Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
I'm pretty sure that all-star votes are completely based on your OVR rating, with some minutes or games played threshold you have to pass before you're considered. Whatever role that league-wide popularity plays is questionable.
In my first season as a SG, I managed to get my overall up around 84 by the all-star break. I came in second in voting among guards in the east behind D. Wade (pretty thin competition). I ended up coming off the bench and played pretty poorly in the 7 or so minutes I got, but at least I made the team. I think Rondo and Rose were injured just long enough to not meet that apparent minutes threshold, so they were ruled out.
I'm still fuzzy on floor general status... I wonder what the actual requirements are, ratings, position or otherwise. I think only PG's get full access to the feature as well.
For floor general status, anyone can achieve it. It happens when your team chemistry gets high enough (I forget the number). I started with 0% chemistry and we are now in the low 30's so, we're getting there.
I upped my stamina and after one game I took one minute away. He is still starting at 3 mpg. And, I AM breasting. I'm averaging over 25 points, around 11-13 rebounds and assists (trip-dub), ridiculous percentages, over 2 blocks and steals a game, and under 2 turnovers.
Edit: Also, the game after I upped my stamina I was booed every time I touched the ball when we were losing to the Jazz (at home). Literally whenever I touched it. Weirdest thing I've ever seen. I'm not that big of a prick in interviews either.Last edited by Streets; 01-26-2011, 12:21 PM.Comment

I just recently started a new one with my SF so I'm just in my second season. First year with the wizards I had 21 ppg with 7 boards and 4 assists and got ROY. This second year I signed with the bulls and we are killer. I'm getting 25 ppg with 7 boards and 9 dimes. We are 19-5 now.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Do the GM's in the game have any sense at all? I have 2 MP's and my first was a PF that got drafted to the Wizards (1st round, 30th) and i've been playing it for a while now. I decided to make a PG the other day and he got drafted to... THE WIZARDS! (1st round, 30th AGAIN!) and do you really think that the Wizards would choose a second PG after John Wall?
I just find this pretty bad that a team like the wizards would use both their 1st round picks on PGs.
let's just say i was drafted to the bulls as a PG...at the time i was thinking, how i would ever supplant derrick rose as a starter...20 games into the season...he broke his ankle and i became a starter...he was out for like 20 games....when he returned from his injury he was automatically shifted over to the SG spot...i actually loved that starting lineup without ronnie brewer...i just felt cheap for taking away derrick rose's position and most of the scoring load so i left chicago in the off-season and joined the heat....
i didnt care much about the stats of the big 3 since i know their career averages would still be insanely high once i leave them after season two due to them being in the league a bit longer than derrick rose and having already had monster seasons already
AFter the game against the Jazz, we faced our rivals the Magic riding a 25 game win streak, the game was all tight along, but Magic pulled a late 4th quarter run to beat us ending our 25 win streak, I had a triple double, Its February now of season 2 and i am averaging 40 points, 13 rebs, 15 assists, 4 steals
for season 2:
i think it was lebron(16ppg), wade(16ppg), and bosh(14ppg)
im guessing if you entered the code from the main menu of the game BEFORE you start the MP mode career(a whole new career)...it might work then...
some great replies, especially by enigma, thanks man! never thought about only letting my team take high percentage shots!
youguys who are on 3/4 season - have you played every game? i simmed a few here and there for my player in season one but (because obv i had a horrible ovr) the cpu made me play **** and my stats took a big hit
i had my stats maxed out by the end of season two so playoff games seemed pointless to me during season 3....
IF the format for the playoffs was a do or die 1 game situation like the NFL...then maybe i would still play the playoffs even with maxed out attributes already...but it's not and it's lengthy as hell even with an already lengthy regular season
but yeah...i dont normally play with that game file...it was just to experiment to see if it works...
I made it to the All-Star game (as a reserve, not voted) my first season rated in the 50's, so performance matters more than your overall rating.

