Re: DEFENSE... YES!!!! CONTINUED BY THE SANDMAN
Ok, here we go try this. Hold the right stick to the left when defending the ball handler. When the ball handler moves continue to hold the right stick to the left and push the left stick into the ball handler shadowing his every move. I just held AI on superstar to a 34% shooting outing. It works. I am trying to get some video up for you guys. Leave the left trigger alone for right now until you get this down. IT WORKS... Private msg me your phone number if necessary and I will call you and try to explain. This is how confident I am about this.Comment

Re: DEFENSE... YES!!!! CONTINUED BY THE SANDMAN
and that's why you're seeing what you are. i have tried assist at 0, 50, and 100. no difference. I have tried doing this while using the L trigger and without it. in all of these situations, the CPU will make the user controlled defender go into a stance when you get close to the ball handler. and in both situations, the ball handler attacks or doesn't attack in the same way.Comment

No. Listen, it works. Hold the right stick to the left while attempting to defend the ball handler. When the ball handler is moving push and hold the left stick into the ball handler shadowing his every move in conjunction with the right stick being held down to the left.Comment

Re: DEFENSE... YES!!!! CONTINUED BY THE SANDMAN
Samb,
He's talking about another animation that the cpu does when guarding your ball handler. It's different because it stops the easy drives to the basket when properly done, but I need to get a hang of it because I'm still learning how to defend on the ball.'Only The Strong Survive'Comment

Re: DEFENSE... YES!!!! CONTINUED BY THE SANDMAN
ok i'd love to see it if he can get some videos up but i haven't been able to initiate any sort of animation. in terms of stopping the drive, i have no problem just using the aggressive d (LT) and that triggers all sorts of animations,Comment

Re: DEFENSE... YES!!!! CONTINUED BY THE SANDMAN
It seems to me that when using it the way described with the LT, you have way more control of your d slides. An yes if you keep using the r stick on the drive there will b a specific animation that is triggered. Especially in the paint, there are alot there. Also the help thing works really well, especially if you get beat off the dribble. I would to like to see a video to though.Comment

Re: DEFENSE... YES!!!! CONTINUED BY THE SANDMAN
Yeah at this point I think we all need to see some videos of this....I have tried this (changing my controls to Absolute) I prolly need more practice....My defense was a little better...not sure if its jus because of this or because i have really been working on my defense doing the drills and what not....I did chg my defense assist to 100 so im not sure if that has made it better...(prolly more so with cpu AI than anything as far as getting more deflections) I did notice i got a double team animation when i moved the stick to the right when the player was guarding in the corners and post area....but im still looking at it to see if help comes 100% of the time when holding to the Right stick to the right....I think i noticed the shuffle of footwork (defensive stance) not sure if this is just because of this or because i chg'd to absolute.....So all in all i could not tell the difference if moving the stick to the left actually triggers an animation or not. but i do see a better defense animation.....and I did lock my friend up last night, lol beat him by 20......Sandman if you could just upload some videos to the 2k website to clear this up much appreciatedYeah so in summation I don't know who you racing I'm already at the finish line with the flag waving, c'mon!Comment

Re: DEFENSE... YES!!!! CONTINUED BY THE SANDMAN
I have noticed :Your defensive player will stay in a crouched position. Also the defensive players lateral movement will slowdown, when holding the left sitck of course.Holding/tapping the left trigger will cause the defensive player to body up while maintaing the crouching /methodical movement. My defensive assist is at 10 moving it up to 100 I experianced little to no control of this feature. The change in playing defense is a suttle one , but highly affective. Its a option that works ....good find.Pressing up on the left will allow you to go for a steal pressing down will raise your hands in a stationary position.Comment

Re: DEFENSE... YES!!!! CONTINUED BY THE SANDMAN
wow....what a difference!!!!
I played Orlando vs Lakers (me) with sandman sets: superstar, absolute right stick, default sliders, doing all he said to do and wow....in the first qrt Orlando outscored me 40-7, 70% from the field and 7/8 from 3pt line.....i thought "ok....maybe it's just me" so i played a second match, Jazz (me) vs Hornets and in the first qrt they only scored 37 points, 70% from the field again and 5/6 from outside....what i can say...a big difference!!!!
Come on.......Comment
