you have to manually go under the screen.

There need to be more block animations where the ball is in the air when it gets swatted.

Oh I know that, but i was under the impression he meant something else. And yea id rather canned ball-defender animations vs canned ball-defender-offensive player animations.

Just be careful what ya'll wish/complain about. Great suggestions so far but something like making the triple threat or post moves more explosive/faster is bad for business. Let 'em fix/touch up the defensive end before we further give the offense an advantage.

No, no, no, no, NO >_<

Offense is not THAT overpowered in this game, and even if it is, it's an easy fix if you know what you're doing. All 2K has to do, like I've said, is lower the Dunk Ability and Inside Shot/Layup Success sliders for online play if it's THAT bad, instead of adding all these ridiculous animations in an attempt to compensate for people who can't cope with the fact that what will inevitably be an unrealistic portion of the game doesn't truly simulate real life down to every sneaker squeak.

2K needs to do whatever they need to do to make the game REALISTIC. It's a SIM. Our first priority should be "Is this realistic?" not "Can this be a potential exploit?"

Well for those like myself who are very skilled with the IsoMotion this will become exploited easily. If given another option to attack an apathetic defense this game will lose its' "touch".

Their should honestly be no reason to mess with sliders to "handicap" yourself. It doesn't make too much sense IMO.

I don't see what's so "wrong" with wanting defensive rotations to come quicker or help defense reacting sooner when someone blows past the first line of defense before giving the offense another option of attack.

No, it won't be exploited as long as the game isn't FUBAR defensively and the opposing player knows how to play defense.

I didn't say that. "Handicap" implies that players would make mistakes that they shouldn't make. I'm saying that sliders should be changed so players make shots that they should make and miss shots that they should miss.

Nothing, absolutely nothing. THAT is the right solution to the outcries of "cheese." NOT to add silly contact animations that occur way too often.

Ok we're on the same thought process somewhat. Just from my view I believe they should prove/fix the defensive side of the court before venturing off and adding something new to the offense.

PS- I hate the animations alot as well. Their on the same level as that invisible wall I have to combat with, lol

I agree the defense needs to be the focus before increasing the offenses power. On default a veteran of the 2k series can score at will.

Momentum needs to be apart of this game. I can't count how many times where i would chase the CPU on a fastbreak running full speed, only to jump straight up when I go to block the shot.

Re: NBA 2k11 - Lets Talk Gameplay improvements

When playing the CPU I want to see superstars play like superstars. Even on my team, if there's a superstar not under my control, I want to see him go wild.

In 2K10, even with LeBron set to scorer, when I play against the Cavs guys like Williams and even Varajao (spelling?) take more shots and score more points on a consistent basis.

If I play the Cavs locked onto the PG, I pass the ball to LeBron and he will not score. He passes, but he hardly takes shots even if I pass to him in a very good spot.

Superstar CPU players should know the situation, know when it's crunch time, know when it's time for them to step up.

If I start scoring like crazy with Kobe, CPU LeBron should know that and start demanding the ball, driving, scoring.

MLB The Show does a great job of superstars playing like superstars. The game is simpler and exposes two aspects of superstars being superstars:

                              - Getting the ball or being the focus of the play - much easier in baseball because a guy is up to bat so he's the focus, or the ball is hit to him so he's the focus. In basketball teams get the ball to superstars.

                              - Doing something when he's the focus - again in baseball it's easier. Pujols hits, or Jeter makes a great play on the front end of a double play. In basketball guys like Kobe break down defenders.

NBA 2K11 needs to do a better job of getting the ball to superstars and then the superstars doing something with it when they have it.

Haven't played this game really at all recently, but a couple of days ago I played a game against the Nuggets in my franchise using the Hornets.

With the second patch downloaded Carmello started going off. They isolated him every single time on the wing, I've never seen this before when playing and this was one of the few games I played after the second patch came out. Yes I know I had Peja on him and sometimes Posey but he had 20 on me at halftime, it was awesome.

Whatever the patch did that makes superstars act like this, please keep it for next year.
