couldn't escape the Wizards at #32.
My first summer game coach played me primarily at SF and SG. I was killing my matchup on the box, lol.
Gonna tank the summer though...I told my agent I aint playin' for the Wiz.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread
I asked this question a few times but didn't get a solid answer so can anyone who owns this game fill me in and help me with a definitive answer?
How are the controls? Are we still forced into locked animations?
For example, when I am on a fast break instead of getting an easy dunk or layup my guy runs into a defender forcing a foul or block and some cases a steal.

It's interesting...the coach was playing me according to body type instead of skillset. My Player has no handles or jumper...

There are far fewer movement animations that kick in when you move around, so much like 2K6, and 2K8...the movement is pretty fluid. Holding down LT gets you some fancier dribbles.
There are a LOT more contested layups though, and unless you leak out the fast breaks will be contested if you don't run it correctly. The layup strip has been toned way down though, so if you go up strong, most times you will score...Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

I'm confident that slider tweaking will make this best 2K game to date.Last edited by Kujo; 10-02-2009, 07:54 AM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread
Can we assign a player's secondary position to None or N/A? We could do this in 2K8 but they took it away in 2K8.
This would allow the player to be placed in any other position when his team needs it. Someone like Josh Smith has minutes logged at the SF/PF/C. But we can only assign a player 2 positions. Can this be patched?
Is this STILL an issue for anyone that has the game? You can go into player edit mode to checkConcrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

I have another question. Are the lobbies back for online play? Sorry if this has been addressed but I am too lazy to go back thru all these pages on this threadComment

Is the ps3 version still worse than the 360...like last year? Less control and slow down?Comment
