Yeah, the graphics are really bad and it lacked quite a few of the animations that NBA2K8 had which doesn't make a ton of sense. Visuals were definitely not its strength.

People give 2k8 more credit than they would ever care to admit.

It had much of the same problems people bitch today about, like spacing issues and help defense rotations.

They're just in love with the past. Happens with all games where people reminisce and make a game legendary based upon what they THINK they remember.

While 2k8 was great, it was not the be-all some would make it. Go back and read some threads about it and you'd see.

I disagree - I'm not in love with the past, I just settled on what, IMO, is the best of the NBA games. Since I gave up 2k10 (due to all the franchise issues), had to decide between 2k8 and 2k9.

2k9 looks better, has better presentation, and more diverse plays. It also has the Oklahoma Thunder with the correct uniforms and arena. When I got my 360, 2k9 was already out, and I thought it was the best basket ball game ever.

But, eventually, because of CH2k8, I gave 2k8 a try. Yes, 2k8 is outdated. The court size isn't quite right. I can't edit players contracts. But, to me, it's still the most fun to play. Just personal preference.

I'm just really hoping that 2k11 will be fixed so I can move on.

I think 2k7 is just as cheesy as 2k9.

At least you can control your players in 2k7. You can stop most of the cheesing because the help defense actually very good in this game. Just have play the proper defense depending on the type of cheesing they do.

I don't remember the help D because I wasn't looking for those things back then, But playing on ball D was pretty hard for me(especially online).

I do like the fact that you could choose when you go into a defensive stance instead of lock-on and intense D. I think going back to that will improve 2k11.

But the offense was super overpowered in that game, alot more than it was in 2k8 and 2k10 imo.

That's another game that gets glossed over. If the dynasty mode wasn't so well done, it wouldn't have the life it does today.

Gameplay had its own issues as well, including the broken blocking/take charge mechanic.

Whats wrong with the blocking and charges? NBA 2k8 was the game with the goofy blocking calls. I miss the blocking calls though.

There are tons of blocking fouls mid-layup where you take the ball out underneath (or even on the sideline somehow lol) when you should be shooting FTs.

ehh got it. Plus charging was RARELY called, even with the slider at 100.

There's a lot that people complained about with NBA 2k8. Just takes a few years for people to forget them... Don't forget the wonderful spin-drop step with Yao....
