Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
I feel like using Default is too easy and simulation is to stupid...
Default i can just call picks and hit 20 plus 3's...
Simulation i hit 1-15 from 3...My random gameplay youtube:

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
oh man, i'm getting pretty frustrated w/ the bump up in difficulty.
not b/c i'm having trouble scoring or b/c my teammates are having trouble shooting. overall the team shot 53% from the floor. i had 25 pts on 63% shooting
but because the computer plays 0 defense now on all star. the other team shot 78% for the game
i held the other pg to 3 for 12 shooting. the computer D kept getting blown by when they were driving or they would leave guys wide open. i kept running all over trying to give some help D but i couldnt be everywhere.
i wanted the game to be more difficult thinking the computers play would get better or smarter. not make my teammates ******s ::edit:: wow they blocked the word. lets say make them less intelligentLast edited by blarg.; 03-02-2011, 12:53 AM.myplayer:

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
hey guys! I've been playing 2k11 for awhile. I normally use an athletic SG but i just started completely over (mainly because i want the COMPLETE updated roster ie. Bibby with the Heat, DWill with Nets, Melo with Knicks etc etc) as a scoring point guard. I did pretty well i think during the combine. I was projected to go 7th to Pistons but fell 8th to Clippers so I rock number 7 (to symbolize the 7 teams that definitely missed out lol). He's a 6'2 194 PG, Ivory Mathis (kinda shocked Mathis isn't a name the announcers can say o_O, this is the first time I've created myself). I'm thinking of sticking with the clippers, i mean they do need a PG and i think Mo Williams would make an excellent back up. What do you guys think?Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
7'2, 252 lb back-to-the-basket C. Got drafted 17th by the Bulls. Figured I'd spend most of the year getting maybe 12-15 minutes a game (since they already have Boozer, Noah, and Gibson.) I was definitely wrong there. Averaging 28 minutes a game, 17.6 PPG, 10.1 RPG (second in scoring on the team, first in rebounds).
I've always been a franchise player in sports games, but starting with The Show 09, and now NBA 2K11, I've given the "my player" type modes a shot, and really enjoyed them. There are only a couple things that bug me a bit, but they're by no means game killers:
- Rose abandons the play, drives into traffic, bumps into 3 guys and throws up a bad shot SO MUCH. Now, he'll also have games where he pulls off some pretty nice moves and is fairly dominant. But there are so many times that a play is called for me to post up, and before I even get in position, he's driving and throwing up a crappy shot.
- There are several times each game where they'll run a post up play for my guy, I'll get there, post up and be just waiting for the ball, (can't call for it, it ALWAYS says "bad call for pass" when I do), and the guard with the ball just sits there and dribbles until there's 3 seconds left on the shot clock, THEN gives me the ball, so I have to throw up a turn around fade rather than go to work in the post.
- This is the biggest one: A lot of times when the play calls for me to set a pick for the PG (or sometimes for Deng), they NEVER, EVER use the pick!! I set it, and we just sit there while the shot clock runs down, doing nothing, and then they chuck the 3 with 1 left on the shot clock.
But, I really do like the mode a lot overall. My overall rating hasn't even cracked 60 yet, but I am really looking forward to continuing to build him up. Kudos again to the 2K crew! (Now, if only we could someday get College Hoops back!)Comment

I just got floor general status so i think what I'm going to do now is when I see that play called change it to a different P&R and see if they utilize the screen if I call the play....Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
I just had the best game I've ever had.
Game 17 of my first season, Knicks @ Pistons (6'3 PG).
After the first 16 games, the most points I had scored was 23 which I had done three times.
Well, I just doubled that.
46 pts - 3 reb - 8 ast - 1 stl
We won 95-80.
And with this being a key game I earned 7628 skill points, which is a new record for me.
And to top it off, I got the "welcome letter" from Jordan.
Oh, and I got "MVP" chants!Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
I have the exact same problem. I'm also a center. I think the pick and rolls called for you to pick may be broken, I swear I've tried everything, and it's the same old thing. They don't use the pick, the sit there and wait till 3 seconds then hand you the ball, usually at the 3 point line...I've tried everything I could think of so far to get the play moving and still the same thing.
I just got floor general status so i think what I'm going to do now is when I see that play called change it to a different P&R and see if they utilize the screen if I call the play....
You know, I got floor general status around 15 games in. At least I thought I did. The little 2k Insider guy said as much. But, when I try to call a play as I would in Association, it doesn't work. (Push right on the d-pad). Is the control for calling a play in MyPlayer different?Comment

