Re: Official 2k Bugs and Glitches Thread

My players are shooting/pump faking without me telling them to. Played 3 online games and AT LEAST 6 times total, I shot full court shots while my direct passing icons were up. I didn't even PRESS anything after I brought them up, my players just shot the ball.

Please tell me I am not alone. Brand new controller BTW
    Concrete evidence/videos please

Alrite sorry if this was talked about but Im not reading this thread....Wont do anything but depress me...Anyways is there something wrong with RFA?

Ive seen vets who were listed as RFA and being placed on a new team...I thought RFA was for young players who spent their first 3-4 years with one team or something like that....Also it seem like rookies are NEVER RFA.....

****I must note that I noticed this with CPU controlled teams, the team I was controlling(automated everything) had no problems with RFA, every rook I had was a RFA and not one Vet came to my team as a RFA****

I going to run a test to see if its only happening to CPU controlled teams....

I'm really not going to play this game until they fix half of these problems. I'm pretty confidant that there won't be a Patch From Hell 2.0 because this game cannot get any worse. Really disappointed in the reviews. This game is basically SOCOM before all the patches and im sure that this won't get half of them. As you can see, im really pissed off that i wasted money on this game and can only get half the price for returning it. I actually bought this **** for both systems(thanks to ign and OS for completely sucking off 2k and making the game look perfect.Pretty sure there was money involved somewhere).I wish live had a multi-team dynasty and an online franchise so switching would be just as easy as switching to Madden. Anyway...has anyone noticed that:

          every alley-oop is successful?

Pop-ups setting a pick and blocking my view.

On a multiplayer game, i finish making my subs in game and just before im going to close the in game menu, my brother tries to do subs and completely erases mine. This **** happens every time.

Big guys can STILL keep up with guards. 2K has been promising to remove this for years and years. UNF***ING BELIEVABLE!

After chaining at least 4 isomoves the dude starts doing that terrible walking back animation.

Auto post ups- sounded ridiculous and in the end...ridiculous.

Defensive AI- completely bonkers. Wrong double teaming, no rotation, ******** help d(actually preventing me from guarding effectively.) The offenisve help d is actually back.

Players shooting terrible jumpers instead of taking two steps and nailing an easy layup.

Can't hit a jumper to save my life. Someone needs to do away with preset jumpers.

OS really should've listed on the review instead of keeping it a dirty secret. Thats foul.

Don't know if this has been written about already...

In MyPlayer mode, I'm playing on an NBDL team--the "Armor", I think it is...After every game, the 2K dude keeps telling me the same message that I've been cut from the team, but the GM of the Armor wants to sign me for a contract...

He tells me that after EVERY game.

I found a ridiculous bug today, after a freethrow scenario I couldnt control any of my players they seemed to have gone into Coach mode but I never switched it to Coach mode, I had to manually switch to coach mode to atleast be able to control some parts of the game I still never regained control of the actual players, I was in the 4th qtr in an association game with about 5 min to go I had a 14 point lead so I didnt want to reset the game luckily in coach mode they held the lead and I didnt lose an association game.

Not a glitch as such but there's no that just ain't right thread.

I'm not exactly up on NBA rules but I'm 99.99% sure an opposing coach is NOT allowed to step onto the court and interfere with a player. I think that's a tech, ejection, suspension and fine if not being thrown out of the league.

Still waiting on the visual evidence to upload.

Re: Official 2k Bugs and Glitches Thread

so i start an association, choose all the teams to control so i can keep up with the trades in real life myself. I play as Cleveland, win, sim the other games that day and play as the Lakers vs Clippers and win. It autosaves. This was all last night. So today i put the game on to continue my association and apparently the Lakers lost to the Clippers like 97-8. I was like wtf? 8 points? Its in the boxscore and standings as a Lakers loss where they scored 8 points. To be fair they gave Kobe 6 of the 8 points but wtf now i gotta start over again.

                      This happen to anyone else?

Anyone see overlays that start to appear only to disappear immediately again. That's happened a bunch of times in every game I've played so far... an overlay will star to appear and then immediately, before it totally appears, disappear. I should add that it happens when I am playing an NBA Today game.

Re: Official 2k Bugs and Glitches Thread

                          36. What is restricted free agency?

There are two types of free agency: unrestricted and restricted. An unrestricted free agent is free to sign with any other team, and there's nothing the player's original team can do to prevent it. Restricted free agency gives the player's original team the right to keep the player by matching an offer sheet the player signs with another team. This is called the "right of first refusal."

