Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Enigma, you made a great post before about cancelling plays, and I appreciate your response.
The funny thing I am seeing, though, is that when I play within the offense and let them run their plays they actually shoot much better! I think its because you give the players a chance to warm up.
When I was cancelling plays, our stats were:
41% team fg
me:
11 ppg
5 reb
6 assists
37% fg
But since I've played within the offense (3 games) im getting:
roughly 50% team fg
me:
16 ppg
9 reb
8.5 assists
48% fg
It probably just comes down to my play style tbh. Im probably just rushing my offense too much when I take over.
Quick questions:
-I like "waves", but I cant get perfect release every time, I think that is responsible for my bad fg%. Any more good jumpers?
-Enigma: will you ever upload video of you playing? Not just highlights, but an actual quarter or something of play, so that we can see your play style?Last edited by AdamBa17; 02-17-2011, 10:01 AM.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
hey guys, I have a question about minutes, my player is a SF 6'8 230 lbs and about 40 games into the season (82 games with 12 min qtrs), and for a while now he's been stuck at 33 minutes, he just recently was promoted to starting position over Ariza for the hornets who is now the sixth man.
my guy is avging 18ppg, 6rpg, 5apg on 47% and after a couple GREAT games after recieving my first starter minutes his minutes is still stuck at 33, its been that way ever since he became sixth man, how do I get to be able to play 40 minutes a game?Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Ok, I've done 4 games now letting the CPU run plays to completion and they are shooting 47.2% from the field over those 4 games! They were shooting 41.0% for the season whilst I was cancelling plays.
In other news, for some reason during these 4 games my TO's have gone up astronomically and I'm averaging about 7 TO's a game! Up from 3.4 on the season. Weird...Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
but i sort of run my fastbreaks similar to chris smoove...i try to get my player into the paint before passing the ball to the man cutting to the basket(although i probably close my distance a bit more than he does)
he does run the play more than i do(he also ISOs more than i do)...i havent really familiarize myself with the playbook because of all the team changes...even so im more geared towards making sure my teammates get close to their career average and sometimes the playcalling is mainly centered towards one or two particular player
i literally hug the paint when i want to try and get rebounds...so i usually have to go in and out of bound to avoid the defensive 3 in the key....
as for defense im mainly always trying to get a steal so i might get a lot of fouls called(i lead the league in that O_O)....so you'll see the cpu blow past me often and me trying to make up for it with a failed block attempt
i mainly just run and change my direction to shake free of my man to get open for a three...usually it works...either that or i just pull up and do a 3(this looks a bit less smooth since i sort of walk up to the line and get into position and it's no very fluid)Last edited by -ENiGMA724-; 02-17-2011, 03:42 PM.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
i would but i dont have any experience recording games...not even sure how they do it or with what(i only know how to do the short highlight replays that came with the game)...if anyone knows i would appreciate it

so would you say your play style is more "reckless" or "hit big, miss big"? eg. rather than trying to avoid mistakes you just go for everything you can get?
ps. love your input manComment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
it's more so a controlled form of recklessness...dont get me wrong i get fairly pissed when i get a single turnover but i mean im averaging 2.2topg...which is fairly low when i handle the ball as much as i do and throw that many assists per game in a 82 game season...but if was able to record a video of me playing you'll see a lot of those bogus turnovers im talking about in regards to my player stepping out of bound due to dumb A.I.
but most of the shots that i give my teammates usually have them fairly open or in a position to make a play...they're either out alone from the 3pt. line or already driving to the basket after getting free from their defenders....i would say the only gamble i take is when i allow a risky pick and roll to play out and usually a defender gets into the passing lane(this most likely happens when i forget to call for a quick isolation play)...i do sometime mistakenly pass to the wrong player because i play so far from my tv and im blind as a bat...during these times, i sort of think the square button is a circle button and vice-versa which results in a turnoverLast edited by -ENiGMA724-; 02-17-2011, 05:08 PM.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
my playing style is all over the place...but whenever i run the pick and roll...i HAVE TO do it from the right wing...otherwise, i get a turnover...im not sure why that is...not sure if being right-handed in the game has anything to do with it...

i usually get to the third quarter and have 0 turnovers and then i end with 3Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
great insight - i think my problem is that i play too conservative. funny enough, i try to make every pass perfect and i ALWAYS end up getting 3 t.o. no matter what. someone always sneaks in on that pick and roll etc.
i usually get to the third quarter and have 0 turnovers and then i end with 3
i still havent been able to throw an alley-oop off the pick and roll even tho its me and amare coming off the wing. i'll try it 2-3 times a game when hes running to the hoop and the ball just sails by or he doesnt jumpmyplayer:

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
im not too big on the ISO's...since i primarily jab step and pump fake to clear a lane to the basket
but if i had to use the ISO then it would be 1.) crossover to the left and a spin to my right... 2.) sizeup, dribble left, and then quickly crossover to the right...or 3.) stepback, crossover left, dribble left, and crossover right
does anyone know how to do that pivot from the triple threat stance? i want to jab step and pivot the other direction...i've done it a few times but i dont know how to actually do itLast edited by -ENiGMA724-; 02-17-2011, 07:22 PM.Comment
