Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

so i just picked this up, and its my first basketball game in years.

i dove in to MyPlayer but im horrible and get D's for every game. there is no way to turn down the difficulty, and i cannot improve unless i gain more SP (which cant happen considering my character sucks)

    help!

any advice/tips and is there a way to tune the sliders or move difficulty to rookie?

You can change the difficulty. Go to Game Mode Options or something, and it should be there.

Some tips are to set screens, don't make stupid passes (I recommend using lead passing), don't shoot stupid shots (only shoot when you're basically open), and play smart basketball.

If you're unfamiliar with the game of basketball, try to learn some of the fundamentals.

The Pacers are coming off a loss to the Raptors. They're hoping to come back and win against the Bucks at Wisconsin.

In the first quarter, everything was going down for us, but were really slowed down in the second. The first half ended in a tie at 40. 2nd half was the exact same story as the first quarter. We were just hitting our shots and scored 54 points in the second half to cap off a 94-79 win. The Player of the Game was My Player who finished with his 3rd career triple-double in just his rookie season.

Finished with 35 points (career high), 12 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

        Through 20 games, the Pacers are 12-8 and I am averaging 22, 8, 7, 1, and 1.

i dont think there's any real special trick to it...

im a PG and i average an A+ in teammate grade every game

-i DONT ever call for the ball...i usually just run around screens to get open and hope the ball handler finds me...which they actually do...i average 25.6 ppg

-if i do actually handle the ball myself...i get tons of assists...i average 13.4 apg

-i used to set screens but i stopped doing that since it doesnt really give me a lot of boost in the teammate rating....i just run to the rim and try and get rebounds...hard to do when you're 6'3'' and you have both boozer and noah as teammates...

-for the most part, during the after the game interviews, i choose to be very selective and choose certain answers of professionalism, loyalty and arrogance depending on what they ask...never did the 4th choice(indifference was it?)

-winning also probably plays a pivotal role in it as well...i have a 63-10 record so with that high of a winning record i dont think my team chemistry could go down...

            what position are you playing?

-rebounds are always good teammate grade boosts...
-be mindful of your passing...especially if your teammate is cutting to the basket...this isnt a guaranteed assist...the cpu opponents will clog that passing lane and steal the ball...
-cut down on the turnovers (related to passing advice)
-i dont expect you to make steals just yet but those help
-blocks are a bit more easier to pull off in the beginning than steals, so challenge every jumpshot
-dunks also help since they're automatic highlight plays(earns you 10 SP for every highlight play)
-save the easier milestones that you know you could accomplish for a rivalry game...that way you get 2X the reward of SP

Game 1 of Western Conference Semifinals. Thunder at Lakers, with My Player playing for LA. We are up 1 with 12 seconds left and Pau Gasol inbounding the ball. But instead of passing to me, the PG, he passes to a double-covered Kobe and the ball is stolen and dunked. We lose. **** PAU GASOL DON'T FORCE A PASS IN THAT SITUATION GOD DAMMIT

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

About to star my first My Player career. I made up some random guy named Kenny Cross. He's a freakishly huge SG (6'8", 234 lb.) and he's a 3pt specialist. I want to make a Ray Allen-type SG, so I'm using Ray's shot, because it's the quickest, smoothest shot in the NBA. I figure if I can get my speed way up and my 3pt shooting way up, with Ray's quick shot, I'll be wide open all the time. Halfway through my starting drills before first draft combine game, and I'm gonna do all shooting drills.

One question, though: All these people averaging like 30 PPG with their player, or like 13 assists, are you using 12 min. quarters? Those give me pretty realistic stats, but people seem to look down on it for some reason.

Okay, used my original 10k SP plus my 2.4k SP from drills on 3pt shooting. Went from a 67 to an 85. I'm basically automatic from there.

Those guys probably get the ball a whole lot. But averaging that many in the draft combine is okay, since you actually play all the minutes.

Team chemistry goes up when you win a game. Down when you lose. Simple as that.

i use 9 minute quarters for regular games and 12 minute quarters for rivalry games...i can easily get 10 assists in 6-7 minutes if i wanted to

i do handle the ball a lot(im the starting pg) but i usually only score when derrick rose gives me the assist...otherwise, he'll pass it to some other derp and they cant make anything....

i usually wait like 2 seconds then run towards the baseline closest to the inbounding teammate....seems to work for me since i always jack up a 3pt. shot from this play....most of the time this is the cleanest and easiest way for me to sink a perimeter shot...