Restricted free agency exists only on a limited basis. It is allowed following the fourth year of rookie "scale" contracts for first round draft picks (see question number 41). It is also allowed for all veteran free agents who have been in the league three or fewer seasons. However, a first round draft pick becomes an unrestricted free agent following his second or third season if his team does not exercise its option to extend the player's rookie scale contract for the next season. All other free agency is limited to unrestricted free agency.

In order to make their free agent a restricted free agent, a team must submit a qualifying offer to the player by June 30. This prevents the team from not offering a contract and waiting to swoop in when the player tries to sign elsewhere. The qualifying offer ensures that the team does not gain the right of first refusal without also offering a contract themselves. The amount of the qualifying offer for players on rookie "scale" contracts is based on the player's draft position (see question number 41). The qualifying offer for all other players must be for 125% of the player's previous salary, or the player's minimum salary (see question number 11) plus $175,000, whichever is greater. The qualifying offer must be for one season. A player can elect to accept his qualifying offer (the qualifying offer must be accepted by March 1) and play the following season under its terms. This is sometimes done in order to become an unrestricted free agent the following summer (see question number 38).

A qualifying offer cannot be accepted after March 1. Teams may place a shorter time limit on their qualifying offer, specifying any date between October 1 and March 1 by which it must be accepted. If the deadline passes and the qualifying offer is neither withdrawn nor accepted, then the player continues to be a restricted free agent. The team and player are also still free to negotiate a new contract after the qualifying offer ends -- the deadline only affects the player's ability to accept the qualifying offer.

Teams may also withdraw an outstanding qualifying offer in which case the player becomes unrestricted. This happened with Toronto and Keon Clark in 2002. The qualifying offer cannot be withdrawn after July 23 without the player's approval.

If the player is coming off the fourth year of his rookie scale contract, then in addition to a qualifying offer, his team can also submit a maximum qualifying offer. A maximum qualifying offer is for six seasons at the maximum salary with 10.5% annual raises. It can contain no options, ETOs or bonuses of any kind, and must be fully guaranteed. When a team submits a maximum qualifying offer (in essence "stepping up" with a maximum contract offer before the player even hits the market), it places a more stringent requirement on other teams' offer sheets (see below).

When another team wants to sign a restricted free agent, it signs the player to an offer sheet, the principal terms of which the original team is given seven days to match. The offer sheet must be for at least two seasons (not including option years). If the player's prior team also submitted a maximum qualifying offer, then the offer sheet must be for at least three seasons (not including option years). If the player's original team exercises its right of first refusal by matching the principal terms of the offer sheet, the player is then under contract to his original team. If the player's original team does not exercise its right of first refusal within seven days, the offer sheet becomes an official contract with the new team.

To summarize, a restricted free agent essentially has four options:

He can accept his prior team's qualifying offer, play for one season, and become a free agent again the following summer.
He can accept his prior team's maximum qualifying offer (if applicable, and if one has been submitted) and play under a long-term contract at the maximum salary.
He can sign an offer sheet with another team, which his prior team is given the opportunity to match.
He can negotiate a new contract with his prior team that is independent of the qualifying offer or maximum qualifying offer.
There are additional restrictions placed on offer sheets for players with one or two years in the league. These restrictions are described in question number 37.

There can be no compensation given to a team in return for their not matching an offer to a restricted free agent. For example, Houston could not sign Golden State's restricted free agent, then send Golden State a draft pick in exchange for their not matching the offer and retaining the player.

If the team matches an offer sheet, they cannot trade the player in a sign-and-trade arrangement (see question number 76).

A signed offer sheet can be rescinded within the seven day waiting period if all three parties (the player and the two teams) agree.
RFA works nothing like that in NBA2K10....its either a bug, glitch or its done wrong because players that our listed as RFA on default rosters will spend there whole career listed as a RFA, while rookies on the CPU team's will never be listed as RFA.....I think its a bug/glitch because all of MY rookies came in listed as a RFA and a undrafted free agent Ive signed went from UFA to RFA after 3 years on my team....However Thaddues Young(I controlled the Sixers) was always listed as a RFA even after Ive resigned him....

Past this around because this is something that cpuld miss out on a patch, not many people know about this let along how RFA works....

Another error that made it into a potentially great association mode...

Here's the link to the NBA Salary CAP FAQ:

In My Player mode I had the challenge of limiting my match to 8 points. It counted points he got when I wasn't even out there. Didn't help was I was on 3 different guys. Probably counted all their points too. Mine only had 2 baskets while I was out there far as I'm aware of.

They need to patch the warm ups so that they reappear for players who go back on the bench.
