Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

Started a second my-player. A 6'7", all-around point guard(which for some reason has the same speed/quickness/vertical caps of an athletic point guard). I got drafted by the Raptors, and after getting blown out by the Cavaliers I asked for at trade.

Initially the Magic were interested in me, but they lost interest. It became a 3 team race between the Suns, Cavaliers, and Clippers. I ended up getting sent to the Clippers.

Now I just need to find out what the clippers traded for a 49 overall.

For 25 vertical or whatever it is he sure seems to get some air. I can't imagine this is how Yao plays in the game (although I haven't actually played with the Rockets to know).

Are these some ratings I should concentrate on or some animation settings for my player I should change?
    Focus on
Shot Inside --> Shoot in Traffic --> Shot Close and Shot Medium(find a Balance) or Shot Low Post --> Ball Security --> Hands

No, really, Ball Security. Unless you like watching Tony Parker strip your guy every time he tries to put up a layup. Hands are nice, unless you like getting a bunch of turnovers because you mishandle the ball for a half-second, and the entire defense converges on you, and strips it.

    Post Game Tips:
    - Make sure you're actually posting up. and not just putting up a contested lay-up.
    - Make good use of flick-flick shots, they make great finishers to a drop step/step through
    - The Spin is only really usefull after you increase your Post Offense, and your mid/close range shot
    - Find a Contested Jump Shot Animation that you can consistently get green on.

      Thanks for the tips guys.

I have a PG one too - and had a funny thing happen. I had to keep Wall at 10 points as an objective. With a few seconds remaining he was int fouled at 9 points. Anyway, he hits the first FT and I pause to check the performance screen and see what the objective was at, expecting it to be 10. Nope - it was 11. Wha?? They counted 2 points for one FT?

Nope. Turns out the game predetermines the next FT being good. LOL. Here I was thinking 2K had this awesome system where the ball follows real physics.

When playing a game, when i go to the boxscore, then go to myplayer's player card, his rating is down on almost every rating. Some down by 10pts!

At first i thought it must be fatigue, but the its the same for the first or last game of a back to back, so i figure it is not the cause.

        Anyone else encounter this?

Just starting this mode with a athletic C.

I'm trying to research on this and from all the tips I read, the right strategy is keep setting picks and concentrate on defense, right? With skill points, I should concentrate on vertical and shot inside? and for drills i should do the dribble course, right?

I've been sucking so far...i've been getting C or C+ in the nba games so far playing backup C for the blazers.

While waiting for the NBA2k12 to price drop and the real NBA season, I decided to give an All-Around PG a go, the 2nd game of the Combine is hard due to:
                1. John Wall having Speed, Quickness, Ballhandling at 90+
                2. Which is compounded that my player is unable to call defensive plays in the combine which could negate the isolation play called by Wall (therefore disadvantageous to My Player at this point ) which I could negate with a zone.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I have an athletic point guard with the Knicks (76 overall). Through over 50 games we have a losing record and are chasing the 8th seed. We're half a game behind the Hawks and I feel like we can catch them. Our 3 game win streak ended with a blowout loss to Miami and then just now we lost to the Magic by a big margin. I brought my dunk up to an 85 and have Jason Richardson's dunk package equipped and my dunks are just nasty!

                  My signatures:
                  Jumpshot: Jerryd Bayless
                  Fadeaway: Dwyane Wade
                  Runner: Michael Jordan
                  Leaner: Derrick Rose
                  Free throw: J.R. Smith
                  Layup package: Rajon Rondo
                  Dunk package: Jason Richardson

This my player was created before the trade deadline two years ago so no Melo. The reason why we're so bad is because our starting lineup looks like this:

                  PG Me
                  SG Kelena Azibuke
SF Wilson Chandler (who apparently sucks in this game)
                  PF Amare Stoudemire
                  C Joel Przybilla

Anybody know how to use Rondo's signature layup? If someone could tell me what button(s) to press to trigger the animation I'd appreciate it greatly!

