even if this works, there's obviously no guarantee that you'll land on the team that you're making the actual adjustments to or on the same team as the player that that you edit from the main menu
Yea, although I'm a golden state fan, I didn't want to play there seeing as my player is a PG, and the team already has both Monte and Curry. I just wanted there team to be competitive.

I put out a long post yesterday in regards to this patch, but apparently they do not like my critique. This patch has destroyed playing an SG in MP mode. SInce they did not print the original email, basically it is nearly impossible to have a career as an SG now post patch. If they do not offer a way to check call playing and/or go back to free play, SG is officially the hardest position to play and is ruining this game. The only option I can foresee is to erase the game from the hard drive and reboot. Seems drastic but the patch has nerfed the abilty to play an SG.

            1 of 2

            Current MP:
            6’6” SG, 205 lbs
Athletic, overall 48 (currently 7 games into NBA career)
Prior to this MP I finished the Jordan Challenges, did a Jordan Legend to 25 games, a MP SG to 18 games before terminal freeze and an Association up to 20 games.
Well this patch has screwed over anyone playing SG. Without a doubt I think this is a great game and being able to play it fully now is exciting. But my issue with post-patch is that they effectively nerfed the SG position and rendered it virtually impossible to play in a MP career. Obviously this is my opinion, and others will likely disagree, but here are my new issues post patch.
            1) Pg’S now call plays: Pre patch was great as you could free play and help control the flow. Now this causes issues for me as a SG. First, I now have to follow the play versus free playing, which puts me at a disadvantage now prior to pre-patch. I have to run all over to points on the court and most plays do not favor me at this lowly stage. On top of that, I can’t even set picks anymore as most passes are away from me with little person movement.
            2) Dunks: They nerfed dunks and I have played 3 games since patch. I have approximately 33% of my shots near the basket that were dunkable. Even on a few fast breaks, my athletic SG wants to do some lame layup. Dunks are super important to me to get my teammate score up. Without them, and playing against the superior people on the court, it’s difficult to earn much higher than a b+. This is frustrating since I need the A+ to get extra talent points. It also makes it hard to get highlights now, which also helped add points.

              2 o
              3) Scoring: My scoring has decreased as a result of play selection as I am now forced more often into poor position and I usually get the “hold ball too long” as I try to iso into a better shot area. Thinking about trying to dribble the lane now is impossible with the play calls and my current overall rating. Just ruins the whole experience.
              4) Very difficult to earn game objectives. Now that the patch is running play calling is usually counterproductive to what my goals require. And just so people that don’t play SG think it whining, it’s very difficult to crash the boards for rebounds when you are in 3 pt land due to a play. I shouldn’t even be near that line as I am not a good 3pt shot at all!

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

                1) SG disadvantaged with plays: The best way to earn points was to drive the lane and try to get a good dunk before you got the “hold bal too long”. With the dunk pretty much nerfed for me at this level, my next best option is ball defensed shots or rebounds or blocked shots. And as a SG out in the perimeter, the last two are less likely. So I just don’t see how I can get to an A+ rating and score the points necessary to get in the top leaders. I basically see the SG as the hardest to use position now and don’t see how I will be a ROTY or on the rookie allstar listing. I just cant keep up with John Wall.

Askia32 is right...any modification to the rosters in the main menu of the game will be transferred to the My Player mode....

i traded lebron james back to the cavaliers before i started a new career and after my player was drafted to the rockets(i simulated 2 games of season 1) i checked the 'player stats' menu and lebron james IS in fact on the cavaliers roster....

this in all likelihood will mean that you can improve the stats of individual players before you start a new career in my player....so i guess if people are patient enough to somehow meticulously manage the draft projection, they can improve particular players on a team they're supposedly going to be drafted to....

Sorry about the multiple posts, but anyone else thing the SG got nerfed? I am lloking for some pointers on playing post patch. Right now, the fun just went out of it for me. I would try a PG which would give me the ability to "free play" kind of (just ignore called plays until I am can call them) but my biggest fear is I wanted to play a Jordan sized MP and I think thats too big for a PG (where you haave to pay more for each talents). I am totally open to opinions, thougts, etc.

I know what you mean dude, i got best player of the month EVERY single month. John Wall got all but one and yet by the time rookie of the year came i lost to that sucky ****. How? Probably because i simmed 3 games to get to the playoffs...seems BS because i single handedly got my team as the second seed but w/e my PG will get it.

Umm the only thing i found i could do was to call a quick screen which deleted the called play. Sometimes he still just stood there dribbling but others he let me freestyle. Also try getting the ball and calling plays for yourself with L1 ( they will ignore you sometimes but eh) if not do the screen thing get him to pass and pass it back sometimes he doesnt do more plays. I myself can't dunk anymore even with 81 dunking...with 91 i could but i need my 98 mid shot or else i miss everything. Try a simple hop step ( no turbo) to get in the paint.

i tried to speed up the process because the combine and summer circuit can take forever so i played in 3 minute quarters...but yes lebron james was in fact on the cavalier roster when the season started....

but like i said before...for example, if i really want to be on the blazers...i can upgrade oden's durability to 99 before i start my career....it doesnt mean the blazers will draft me unless i somehow can micro-manage that draft by intentionally tanking the combine or doing supremely well...it's still based on performance...

as for the plays and tendencies i didnt really try that out...but that also ties into my example above...no way of guaranteeing you'll be on that specific team

it seems the cpu is really out to get you for missing a handful of games...i wasnt in the rookie game because i missed 2 games...my player's name was nowhere to be found but john wall was listed on the all-star ballot when i led in both roty and mvp races...

i am still irked by this turn of events...sort of makes me want to restart new and quit every game i get injured in....only thing holding me back right now is the fact that my current game file has a registered 10 triple double...

well unless i start a career anew...you have to take what i say with a bit of skepticism since my player has maxed out stats in important areas of the game(scoring, defense, rebounding)

BUT, i dont mind playing with a 6'3'' all around PG...i've lost my ability to call play(floor general) since i signed with the heat...not sure why that is but im just going with the flow....during my first 4 games of season 2...im doing fairly well without the ability to call plays...i average a triple double in statistical output during these 4 games....so i mean rebounding is something you just have to work for but it's definitely achievable(i manage to get 7 triple doubles in season 1 without ever increasing my rebounding...only focused on verticals back then...it wasnt until the post-season that i increased hustle, hands, quickness and rebounding)

you could play with a Jordan sized MP at PG if you want...would make getting blocks easier...also, i wouldnt worry too much about the skill points you get during games...just get an A+ for teammate rating and unlock milestones during key/rivalry games...just time things right and you will get a lot of points...a person here(wessam) got like 21,000 skill points last night or something...

additionally, you could try doing what other people have been doing regarding the dribble course drill and making sure you unlock the +1 or +2 in speed so that you can deduct those from that stat and distribute it to other stat categories....
