Recently joined this forums, but was around for this thread for awhile. Anyways, I'm fairly new to My Player. Correction: to any NBA actually. I was wondering which position should I choose for beginning. I heard point guard is the way to go, but since I play on my pc, I can't pull off spin moves or behind the back dribbles so driving would be a bit of a problem. I'm leaning toward a shooting guard though since I don't need to direct plays too much, for Im horrid at initiating plays as a PG and I would finish off with a trusty 3. Who wouldn't want that. So basically, here are my questions and I would appreciate it a lot if you could help me.

-What position (and subtype; athletic, scoring,etc.) for MP and how should I build it (first 10k points and onwards)?
-What can I do to ensure an A+ in the game?
-What are some techniques to drive more efficiently?
-How should I respond to mismatches (off and def)?

Just finished a season with my 6'3" PG. Won the championship with the Heat, and I'm going to change teams, cause it's a bit too easy to win, and they could win championship without me anyways. Two choices I got that interested me were the Clippers and the Bulls.

With the Clippers, the starting 5 will be

James Hendrix (Me)
Eric Gordon
Al-Farouq Aminu
Blake Griffin
Chris Kaman

With the Bulls, I could be the PG and Rose would be SG

Derrick Rose
Luol Deng
Carlos Boozer
Joakim Noah

Both teams would be ridiculously balanced 1-5 and fun to play with. Which team would be better to join?

If you want to win another Chip go with Bulls
If you want to build team up, Clippers.
Since I too have a PG, I hate playing with another PG on the court. Because when you pass it to them for a easy shot they will either pass it or try to drive and kick. I got drafted by the Hornets, Before I traded out, I took CP3 job. I didnt like playing alog him. I would have rather took the SG spot. I can play a good SG. Since I have a 98 rated Defense I can covver 1-3 positions.
I play for the Nets(old rosters). When I got traded there mid season, we started off hot and had a chance for the playoffs, but we did horrible by the end. But after 30 games in the second season, we are 23-7 and the best team in the league. Mot of the losts came from simming bad games. We are unstoppable. Especially since maxing my Steal. We have the best defense. I am currently boosting 3pt(at 58 now). Once I get that maxed, We will finally have a 3pt shooter.
At first, I wanted to be traded to the Magic(D12 was the reason) early in the season even though we had a great record. But I dont regret it at all. Hopefully the trade suggestion thing comes up. The way how I play it leaves wingmen wide open. We dont have great shooters.
My stats are 26-7-6 and I avg 3.3 steals.
I would choose the Clippers since you already got a ring you can build the team up.

When do you get the messege from the insider when the team will run alot of plays for you. Before I saved over it, My SF got it at 88-91. NO lie,I got the ball almost all plays when I was in. My PG is 93 and I still didnt get it. I am the 2nd rated PG and I am still not a Star yet, I got the star under my feet but not in the menu.I usually call Iso's or Pick and Rolls for me.
I never got a play that was designed for me called(not talking about Post plays and passing plays) I have to call them myself. I only attempt 20-25 shots a game.

My starting 10000 skill points will go towards Steal, On Ball Defense, Shot medium and Shot 3pt. I haven't tried playing as a defensive player so any tips on how to get lots of steals?

Also boost Def Clutch too.
Once you get Steal to a high rating it gets easier. Mostly using turbo when you stealso you can start a quick fast break. My first season I average 0.3 steals a game( the steals that I got were deflections and stolen passes) and in my 2nd season I avg 3.3 steals a game. We are the 2nd best stealing team now. We are a defensive team. Using 10 min quarters, we only give up 80-90 points to good teams. Today we(Nets) only allowed 74 points against the Pistons, even though we only had 82. It is rare that we got 100+ points and it is 1/5 game chance that we get over 80 points. We are a defensive team. Most of our points come from Turnovers, fastbreaks, cut to the basket, and me. I try to attempt 19-25 shots a game. I try to avg a Triple double. I like have defensive games. I just wish Nets had a faster paced offense.

The problem I had with miami is that Lebron and Wade aren't very good off-ball players, and me handling the ball took away a lot of their scoring. For the bulls, I don't want Rose to just be my sidekick. I want like 1-2 punch, kinda like Kobe-Shaq. That's what I think I could do with Griffin but the lineup with me joining the Bulls is very interesting.

What type of PG are you?
I think since Rose plays somewhat like a SG might not hurt, it might seem entices. I think if you are more of a passer than a shooter PG then I think Bulls seem great because of Boozer/Noah and Rose might shot when you passer.
But if you are a more of a scorer than passer, Clippers are the way to go. You would be the main scorer and shot taker. They have good big men. Eric Gordon is a good 3pt shooter. You can form a pick and roll combo with Griffen and Kaman.

i played my 1st year as a PG for the knicks, then signed with the clippers for season 2. i wanted the magic but i dont regret going with the clippers. it so much fun to play with that team. i had trouble getting eric gordon to put up good numbers but kamin and griffin were beasts! i only played half a season with them before i a made a new myplayer but i had griffin avg 21 pts and kamin avg 15 a game. both were close 10 rbs a game. the team was alot of fun to play with. my only problem which was probably my own was that I had too many turnovers. I was throwing up alley-oops all over hte place and sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. thus i ended up with a pretty high turnover rate. besides that, being a pg on the clip is alot of fun

Yeah Overall. I got the message as a SF from the Insider saying that the team will run a lot of plays too me. When I checked the Menu I was a Star.
As a 93 Overall PG, I never got it. I have the star under my feet, but not in the menu. I think Once I pass D.Rose I might get it.
I cant wait till I get my 3pt up to 85+. I am at 58. I dont have any drills. So I have to wait until every 6th Game to get a drill. So I will use dribble drills and decrease speed to get it up.

Lopez, Favors(old roster), and Gooden(signed) are beasts. But, though IMO Favors plays soft alot. On a good night Lopez and Favors can have a double-double. We are a defensive team. I dont try to get Devin Harris involved anymore. Every time I pass him the ball he drives and kick or forces a bad shot. We have A.Morrow(good 3pt Shooter) but he misses open 3s every time I pass it to him, so I stopped trying that decision. We need better SF. Damion James and Outlaw are avg at best. I want a Athletic Defensive SF who can shoot is a Mid-deep range shooter.
I too have a problem with turnovers. My first season I would easily get 7+ TOs a game because I was forcing passes and I pass out of a TON of shots. Especially this season when I first started doing Alley Oops. But after I got the 25 Career Triple-Double milestone, I have tried to get high assist stats. So my TOs dropped to around 3-5 a game. But, recently I been getting 10+ assists again. But I have keep TOs down under 5.
But most of my TOs come from the defense last sec putting there hands up. The CPU reactions are super quick. Wish their were sliders

i thought about getting one of the MP trainers b/c i heard you can change what team you play for. d.howard is my favorite player and its fun to play with him on association, it'd be nice to have his as my teammate in MP. i would probably just work on getting my 3pt up and try to force feed him the ball. i'm sure i'd get plenty of open looks

I'm JUST now getting around to starting one of these. I just won the NBA Title in my Thunder Association and now I'm turning some attention to My Player...

Are there any specific slider sets I should look at before getting started? I know it can be infuriating to play with your guy since he is such a scrub at the beginning. I didn't know if All-Star Sim sliders would be too difficult or not...If anyone has a few tips or pointers for:

* Quarter length
* Slider Sets

IDK man it all depends on your team and how they want to do it. I didn't get the star under my name until I was like 91 overall. But every team I've been on I got the rights to call plays after 6 or 7 games from starting