So the two questions I suppose I should ask now (Paging Enigma!)
1. How do you call for a pick and roll in MP?
2. How do you call plays in general in MP?
3. OK one more, what's the pick and pop I keep reading about?Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
-only issue i can think of is that when you press L1, the icon for your player might not show so the pick and roll/pick and pop options might not be available for your player...if that's the case then Adarkin's advice only works for plays within the menu that arent pick and roll/pick and pop
2. calling plays once floor general is achieved is done with the right d-pad(look at the quote below, im sure the plays are different for each team, coach, and position but that's what i see from my end of things) it's just different for other positions aside from PG because 2K decided to be suuuuuper awesome and not show the play menu for the SG/SF/PF/C positions unless they're subbed in at the PG role(Mazing87 was briefly subbed in at PG with his SF and had the play menu available to him)...so the plays are there
-take a quick look and notice how the 4 plays available to each player in the picture below dont have a specific pick and roll option aside from the quick play menu(the default screen when you press right on the d-pad)...so im guessing if you want to call for the pick and roll or that of the pick and pop...you have to do it from the L1 option(concern about this method was posted during response to question #1)
3. again, not sure if you can call either the pick and roll nor the pick and pop with your PF/C being the actual pick(try selecting the play and giving it to the PG like what i mentioned in my response to question #1)....but the only difference between the two plays is how long you hold the icon button of the user you want to set the pick...but in case you were asking what the actual play in of itself was...it's when after the pick is used, the player doesnt drive to the hoop...he gets open and once you pass him the ball he shoots it
-pick and roll: tap L1/LB(icons will appear), hold down the button of the teammate you want to set the pick(hold it only until he runs over)
-pick and pop: same thing - tap L1/LB(icons will appear), hold down the button of the teammate you want to set the pick(you just hold it down longer, i usually hold it down until the pick is actually established)
-pick and roll from the quick play option: press right on the d-pad, press x/a for a quick pick and roll ....i love running the quick isolation play first(right on the d-pad, then o/b) before i use the pick and roll so that the lanes arent clogged with defenders
***the first two done with the L1 option can be used even without having floor general status....only the pick and roll from the quick play menu needs the floor general(sort of redundant but it's available)
***the first two done with the L1 option allows you to run the pick and roll with any teammate you want...whereas with the quick play pick and roll, it's usually either your PF/C(again, really lame and i would just use the L1 option since floor general is not required)
just in case playcalling as a floor general isnt team/position/coach dependent(if anyone can verify this by playing a game and calling all these plays to see if they match then it would be great; only thing is that you cant be on the kings, a PG or have gregg popovich as a coach)...this might be useful for those who arent a PG and dont have the play menu
press right on the d-pad and make your play selection from there...then give the ball back to your PG to let him run the playLast edited by -ENiGMA724-; 03-02-2011, 12:16 PM.Comment

i was livid. luckily i have my clutch and consistency up and was able to hit a game tying jumper. i understand they wont play great defense but at least stand there and make the computer go around you. dont get out of way and let them go straight to the hoop.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Thanks, Enigma.
So essentially, as a C with floor general status, I can push the right d-pad, and call the plays, I just can't see what is being called. Is that right? In other words, I'll need to memorize what play is assigned to which button for my player, then just push right d-pad and push the button. The play will then be called, though I'll never actually see the menu to call the play.
Interesting.Comment

so for a C...you're going to have to click right on the d-pad and scroll the menu(while remembering the entire process in your head) until you reach the plays just for the C....
scroll using L1/RI or LB/RB....the shortcut would be to press right on the d-pad then press L1/LB once to scroll backwards to the play menu for CLast edited by -ENiGMA724-; 03-02-2011, 01:21 PM.Comment
