Re: NBA 2k11 - Lets Talk Gameplay improvements
Post game needs serious work. Here's what should happen:
If you move the stick AWAY from the basket, you fade away.
If you move the stick towards the basket, jump hook
Move the stick to the right, right hand scoop shot (if your left shoulder is into the defender)
Move the stick to the right, spin and right hand hook (if your right shoulder is into the defender)
Move the stick to the left, left hand scoop shot (if your left shoulder is into the defender)
Move the stick to the left, spin and left hand hook (if your right shoulder is into the defender)
It's downright silly that we can't fade away from the low-post if we're a certain distance from the basket.Comment

@ "the post game needs alot of work" . As far as fading when close, they could reserve flicking the right stick for hooks when close, and holding for fades. Problem solved.

Re: NBA 2k11 - Lets Talk Gameplay improvements
Some close shot animations trigger as if there is no one there, sliding the defender out of position and making it difficult to challenge. An additional issue contributing to this is the ease of getting where you want in the paint. Both false statements. I've played since 2K6 and played online since 2K7.
Let me clear this up for you and everyone else-
False: There's an in-the-paint, under-the-basket, within-the-restricted-area, glitched, unblockable layup animation in 2K10
True: When a player gets in the paint in 2K10, the layup animations are so quick, and the defensive mechanics so flawed, that no one can be expected to react quick enough to block those layups. Combine that with the fact that layups have a higher success rate than they should online, and people are able to and do abuse it to their benefit.
See? Nothin against you, you just need to understand what is and what isn't before you say this or say that. When people say stuff that isn't true, it can mess up how 2K fixes a given problem or whether or not they fix it at all, or force them to "fix" a problem that's not even there.
I just want the best game possible, same as everyone else, and yes, fairer, more balanced online play would be nice.Comment

Laughing at other people's posts isn't really productive, especially in a thread like this. If you disagree with something, you should probably just say why in a mature fashion.Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 - Lets Talk Gameplay improvements
1. Get rid of all those unnecessary dribble animations that help the defender that doesn't even happen in basketball at all.
2. Fix the sliding and running animations; Shaq's recovery spd shouldn't be as fast as Amare's.
3. Hook shots, Hook shots, Hook shots, Hook shots, Hook shots! Fix this!!!
Shooting 15ft hook shots or open for a layup or jumper and a hook shots happens.
4. Reduce all the animations; shot recovery, steals, blks, and dribbles are to long.
5. O rebounds after a shot; player is still in animations or just stand, Melo can get O rebounds after missing a close shot and other players also.
6. Add animations categorizes; go up strong, normal, or weak. D12 and LeBron go strong. Shaq against Hinrich and Shaq did a fade away one handed windmill hook. It happens a lot.Last edited by keshunleon; 03-14-2010, 02:18 PM.True bout my business, Mane!Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 - Lets Talk Gameplay improvements
There is a consensus among 2k and Live players alike, on this site and abroad that the post game is impressive. So your post was ironically hilarious. Moving on.
- drifters need to be sped up.
- the 'riding the back' steal animation needs to be modified to where its a quick attempt that if fails, leaves the defender burnt.
- dribbling violations for excessive dribbling w/ bad ballhandlers.
- illegal screens occasionally for players w/ low offensive awareness.
- push-off and holding calls for players' interaction during off-ball screens.Comment

Collision detection.
for someone who plays onball defense, having someone just force his way through me with no consequences, is very frustrating.
If I beat someone to the spot...the player's momentum needs STOP.
If he tries to force his way through me, he should lose the ball, be forced to pick up his dribble, go out of bounds, get called for a charge..SOMETHING.
He shouldnt be able to just slide off of me as if my positioning and player weight doesnt mean anything.Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 - Lets Talk Gameplay improvements
It would be nice if users had the ability to edit whom players guard defensively. For instance an undersized SG like Iverson or Ben Gordon, priority number one for them defensively would be to guard the PG then the SG. Or make it possible that we can assign certain players to guard the best wing or post player. Like what Bruce Bowen would do.Comment

Just switch to the CPU's side and change the matchups and then go back to your team.It would be nice if users had the ability to edit whom players guard defensively. They need to add a "give up on play" tendency/rating for cpu players who have no chance of stopping a fastbreak dunk from lebron because it results in those stupid fouls.'Only The Strong Survive'Comment

Very true.
RJ should know better. And while I'm posting videos...
That chasedown should have been mine. Players need to jump further. And a little bit higher.Last edited by RayAP19; 03-15-2010, 10:46 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 - Lets Talk Gameplay improvements
Not putting down what your saying. I kind of agree. And kind of don't agree. I don't know about major work either. But I think the reason they made it the way it is. Is because they already have a fade animation for when you close to the basket. But I do agree with more control. But I just don't want to see hook shots from 15 feet away from the rim. Or fade aways when a hook should be done in a situation.
If you think about it....I don't think Deveplors wanted the game to look weird/stupid with casual users shooting 15-20 foot hook shots. I don't think I've seen anyone shoot a hook shot from that far in real life. I would totally ok with it if the users kept missing lol. But that just wouldn't be fun after a while. Know what I mean guys?Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
