I just simmed, rookies are wayy better than 2k9...the default rosters shot tendecies are too high...In the later years, the left over players gonna have a 80 or more in shot tendencies scoring 30+ ppg while the rest of the league range from 40-70....

Only problem is most likely you wont see a 30ppg generic player....other than that they progress ok and they do score....My guy finished his career as a 22ppg he average 15 as a rookie.....He went up 89 from 81 and drop to 83 at the later years of his career....He coukd have progress more if I invested in good coaches or even did the practices and drills....

well, that would be an easy fix then, relatively speaking at least :wink: Because it also really is mainly the 1 slider "shot tendency", maybe the 3pt tendency slider will need work again like last year

Dunno if Nogster is doing anything this year (@ nogster : Give me a shout if you´d want some help with it) , but i´m sure we´ll be well covered at least once the actual NBA season starts and the final rosters IRL stand.

When i get the game on Friday i´ll run some tests lowering some players shot tendency while upping others on the same team. Maybe have a god at Bosh´s rebounding numbers as well.

That is if i can stop actually playing games

Trying to find some extremes here. I placed each shooting rating and corresponding tendency at the max level and zeroed every other shooting tendency for each test. Simmed 3 times.

Dwight - 99 Inside Rating - 100 Inside Tendency (62% - 61% - 61%)
Shaq - 99 Close Rating - 100 Close Tendency (51% - 50% - 51%)
Melo - 99 Mid Rating - 100 Mid Tendency (52% - 50% - 52%)
Joe Johnson - 99 3Pt Rating - 100 3PT Tendency (48% - 47% - 47%) (He actually ONLY shot 3's during each season; so that is good)

Nash - 25 Ball Security (2.5 - 2.9 - 2.6) vs CP3 - 99 Ball Securty (3.2 - 3.0 - 3.2)

Heads up!!

There is a bug with either sim stats or viewing team stats....

Teams ARENT really shot 8000 shots per year, its a bug....Look in the box score and you will see that teams are actually shooting 70-80 FG per game...

I was just getting onto say the same thing after looking at the box scores. So the statistics are pretty right for the most part, percentages a wee bit high, but that's about it.

And some players ratings are just off.

so basically, if you can get by with not looking at team total FGA we just need some tweaking of basically everybody´s shot tendency, some individual players tendencies (i´m specifically thinking "foul rate" and 3PT shooting tendency) along with the usual changing of ratings to our liking and we should be golden.

I´ll take it after the disaster that is FIFA and in part Madden

Has anybody tried changing anything yet ? If this really is purely a display problem than i am pretty sure that adjusting the shot tendency will indeed a) lead to realistic leadue leaders and scoring balance and b) make for a good mixture of default players and created players a couple years into the dynasty.
And i am really curious as to whether lowering Paul´s shot tendeny and raising his teammate´s will indeed raise his assist numbers.

Overall i think this can be the best Franchise experience yet with a little bit of work put in and a pretty damn good one regardless.

Still undecided between Franchise and my player taking up the majority of my game time, propably going mainly Franchise this year again.

One of the biggest changes that I noticed in this years Association mode with the increase in unhappy players.

The reason this happens is a two parter. 2K dropped the ratings floor, as we all know. But with this, 2K also dropped the floor for player roles, which imo is a huge mistake.

In previous 2K's, you can have players who are rated 70 or higher as role players. It wasn't perfect, but it was okay. In 2K10, if a player is rated in the 60s, it seems he wants to be a role player now. Problem is, a lot of the bench players in the NBA are rated in the 60s in this game. They all now want 10 minutes a game, which also takes away from the stars minutes.

You know what happens now. Everyone gets pissed about minutes, morale drops, everything messes up.

This is just a guesstimation from playing the association for a few hours yesterday, and I'm sure someone went over this already in this thread, but when I seen the problem you've seen with pissed off players, I just deleted my association. I thought the drop in ratings would help the association, not hurt it. It's just too annoying.

I'd honestly like it at the way it was before. 70 and up for role players.

