Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

My player is a 6'7 PG who got drafted by the hornets traded to the lakers where I immediately started next to Kobe Bryant. I averaged 33 ppg 10 rpg and 8 apg in my rookie year shooting 56% from the field 78"% from the line and 51% beyond the arc. I won Rookie of the year but wasn't considered for the MVP or Allstar game. Me and Kobe combined to win 69 games even with my player getting injured for 3 weeks late in the season.

    Rookie Year playoff run
    we swept the hornets
    beat the spurs in 5
and beat the nuggets in 7

We faced the Celtics where I took home court from them in our first game and won 3 of the next four giving Kobe his sixth ring and me My first.

I was named finals mvp with 35 ppg 10 rpg 12 apg but Kobe got League MVP

I finished my rookie year at 81 overall

The offseason comes and at first I thought I wanted to stay with the lakers but the Heat offered me a contract and the thought of playing with the big 3 was enough for me to ditch Kobe and Gasol. The season starts and I play 2 games with the miami heat before deciding that I didn't wanna be on a superteam so I requested a trade and got picked up by the 76ers. The Sixers had had the worst record from my rookie season and the toughest division with two super powered overall 99 players I had created and accidentally brought into my players world; one a PG for the Celtics, the other a C for the Knicks. A few weeks and a few trades later Iggy is no longer on the team. Management brought in kyle korver, Paul George and a few other role players to replace him and build around me.

I'm now past the allstar break in my 2nd year averaging 32 ppg 12 rpg and 10 apg along with 5 spg and 2 bpg but 2.6 tpg the sixers are 47-13 1st in the eastern conference and I'm still not considered for MVP despite leading the league points rebounds assists steals fg% and 3pt%.

I now own the league record in points, fgs made, fgs attempted, 3pters made, 3pters attempted, steals and the playoff records for all the same categories minus steals.

    Overall 95
    Michael Jordan Jumper
    Julius Erving layup package
    Vince Carter dunk package
    maxed physical attributes
maxed offensive attributes minus hands and ball security
    and nearly maxed Mental attributes

I plan on retiring if I have the option at the end of the year and starting a new player.

Love it when teams with slow guards go small.

The Mavs took out Dirk and Chandler was in foul trouble, so they have 0 bigs on the floor.

I blow past Kidd's slow ***, dunk on him, and draw drives-to-the-basket shooting fouls on two other possessions and score six straight points.

They put the bigs back in.

I have a 6'7 SG, 265 pounds, looks HUGE on court compared to someone his size(Kobe or lebron) Finished season with nuggets after being traded from Orlando and the suns. We finished the season 69-13 on a 27 game winning streak, i avg 35.4 ppg, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist haha, we blow out everyone. Swept the jazz in 1st round, swept the lakers in 2nd, swept the spurs in the conf finals, meet up with the heat in the finals, so far in the playoffs i am avg 60 ppg 8 boards and 3 assists, we are up 2-0 on the heat, going back to denver for the next 3, and im pretty positive we will sweep them. Loving this game mode, won MVP award, and rookie of the year, didnt make all star game though, have no clue why, not even the rookie game. any idea why?

Finally half way through the season with my center I am averaging a quadruple double with the heat. I get 30 points 31 rebs 10 assist and 12 blks. Drop my scoring down cuz assist come easy with the heat and we don't have a main assist person so I decided I would be that person. Only .7 assist away from leading the league in five stat categories not counting field goal percentages

            Uh...can skill points disappear?

I got my layup to 90 and went and changed my layup package. Came back and decided to see how high I had to get dunk to get a dunk package other than rimgrazer.

So I take some points out of three-point shooting and throw them in dunk to get it up to 60, go into edit player and see if any new dunk packages are unlocked.

Nothing is unlocked so I go back to skill points to throw the dunk points back into three-point shooting and suddenly I can't get it back up to where it was? WHAT?

When u sell the points back it doesnt give as much back with you putting it on dunk it took more away. Same thing happend to me but now I always turn autosave of so I can go back.

2 consecutive games with triple doubles with my 6'4 sg. Rebounds come really easy on the hawks cause nobody averages over ten. Finally starting now after getting 33 minutes of the bench. Ive been struggling with shooting for a couple of games normally I can you 50-60 percent from the field but now I'm lucky if I shoot 40. Stats after 17 games are 33.2 ppg 6.1 rpg 4.3 apg 1.1 spg and 1.5 bpg

So after reading all these posts about crazy dominance in your first and 2nd years is it safe to say My Player is still WAY too easy and needs to be made much more difficult for 2k12?

For me, it's not as easy. I play on All star and my 6'2 PG , in my first year, 25 games in, averages 9 PPG, 2 RPG and 2.3 APG so I don't really know what these other people are doing to dominate that much.

Is it really a bad thing if My-Player is easy. Hell, I would argue that it still starts too slowly because you start out as terrible player, who doesn't even fit his role description (My Athletic center couldn't dunk, lolwut?)

The game would be best suited, by raising the starting level, and decreasing the rate at which you improve. This way there is both more there at the beginning, which for me was just painful and boring, but also less of such a rapid rise to being the best player at your position.

I think it is easy. I think you should start at 50 instead 39. I think the Skill points should be determined by Difficulty, so if you play on a higher level it will take longer. Also Sliders is a must. I think ratings should take more Skill Points

I think it's good the way it is because u don't want it to hard or to easy. I agree on higher starting point because normally if ur 7'5 you can dunk. Through the first couple of games it's kinda hard since you suck then it gets easier. First season played on pro the went to Allstar during the playoffs then that got pretty easy so then I put it on superstar. I'm not that good so I put it back on Allstar and try to get my teammates more involved. I used to average 70 points per game now i am at 30 and have 26 assist per game thanks to Dwight Howard. He averages 40 ppg. He once scored 66 cuz I kept running the pick and roll with him and got 33 assist

Game 7 of the Finals against the Heat. Pumped up my 3 PT shot to 90. Time to rain death and see if Lebron can keep up.

I think that's a good idea. You wouldn't even be considered as draft prospect if you were such a lowly rated player IRL (could you imagine a team drafting a 7'5 center that couldn't dunk ).

It's hard for the developers because if its too hard people will get frustrated and give up and if it's too easy it gets boring fast.

My Player isn't too easy. I expect to shoot well when my medium is 93 and my 3PT is 90, with 90 shoot off dribble and 70 shoot in traffic.

You gain skill points too fast, though, so it's too easy to raise key attributes quickly. I also have on ball defense and defensive awareness in the 80s so I'm already one of the best all-around players, and that's just not realistic.

The mode would be more challenging if they lessened the skill points you gained.

its easy for the dedicated and just right for the average joe who picks up the controller to play a little basketball.

i agree w/ jonesy that the developers have to balance keeping it interesting to people who dont play games regularly and will quit their product if its too difficult against the people who are hardcore and more dedicated, who want it difficult and are willing to put in the time and learn the game and develop their character.

when your putting out a product to the masses you have to try and appease everyone to make your product a success.

thats part of the reason i wish 2k would allow you to tweak the myplayer sliders through the game instead of having to find alt routes. this would allow them to keep the base product at a level that everyone can enjoy. but still allow the more dedicated to play at a higher level with more difficulty than normally available