I appreciate the hop spin video. It still rarely works for me, so I only use it occasionally. I found that I really enjoy posting up and can get fouls that way (also slows the game down), but I rarely do it because my stats are bad right now. I would beef up my strength and low post offense if it wasn't for the fact that I'm stockpiling points to try and figure out how to usurp Ricky freaking Farmer.

because performance had no bearing on getting all-star votes for me during my first year...
but that hop spin takes a lot of repeated attempts...you have to continually attack the basket...if you start scoring points in the paint then the defense will start to shower you with more attention...that's when you draw contact
you're not going to max out the stamina? i know you said you're going to keep durability somewhat at a realistic number because you want a guilt-free simulation for the regular season...im guessing a lower stamina for less on-court play time due to fatigue?
LOL...i think they're booing you because you're ripping through their home team's defense....i usually have my tv screen on mute because i play at like midnight and everyone is asleep so i dont get to hear the game sound and fan boosLast edited by -ENiGMA724-; 01-26-2011, 02:04 PM.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
since you're a SF...you should just press L1(LB) and then the button for whoever you want to call plays for and it should bring up a list of plays specific for each positionComment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
i did that for each round of the playoffs...
association mode is easier because they have a super sim feature that can be done from their schedule...Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Wow, you know, I used to play SG and I got 17 pts 7 boards 5 assists on 12 min quarters and I used to think "how are these guys playing 9 mins and getting mad stats?"
Now I figured it out....PLAY PG!!!
I restarted MP as an all around PG and I've realised now that:
1) Since you handle the ball like 75% of the game, you can easily average 20 pts 10 assists in like 6 min quarters.
2) Like Enigma said earlier, PG allows you to dictate the tempo of the game. You can get your team averaging 100 pts a game in 8/9 min quarters because YOU decide that each play lasts 7-8 seconds, rather than being at the mercy of continous 24 second length plays ALL game.
PG is the way to go. It makes the game so much more fun and it actually feels like a different game!
SG was cool, but when I tried to cancel the plays (hitting LB) the PG (devin harris usually) would either ISO his way to the basket and ignore my calls for a pass, or throw up a ridiculous three!
I think everyone who is SG/SF should create an extra file as a PG (if they havent already tried it) and try it for a few games just to see how different it is!!Comment

that is what sucks about this mode...you cant simulate more than one game at a time since it's done in-game after selecting quit...

Oh, and Enigma, I was getting booed at home. I was wondering if I requested a trade or something. It was bad. I'd pick up the ball to throw it to the inbounder and they'd boo. And yeah, I want to gradually increase stamina because I don't want to be on the court all game. I want the minimum needed to start.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
For me, that doesn't sound like much fun though. I like playing with realistic quarters, at a realistic tempo, and getting realistic-ish stats. I even call plays for Melo (since I know the starting SF playbook like the back of my hand) where I don't even touch the ball just to get him his touches. We also lose games from time to time when I rely on my teammates which keeps it interesting. I'm sure it's easier, but being too dominate could make it a bit tedious after awhile I'd guess.

only reason i put this post is because a lot of people are saying "HOW are you getting those stats, averages, etc.". i wondered myself how people could pass the 75 point milestone etc, but now i know - you just have to be a point guard.
doesnt mean you HAVE to be dominant, but you can be when you need to "turn it on". which is what i found difficult with my SG, even on PRO.Comment

but things always changed because i want to try and improve other stats in my career... last season i almost had 1.0 bpg(0.9) that's up from 0.6 bpg the first two seasons(literally same bpg both seasons)
at the moment, im only pushing my 3 point shots, steals, and assists at a high rate to try and get the milestones
my focus though for this season is trying to add freethrows into my repertoire(i only went to the line 200 or so time each season)
ummm do you have a checkpoint save in case a trade did happen? O_OLast edited by -ENiGMA724-; 01-26-2011, 02:54 PM.Comment
