Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

second gamein the summer circuit for my 6-3 pg and i pull down 14 BOARDS and get 2 BLOCKS.

the only adjustments i made was a +2 in vertical from the default attributes - so my vertical was like 42. everything else was normal.

averaging 16.5 pts, 11 reb and 10 assists in 9 minute quarters! and im playing totally sim - no cheese at all. its too easy as a PG lol.

I created a 6' 7" SF Slasher. I did well in the combine and summer leagues. I was drafted 1(23) by Portland. I'm currently the 6th man in the rotation.

The bad news is the most points I've scored is 11 in my 5th game. I'm so bad that I can't even bronze the shooting drill. My dude lays bricks and feels like he's kind of lumbering out there.

It just seems like it's taking forever to get any attributes up high enough. And hell if I want to up my dunk rating 1 point it's gonna cost like 650 pts. Well if I'm only getting 1200 a game then it's gonna take forever.

I see some of you guys have 90+ in multiple ratings. I don't know how you do it.

I love the mode, but it's frustrating.

I also think I need to figure out all of the controls since they're different than normal.
as a SG, it took me until like the 5th game before I scored 10 points. fact is, youre going to be totally bad at first, unless you play PG. you will get better as you go. by the end of the season i had some 40 pt games and some near-30 reb games. just be patient man.

      the most important things are

-TAKE GOOD SHOTS IN YOUR RANGE
      -DONT FORCE STATS

what are your attributes for shooting?

and with the drill - are you hitting the green for perfect release every time? its important to have a perfect release. you know you can turn on the jumpshot feedback in-game too? under the presentation menu!

and also, about the multiple 90+ ratings...were on the 3 hundred and 80 something page of this thread lol. most people made one MP and stuck with it. thats why they have multiple. it took me until about 45 games into the season to get 90 mid range, 90 shoot off dribble, and 90 speed. because im too lazy to do the speed drill cheat.

I just came SO CLOSE to my first quad-dub. My stats were similar to yours. I know you all are asking yourselves, how! How can a 6'8" small forward drop 25 points, 18 rebounds, 12 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover, and 9 blocks (), in Boston no less! Well... I'd like to take all the credit, but I was playing mostly out of position as the shooting guard. My opposition? Nate Robinson, lol.

Thanks man. My best stats are shoot close and shoot medium both at 70. I have a hard time deciding what to put my points into so I move them around in EVERYTHING.

As far as getting green on my release I don't always..or enough. It's funny playing regular association games I have great timing, but not in my player. I think I need to just practice the release in shootaround and then go into the drills.

Also when they are calling plays sometimes it seems they just want me to stand at a spot on the floor. Do you normally do that or go off script to help out with a pick or rebound?

Andre Williams #25 ... "Half Man Half Amazing"

Andre Williams currently playing for the Portland Trailblazers is a 6'7 210 pounds Shooting Guard out of the University of Providence. Andre has been described as a "Vince Carter-like" player with amazing leaping abilitity, a reliable (81) mid range shot and a decent three point shot (65). Coming out of college everyone expected Andre to go in the first round to the New Jersey Nets, but he dropped to the second round and the Blazers might finally have drafted a player that may change the face of the franchise for good.

Heading into the month of January Andre is averaging 15.8 ppg, 6 rpg and 4.3 apg and won the December Rookie of the Month award over Blake Griffin. Most importantly, the Blazers are winning and Andre has been putting on a show every night with his amazing highlight dunks that make you wonder if he is indeed the new Vince Carter of the NBA. "Growing up Vince was my favorite player in the NBA and I do try to play my game like he did in the earlier years, but I am Andre Williams at the end of the day so get to know the name."

LOL whenever i play games against nate robinson or jameer nelson i get so trigger happy on the attempted blocks...

but yeah doing a quad-dub with blocks is impressive from a PG standpoint O_O

DONT dock your points away(it gives you less of a sell back value)...make a decision in one specific attribute and stick with it(i like medium shot at 80)

you know what...i actually suspected that the timing in the jumpshot was different between the two mode...my waves jumpshot animation is smooth as hell on myplayer mode but when i do it on association mode there seems to be a rough delay as he releases the ball...

cancel the play calls by pressing L1 or LB

Can someone tell me that stats do I need to have to dunk in traffic?

I have 99 vertical 96 dunks and I am 6'7. Yet almost every time I can't rise above my opponent to score a dunk. If I am near the sideline he pushes me a little and that's it, I go for a layap.

Also, I can't seem to be able to dunk while I am under the basket. My standing dunk stat is maxed out.

Can you please tell me what makes a player good at dunking in traffic? I know you need more than that (besides creating a bit of space for yourself).

Can you please let me in on the secret?

I made it 69 games as the 6th man. Top in 6th man of the year award the entire season. After game 69 I get the "You've become a starter" speach o whatev from the digital dude. Play game 70 put up 25p/17r/4b. Exit game check 6th MOY award race and my name is not even on the list anymore! lol

Oh well, now I'm second in the ROY award behind Wall of course.

I'm glad I'm not as good as alot of guys here. I couldn't play the game with house rules in order to stay within "realistic boundries". We may lose a ton of games but I'm getting great results stats wise.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

just nailed my first game winner with a 3... the score was 124-124 against the hornets when i released the shot with like 1.8 seconds left...

the way the play was called and inbounded didnt make for much of a dramatic finish since i still had like 8 seconds left and i was able to square up and dribble the ball for like 3 seconds before i shot the ball

tyreke and my player had to do work with the absence of cousins and love...we both scored 25 points

finally got my floor general status back after that game (7 games played) and the Insider just said i was able to make management decisions as well...good thing because i want to try and get rid of some of the cpu generated players on my bench

lost the next game...came close to another game winner situation but my team's defense was getting manhandled...final score 117-116 suns(i scored 23 while tyreke scored 34)

What camera angle do you guys use? I have been using 2K, but for some reason it zooms in on my player a bit so it makes it tough to icon pass sometimes because I don't see the whole court and the angle is off. How do I get just default 2k like I would in a normal game?

I'm PG and got drafted pick 26 by the Grizzlies. I got traded to the Lakers and have not yet won a game. lol 4 straight losses. I'm playing well considering my player rating, finishing with A+ grade but everybody else is playing bad.

Kobe cant seem to hit anything and Gasol is even worse.

                          Could use some help.

i also use the 2k camera angle

the settings on my camera are these
                            -zoom: 3
                            -height: 10
                            -key zoom: off
                            -rev angle: off

                            -fix height: on

i didnt mess with my setting(or so i think)...there a reset to default option on the menu as well

increasing the difficulty makes them worse...on hall of fame my teammates cant even rebound in addition to shooting poorly

that's how the game compensates on higher difficulties...by making your opponents harder and making your teammates dumb as bricks...that's the system's mechanic of making the game 'harder'

if i were you...i would limit the amount of jumpshots your teammates take...use either pro or all-star setting
