Re: NBA 2K10 Patch #2 Available, Post Impressions/Suggestions Here (360)
since turning off player roles is the workaround for the 3-point glitch, my question is:
if i'm controlling all 30 teams and have the signings/trades/free agency set to auto for 29 teams... what are those transactions based on?
what makes a player hit the trading block or rumor mill if their is no roles & do they still have morale anyway?Comment

Re: NBA 2K10 Patch #2 Available, Post Impressions/Suggestions Here (360)
I strongly recommend against that. If you are going to let the CPU control trades/signings/FA, you might as well just control one team. See my post a few pages back in this thread for the ridiculous trades that were made with assistants controlling trading. The CPU trade logic seems somewhat better with one team control rather than using assistants to control in a 30 team league. Guys were literally being traded 3 and 4 times in a two week period, sometimes right back to the original team for the same guy that they were traded for in the first place.
i used to drop "association" files with players out that were out in real life & this is what i did to get that result:
before i started my association i would go to the players that i wanted to be injured in association mode & write down their speed, quickness, shot & strength ratings.
then i would edit those ratings down to 50 (or 25 this year) that makes the cpu keep them out of the line up because of their low overall rating.
then i would go into the rotation menu & make sure that they were in injured reserved.
i would start my association & make sure if i had an edited player on the team that i was controlling, that i had his player role on benchwarmer.
i would write down the date that i wanted the player to return & when that day came i would edit his ratings back to the original ratings that i wrote down. ( if the player was on my team i would have to change his player role & out him back in the rotation, if the player is on a cpu controlled team, they will put him back in the lineup after the next Saturday.
hope that helps, as its the only way to do it.

Re: NBA 2K10 Patch #2 Available For 360 & PS3, Post Impressions Here
Just a couple of quick impressions:
It's easier to get by your man (if u have a decent ball handler), but blocked shots and fouls occur more frequently due to better defensive rotation.
I saw a couple of different animations....even one where Baron Davis crossed Derrick Rose and he slipped (a slip I had never seen before).
Derrick Rose took 2 3pt shots....but one was when the shot clock was winding down, and the other was at the end of the half (a half court shot).
I play with everything on default, All Star difficulty, and 2k Rosters. The 2k Rosters are still messed up though. Players like Brad Miller don't get subbed in the game despite being assigned 20 minutes. There used to be an issue where players like Aaron Gray were assigned 0 minutes and were playing.Comment

I actually saw an animation where they literally fall. I'm not talking about the flop animation. They reach and fall to the court...lol I missed the shot though.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: NBA 2K10 Patch #2 Available For 360 & PS3, Post Impressions Here
EDIT: For example, I play with the Cavs most of the time and in 2K I get some of the weirdest lineups I've ever seen. When left to its own devices, the CPU will have Shaq, Big Z and Varejao in the game at the same time. Heaven forbid Jamario Moon get subbed in at the small forward position when you have a guy like Anderson Varejao...LOL!
I've gone back and forth between the two games this year. Neither may be absolutely perfect but they both have their strengths. Good time to be a basketball fan.Last edited by instantpop; 01-20-2010, 03:38 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K10 Patch #2 Available For 360 & PS3, Post Impressions Here
It doesn't display ALL the time, just most of the time. You'll notice it most when a stat box comes up relevant to your game. Once that stat overlay disappears, it leaves the ticker behind, for whatever reason.
I wouldn't have as big of an issue with it as I do if I didn't feel it was messing with the frame rate of the game. It may be small, but I feel as though there is a difference. Plus I feel it's just a dumb mistake on 2K's part - considering I didn't have an issue with it until downloading the last patch. There have been too many "oops" things from 2K this year.Comment

2. can i select only nba.com association games to be displayed? (like the regular ticker)Comment

Re: NBA 2K10 Patch #2 Available For 360 & PS3, Post Impressions Here
Just a quick impression, as I only really played one game, but this game seems to play a pretty solid game of basketball now. The defense seems tougher. Is it perfect? no it's not. This doesn't seem to be the end all be all patch and a lot of the same issues remain or cropped up again. It may be a few y ears before we ever get a perfect and end all be all basketball game, but this game at least offers quite a bit. This game has a lot of nice little touches to it if you can get past some of the legacy issues and drawbacks..
I definately noticed the assist logic and attention paid to how the cpu passes the ball. It seems like this was one of the few things they really concentrated on. Whether i like it or not is to be determined. The cpu is definately more diligent and scripted with their passes(big men will rebound and pass it back out and work the clock) but can be almost too robotic and godlike.Last edited by kgisbeast; 01-20-2010, 07:05 PM.Comment

2. No players were on the trading block and as stated above...most players ratings had the blue/green arrow pointing up.
The "work-around" does stop pf/c from taking 3pts but the loss of player roles, in my opinion, makes the association lack personality and any drama.O.G. - Original Gamer '87 NES
