-The speed of the low post fadeaways and whatnot need to be sped up. Look how fast LeBron spins off of Pietrus for this jumper:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3SDaTT1ykM0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3SDaTT1ykM0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
That's how back-to-basket shots should look.
Also, don't force the defender to be a part of the jab step animation. My player should not do anything I don't tell him to do. EVER.
Speaking of which, don't force us to be sucked into layup animations. If I don't hit Y, I shouldn't contest a layup. Period.
And bumping needs to be toned down, especially on the perimeter. Look at this play from LeBron:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FcDb-O5NoI0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FcDb-O5NoI0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
If this was 2K10, Iggy would have bumped LeBron at around the foul line and totally impeded his progress. First of all, nobody, and I mean NOBODY is quick enough to do that to any competent ballhandler in the NBA on a consistent basis.
Second, now that perimeter defense is basically illegal, people are a lot less willing to put their body on the line and step directly in front of a driving ballhandler, since they'll just be called for a foul.
Finally, LeBron will just go through you if you try that, so it's better to try to ride his hip into the paint. Notice how Iggy shifted his feet and pretty much let LeBron go past him? That should be a LOT more prevalent in 2K11. Just make a "Perimeter contact" slider and everything will be cool. 0 = what just happened in the video, 100 = you're not gettin to the basket without a screen.
We also need more drive animations, and maybe even assignable signature animations. Not every has the same body language and mannerisms when they drive. Some players drive really hard (the smaller players generally who have to get up a lot of momentum to score in the paint), and others are slower, some players put their head down, some keep their head up, etc. As of now, I think we have like... two different driving animations. That needs to expand exponentially.