Well I've been doing some tweaking to the auto generated draft classes to see if I can balance these stats out for future years. For the most part I just altered these rookies tendencies to more accurately match their skill set. I'm getting better results. Here's what I got for the top 10 scoring rookies in their first year of play (2010-2011).....

1. James Peller, SF 17.2 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 0.8 apg, 1.1 spg, 1.4 bpg
2. Homer Wise SF 16.4 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.4 apg, 0.5 spg, 1.4 bpg
3. Floyd Barnes SG 15.0 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.0 apg, 2.2 spg, 0.5 bpg
4. Byron Perkins SG 13.4 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 0.9 apg, 1.5 spg, .7 bpg
5. Donovan Blackman SG 12.1 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 0.6 apg, 0.6 spg, .7 bpg
6. Jesse Wheeler PG 9.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.7 apg, 0.9 spg, 1.1 bpg
7. Deon Hollins PG 9.4 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.2 spg, 0.8 bpg
8. Louis Romero PG 9.3 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 5.3 apg, 0.9 spg, 0.4 bpg
9. Gabe Morgan SF 9.2 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.3 spg, 1.4 bpg
10.Anthony Lampley C 8.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 0.6 apg, 0 spg, 2.7 bpg

I know they aren't perfect but much better than the generated statistics that we get from untweaked rookies. I'm about to formulate a second draft class and see if I'm on to something. If you guys are interested I will continue to post the stats I'm getting. Just let me know.

What up Jai-O. I been encountering that issue still but it seems that it more so depends on the success of the team. I started a new association today and many of the really good teams had all of their players with above average morale. However, the entire Sacramento Kings team was waaaay down in morale with the exception of Kevin Martin, Tyreke Evans and a couple of other guys. I guess in a sense this is.... somewhat realistic..... or not, lol. But at least its not as bad as I thought.

All the simming I've done so far shown me that a lot of the time it's the bench players who get mad. I don't understand why the ratings floor for roles was dropped, it would be perfect at 70 for bench players.

Has nothing to do with ratings, its the lack of roster management....positions are stacked therefore some pkayers wont get their playing time they want....Realistic

I did.

Same old, same old.

Main problem are a couple things

-shot tendency on default is way too high for stars
-it is too high overall for perimeter guys (but not as much)
-it is way too low for PF/C which aren´t top flight yet not that bad.

If you lower the top guys and the perimeter guys some and up a lot of PF/Cs, you should get pretty good stats individual and team (as theirs more realistic scoring balance, not as many 25 mpg PF/C averaging 2-4 ppg ...)

Rookies are great, just the tendency is a problem, can edit that .

Yeah I agree whoman. Like some of us were saying in another thread, no rookie should really touch the 80 rating mark unless you're a Kobe, Lebron, DWade type player. That's been one of the main things I have changed. But that's just my opinion. Just to give you a heads up also, those high rookie overalls can be fixed easily by bringing down the consistency rating (most highly rated rookies have 99 consistency rating) and dropping the offensive and defensive awareness of the rookies that are too high. I've edited five draft classes and have been getting really good results.

would you mind uploading them ? Could do the same with the ones i edit over the next couple days/weeks.
So that we don´t draft players having had a glimpse of their ratings and tendencys before drafting from editing them. Seems like we aren´t too far off in optinion here.

created rookies also have a lot of blank tendencies (Zeros).

Overall they look good though, f.e. finally 6´8/6´9 SFs !

I´m propably going to edit the rosters myself extensively for the first time (allways waited for the experts to finish). Did Nogster and Rashidi touch tendencies (especially shot tendency) last year, anybody remember ?
Like said, early tests with a couple of teams have been very encouraging with just that one thing changed, producing solid team as well as player stats.

Propably going to have to down potential for a lot of players as well, otherwise the points you take away from (f.e.) 3 pt ability would come right back.
If i´d put a guy like Lebron James on 0 potential, would he regress or just not get better ?

Basically the 3 pt ability needs to be lowered by about 3-5 across the board (if ingame it gets too low then, just up the slider), shot tendency needs to be lowered for the Top 10% of the league´s scorers and upped for rotation guys and Big men especially (guys like Chandler, Dalembert f.e. are notorious for being rated so low it´s ridiculous)
