I made a post about this and it works, just give it a read and you'll see.

It was utterly disheartening giving up on that game so quickly. the demo appeared no better but many other vids ive seen has given me some hope.

      we shall see
Lets not forget the Help defense slider. That could help also.

This game is making me want to pull my hair out. Its just to easy to score for both the A.I and me....I understand if you play off ball all the time to stop the plays from happening (even though the A.I still does stupid defense mistakes) but the same thing occurs on the other side. The A.I constantly leaves on of my players open for an easy jump shot that almost never misses. This has to be the worst Defensive A.I that 2K sports has come up with. I hope something can be done about it. Playing the A.I in this game is no fun.

Good point. I always turn my def. pressure and help defense coaching slider to "0." That, coupled with setting the auto double team to "Never" will give you a more robust "man on man" defense, if that is what you want. That way the players that I choose to "sag off" will be the ones to come over and help when I need them to. Again, this game requires some fundamental basketball I.Q. If youre head is not in the game, and I mean all aspects of the game, you will get torched without question.

Calling timely time-outs and using the coaching emphasis of "rebounding, ball control, defense, etc." should not be over looked as an after thought; it matters.

I agree that this game requires some fundamental basketball I.Q, but how is turning the def pressure and help D coaching sliders to 0 considered to be basketball I.Q? Do coaches go around and tell there players to not apply pressure at all? There is def a problem in the game that needs to be addressed. Why do I have to turn the sliders to 0, that makes no sense what so ever (I did the same thing to the sliders but we shouldn't be forced to do this, and it only helped a little bit). Its just so disappointing....

It will be addressed man; its just not going to be a knee jerk release day patch pending further feedback and input from users. In the mean time, I am offering some solutions so you don't have to wait a couple of months for a patch.

because complex programming where the ai has to think for itself will at some time or another, glitch because of a broken event

and sometimes when you fix one problem, it creates another problem elsewhere

not to mention that there are so many events that could happen in basketball (like the ball going out of bounds a certain way or a guy being in a certain position) that it is impossible to create any measure for every single event.

but having said that, its obvious that 2k10 is an unfinished game that hasnt been thoroughly polished, and like other people have said, hopefully a patch is in order
Is it really that obvious? You know what the Visual Concepts team spends the year working on?

I love reading these ignorant posts that are like... "It's obvious that 2k10 is an unfinished game."

--- uumm, and tell me how you know this?! Because you do know the game isn't even out yet?

Games have flaws -- duh! But unfinished!?! YOU go get your programming degree and try and build a better game -- palease. AI is one of the most difficult things to simulate -- let alone when you are switching from CPU to user controlled players all the time on defense.

Your right amedawg...im sorry if i came off like a jerk. I just felt like people were trying to blind themselves from the truth. I guess your suggestions is the best we can do, unless somebody uploads some really great sliders.

If he can see these mistakes happening before they actually do, then isn't it his responsibilty to take control of the defender and get him back into position. I mean it's him playing the game, can't he do off ball D himself. He's letting the CPU defend for him, so he's got to allow for things like that to happen.

lv2Ball i will download your sliders and try them out. And 2k9 wizards fan, I have already stated that even if i do everything perfectly and play off ball D like i said i did (even though other things will happen in other areas of the court)...the computer A.I still leaves MY players wide open for easy jumpshots almost every single possession. I guess its my responsibility to play off ball D for the A.I also?

That what im saying every Nba team dont play lock down defense on every possesion even the best def team, some possesion they do gaze a little bit.

Born and I were talking about this. Both of us believe that constantly switching defenders against the CPU is what brings out the ugly defensive flaws in this game. He brought up the idea that the CPU doesn't make those boneheaded off ball defensive decisions against another CPU controlled player, so essentially controlling one player PER defensive possession might remedy many of the issues users are seeing with 2K on the defensive end
                            Concrete evidence/videos please