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

                    I have a myPlayer (SG, All-Around)

Entered the draft combine as a below-average rookie, drafted in the second round as 34th overall by the Washington Wizards, sucked badly in the Summer Circuit and was delegated to the D-League (with the Texas Legends). After a several games with improved performance, I was noticed by the Dallas Mavericks and was signed to a 10-day deal. Performed up to par for the first five games, and was given more minutes, eventually replacing Jason Terry (who was traded to NoLa).

Got Rookie of the Year that season (take that, John Wall ),made it to the Rookie-Sophomores game and the All-Rookie Team, and led the Mavericks to the championship (as they did in real life) against the (surprise, surprise) Miami Heat. Beat them in 4 games (that's right, swept the floor right out of them). I was named Finals MVP (sorry Dirk).

I averaged 27 ppg, 5 rpg and 4 apg for that season (I think it's not really that good, but it was good enough for ROY honors, probably because I led the Mavs to the best record in the West). For the second season, I disabled Autosave, and jacked up the attributes to the max so I'm now a 99 average SG. Blew right through half the season with an average of 43 ppg, 9 rpg, 5 apg, 3 spg and 2 bpg, topped the All-Star voting, (but got edged by Kobe for the starting lineup. Stupid coach AI ). Anyway, I got the All Star Game MVP so, no complaints. The Mavs traded Kidd for Stuckey (which turned out to be good, since he was a better scorer than J-Kidd, and isn't afraid of attacking the rim. Chandler went out because of an injury, and was later traded, but Butler remained healthy and helped me, Stuckey and Dirk carry the offensive load for the team.

During the second season (after the All-Star game, I think), that nifty little star appeared next to my stamina bar, indicating my all-star status, and eventually, I led the league in scoring and steals, won MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and a perfect season record for the Mavericks (I broke several NBA season records as well: FG%, total no. of points, etc.). Blasted through the playoffs and defeated the Heat again for the championship for the 2nd straight year . 2-time Finals MVP (again, sorry Dirk) Defensive Player of the Year, and 2-time champion; not bad for a sophomore, don't you think?

In my third season, I jacked up my averages to 50 ppg, 16 rpg, 10 apg, 7 spg, and 4 bpg. Got top votes for the All-Star Game once again, but again, Kobe got the starting position (damn him). But nevertheless, I got more minutes (again) and won All-Star MVP again. Broke the NBA record for most points in a game (sorry Wilt), 3-pt made (sorry Kobe), and steals in a game. Another perfect record for the Mavs, and MVP honors, 1st All-NBA Team, All-Defensive Team, Defensive Player of the Year, scoring title, rebounding title, assists title, and steals title. Man, I'm really dominating the league. I'm into my fourth season, and currently I'm averaging 60 ppg, 16 rpg, 11 apg, 9 spg, and 4 bpg. I'm hoping to finish the season with a quadruple-double average!

I wonder if 2K11 MyPlayer ever ends?

I’m in my eighth season right now and I’m playing on Hall of Fame averaging 72 pts, 13 reb, 15 ast, 9 stls & 3 blk. I’ve won 7 MVP and Championships soon to be 8 and I am currently at 36,000 career points and gonna be passing Kareem in no time. After all this time however, I got to thinking- is it gonna go on forever? Would i technically play like 30 seasons?

As of right now, most of the players I started out with in 2010/11 season are either in their prime (ie. John Wall, Tyreke Evans, James Harden) and the players who were in their prime are in their 30’s and declining a lot. Some of the best players in the league now are generated players who absolutely DO NOT look like basketball players lol and have names that belong in the 1960’s like Oswald Clement or something like that. At this point there’s nothing else I can really do to get better, other than winning more rings and more accolades but I was curious if the game one day will just stop working and I’ll have to start over or something. Been playing with this character on and off for 11 years now and I’ve put up some of the most ridiculous numbers. (112 point game, 40 FT made in a game, 32 Assists, 25 Steals, multiple Quintuple doubles) like what else can I do and when does it end? Haha
